Finally, the Mi Mix 3 5G users will be amused as the device will receive the stable MIUI 12 update. Previously, the device was stuck on MIUI 10 and Android Pie for a long time whereas the other phones received Android 10 updates and MIUI 12, but now it is reported that Xiaomi is spending the MIUI 12 update for the European users. The users will get this update from the next month onwards.
Previously, we acclaimed that, Xiaomi promised to unfold a security patch in July, but arrived in last month. But the company made it up by sending the MIUI 12 update ahead of schedule. According to the source, last month Xiaomi has completed the first MIUI 12 Beta build of the device, and now it has been released paired up with Mi Mix 3 5G device.
The MIUI 12 update for Mi Mix 3 5G does not bring Android 10. This update carries the software named, MIUI 12.0.1.0 PEMEUXM, and it also bears a codename Andromeda, showing it is an EU model of the device. The update comes in the 958MB package and should include the super wallpaper. The Vodafone model should get its update shortly. The OTA brings a 958MB download for this update in Mi Mix 3 5G.
The MIUI 12 update brings a new feature in the control center of the device that lets users swipe down from the upper left corner to open the Notifications shade and from the upper right corner to open the Control Center and when the Notification shade is open swipe down the upper right corner to open the Control Center.
After this update, Xiaomi will be offering another security update to Mi Mix 3 5G in December, then yet another in March. However, the MIUI 12 update on Mi Mix 3 5G is based on Android 9, which was previously expected, but users will get most of the features of Android 10/11 after the MIUI 12 update.
Oppo is mainly renowned for its smartphones around the globe, though there are some accessories too. Where all its sister companies like Realme and OnePlus derived to the smart TV market months ago, Oppo is still preparing. But it seems that the products will debut very soon as those already spotted during 3C certification. Besides two remotes also peeked on the Bluetooth SIG database.
Actually, it’s not for the first time, earlier in June Oppo released an image displaying all of its achievements in 5G technology, where a smart TV was also included.
As per the 3C certification, there are two screen size variants – 55 inches and 65 inches. The surprising thing is each variant has 10 different model numbers. Here are those –

As per the market survey by Counterpoint Research, the Indian TWS hearable market exploded in the second quarter of 2020 with as much as 656% growth on a YoY basis. This obviously is driven by the incredibly lower priced TWS earbuds we have been seeing in the market off late from brands like Realme, Xiaomi, JBL, and boAt.
Also, due to the remote work culture and the pathetic lockdowns are urging more and more customers to go for TWS earbuds and they are very handy as well. Previously you had to spend a lot to get quality TWS earbuds and people couldn’t afford that much and so the new cheaper ones with modest sound promises to get the job done.

The 13th edition of IPL is only 13 days away to start. The Indian Premier League is the world’s biggest T-20 league. Like the other teams, two times title holder Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is spending the last few days before the tournament doing some real hardcore training. Right now all the Indian players have reached UAE and after finishing the quarantine, they are busy in the nets. Coaches are also there. The main coach Brendon McCullum will join the team in the next few days.
Regarding the other foreign players, the majority of them will join probably next week. For example, the monster Andre Russell along with Sunil Narine will join KKR after the CPL finishes. The most expensive player in this year’s IPL, Pat Cummins alongside Eoin Morgan and Tom Banton will join the team after the England-Australia series ends on 16th September. Lockie Ferguson has already reached in UAE. But right now he is enjoying his quarantine.
Recently Pat Cummins has made a crazy statement, that is “Not concerned about Covid-19, soon joining KKR”. That means the heat of the IPL is real. Every player all over the world is very much excited for this season’s IPL.
“In terms of the mental challenge over here, for sure, it is a long tour and when you add the IPL, you probably go on, especially without seeing your families,” Cummins said in a virtual press conference on Saturday. “The important thing is you have to be prepared and come up with a game plan to manage yourself,” he added.
The Aussie pacer is very much satisfied after hearing about the safety and precautionary measures for the players and staff of the team. “In terms of safety, I have got no worries at all, hearing about the length that they have gone to protect the tournament, the players, staff, it is huge. Here in England too, no stones have been left unturned, we feel really safe and I am sure that it is going to be the same in the UAE as well from whatever I have heard,” Cummins said.
“I know it is going to be a bit different from what an IPL normally feels like, but I hope the cricket is the same,” added the Kolkata Knight Riders pacer further.
Apart from that, former KKR player as well as former Australian Chinaman bowler Brad Hogg has predicted that KKR will finish in the third position in this year’s IPL.
Speaking in the latest episode of ‘Hogg’s Vlog’ on his official Youtube channel, Hogg said: “What is the one flaw in this team? There is only one – the relationship between Andre Russell and Dinesh Karthik. We can’t have Andre Russell come out in the media after the game and say we didn’t make the right decisions. That’s got to be done behind closed doors.”
According to Hogg, Brendon will have to manage the tension between the two players. “Brendon McCullum has to make sure he rectifies that relationship, gets on top of it early, because, if there is a little bit of disharmony in this line-up, it can have a ripple effect in a bio-secure environment, and things can get out of hand very quickly,” Hogg said.
