Manchester United boast of a brilliant young frontline, spearheaded by Rashford, Martial and Greenwood. However, an attack can only be so effective when it is not built over a shaky defence. 

Rio Ferdinand has long been an advocate for Manchester United to prioritise the signing of a dominant centre-back ahead of spending big money for “generational” talents like Jadon Sancho. And it is hard to disagree with the United legend.

Maguire has been quite dull on the field and has been guilty of switching