The current KKR captain Dinesh Karthik claimed in July that he had a conversation with Russell. He also ensured that he had resolved all issues with him.
“He wasn’t happy with me, he wasn’t happy that the team wasn’t winning, that is the bottom line. Whatever he said, I completely respected it. He was a little apologetic as well. At the end of the day, I have a great relationship with him. What if I didn’t have a great relationship with him, it could have spiralled into something nasty,” Karthik had said on The RK Show on YouTube.
“Because, he can open the batting, bat in the middle overs, also play some big shots at the end to finish off the innings. Also, they have got Andre Russell, who can bowl a little bit of medium pace. But that batting at the end is pure firepower. There is no boundary too big for him,” Hogg said.
“The standout player of the team is going to be Tom Banton from England. He is going to lead the way, he is going to be the leading run-scorer for the Kolkata Knight Riders. He is going to be the top three best batsmen in the IPL this year.”
“I think, Kolkata Knight Riders will finish third. They may take out the IPL title during the final series,” Hogg signed off.
Let all the stories choose their own paths. The main thing is IPL will be staged and like the other seven teams KKR is also ready to bag the title for the third time and DK is pretty confident with this year’s KKR squad. He has mentioned several times that this year’s squad is much more balanced than the previous year. The stage is set and only 13 days are left to bring the stage on fire.
ISL club Jamshedpur FC has signed 32-year-old defender Peter Harley. The Englishman has joined Owen Coyle’s side for the Indian Super League 2020-21 season.
Harley comes at the back of a highly successful season with Motherwell FC in the Scottish Premiership. He captained the team to a 3rd place finish in the league. Motherwell FC finished only behind Scottish legacy teams – Celtic and Rangers. The defender helped his side to qualify for the UEFA Europa League 2020-21.
Hartley said after joining Jamshedpur FC: “I’m honoured to be given an opportunity to sign for Jamshedpur, a club with ambition to win. I certainly didn’t have to think twice about playing for Owen Coyle, a manager held in high regard. I promise to give 110% every single day in order to bring success and silverware to the Jamshedpur supporters. At every club that I have played for, my goal has always been to add glory to my jersey number till the day I depart.”.
Peter Hartley is a Sunderland AFC academy product. He has played 418 matches till now in his stellar career since his senior team debut in 2007. He has helped his team to keep 122 clean sheets and has scored 37 goals.
Owen Coyle said: “Hartley is a massive signing for us. He brings in so much experience from playing in the English leagues and the Scottish Premiership. He is a central defender with great capability and a born leader. He is a fighter who is mentally strong and a fierce competitor. Hartley hates conceding goals and that’s the attitude I need from my center-back.”.
Peter Hartley will hope to repeat his success with Jamshedpur FC in ISL as well. He will wear the No 29 shirt at Jamshedpur.
Today’s edition looks at how the new look and resurgent Tottenham Hotspur will look to stake a huge claim back in the Top 6 – or perhaps, even more. The highlight of the club in recent times has been the unveiling of a brand new documentary by Amazon under the “All Or Nothing” series, which covers the 2019/20 season and the highs and lows of it. One particular segment from the initial episodes which will also prove to be influential in the upcoming season was the hiring of Jose Mourinho as manager. So what can the ever so mysterious Spurs come up with the goods this time?
Transfer activity
Daniel Levy was probably impressed enough with the progress made by the Portuguese gaffer, so much so the North London club has decided to invest by getting 3 signings so far – Giovanni Lo Celso, Matt Doherty and Pierre Hojberg, who are all expected to challenge for first-team spots and if good enough, might even start featuring consistently. Spurs are also looking at Metz striker Habib Diallo after rumours for Callum Wilson of Bournemouth were played down. They may also look to sign Will Hughes from Watford to further strengthen the midfield department.
Strength
The true positive is the record under Mourinho itself and signs that the players are responding to the demands of his tactics and system. Since the “Special One” was hired, Tottenham have won a total of 12 from 24 Premier League with a total of 41 points, only bettered by Liverpool, Man City and Man United. Another positive is that Spurs look to play on the counter which works well most of the time in the Premier League and they have the players to execute it as well.
Weakness
Surprisingly, Mourinho has a more cherished currency in reducing goals conceded and clean sheets but that has not been the case. The defence has appeared leaky on occasions and seems to concede silly goals where errors could have been avoided, perhaps a reason why they made a move for Doherty as well. Another concern for Spurs seems to be the attacking intent that has lacked any plans when teams tend to sit back against them. Bar players such as Son, Kane and Alli there is no one significant who could come off the bench and create much to give the team victory.
Key players

There is no secret that mercurial striker Harry Kane will look to be the focal point of Spurs’ chances of pushing for Champions’ League qualification. Despite his injury, he managed 10 goals in the last season and was the top scorer. Another player who would be crucial to Spurs’ campaign would be Dele Alli, who Mourinho has long admired to get the best of and make him the golden boy pulling the strings in midfield. Marred by inconsistency, he will look to step up efforts and prove that he can make the difference when it absolutely matters.
Predicted table finish
6th Place: Tottenham definitely have enough in them to mount a serious Top 4 challenge. However, there are still doubts over whether they can get the wins consistently as well as keeping their top players fit to make it count.
Off late, in 2020 the TWS earbuds market has just exploded in India and people are buying them more than ever mainly because of the fact that they are much handier and the prices of these earbuds have dropped drastically. If 2019 was more dominant to Bluetooth neckbands, 2020 has been the year of TWS earbuds in India.
Well, there were a lot of brands who have helped to increase this market and it was dominated mostly by smartphone brands who have brought a variety of them to lure customers into their network. The strategy to create an all-round ecosystem of products have helped the smartphone giants like Realme and Xiaomi a lot and it is evident from the data provided by Counterpoint Research.
The Indian TWS earbuds market did register a year-on-year growth of an astonishing 656% growth in Q2 2020 and was led by Realme, Xiaomi, and JBL, respectively. These brands have brought a lot of TWS earbuds like the Realme Buds Air and Buds Q from Realme while Xiaomi’s success was driven by the likes of Redmi Earbuds S and Mi True Wireless 2. JBL, on the other hand, secured the third position with its best-selling C100TWS earbuds.
If the top 5 brands are to be considered for Q2 2020 then they are pTron with a 6% market share followed by boAt with 10% while JBL getting 15% and Xiaomi securing 20% and, Realme leading the chart with almost 22% market share.
Seems we are making the right noises! We are now the No.1 Hearables (TWS) Brand in India. This further strengthens our determination to provide #TechTrendsetter products & technologies to the youth as we move ahead towards becoming the Most Popular Tech-Lifestyle Brand. pic.twitter.com/A406MfdzTC
“Entry of players like Xiaomi and Oppo, and launch of more affordable devices pushed the average selling price (ASP) to the lower side, making it possible to reach a larger section of the population,” said Shilpi Jain, Research Analyst, on the market growth.
“Though the competition has intensified, this segment holds immense growth potential as it still represents just 10% of the hearables segment in India,” further said, Jain.
So this TWS hearable market is likely to grow even more as time progresses and we shall see more competition in the market helping consumers to get better products at cheaper products over time.
The 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) is scheduled to start from 19th September in UAE. BCCI decided to host this year’s IPL outside of India due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
All the IPL teams reached UAE last month and has been conducting training sessions. The final will be held on 10th November.
BCCI has now released the official schedule of Dream 11 IPL 2020. The tournament will begin with a blockbuster clash between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings on Saturday, 19th September in Abu Dhabi.
Here’s how the 8 IPL teams have reacted to the Dream 11 IPL 2020 schedule:
In India, the TV market was previously dominated by the electronics giant like Samsung, LG and Sony who occupied most of the market share then but things have changed drastically in last couple of years. With internet and IoT at our fingertips, every device has become smarter and TV has no exception as well.
Smart TVs were a myth a few years back and now India loves them more than ever, obviously there are few key players in that segment, and the Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi holding the lead since 2018. The Smart TV market have rised steadily and as Manu Kumar Jain, MD of Xiaomi India rightfully pointed out, the market in 2018 was only 15% for Smart TVs and has jumped to 50% in 2020, but Xiaomi continues to lead in terms of market share.
📂 2018 └📁 #SmartTV = 15% of TVs └📁 #MiTV: #1 smart TV brand
📂 2020 └📁 #SmartTV = >50% of TVs └📁 #MiTV: #1 smart TV brand
As Economic Times point out in their article Smart TVs are dominating the market simply because of the convinience that they offer, you can use them using you internet or just plugin a set top box to watch your traditional cable TV channels. A Smart TV nowadays opens a plethora of content that was unimaginable few years ago, because of the advent of a wide range of OTT platforms in India.
Well, at first Smart TVs weren’t cheap and the major players like LG, Samsung, Sony and others predominantly brought those into market with their own UI and Android TVs were out of reach for its astronomically high prices. Things changed as major smartphone manufacturers stepped into the TV segment and Xiaomi, who still continues to be the best selling smartphone brand started making Smart TVs at low cost.
This was followed by a number of brands like Kodak, Vu, Onida, Blaupunkt, and the list just continues, now apart from the traditional TV makers, almost all smartphone company has its own Smart TV lineup. It easier for a smartphone company to penetrate into the market because via a Smart TV one can make an ecosystem of its own AIoT products and Xiaomi is blatantly following this strategy.
Xiaomi’s low-cost Android Smart TVs to high-end 4K ones, it has got to offer something for every budget which is the key success of the company who has excelled both in online and offline presence recently. This market is ever-growing and Xiaomi continues to be the pioneer of it, and in the upcoming sales in Diwali, Xiaomi could pounce into the opportunity as almost 90% TVs could be Smart TVs.
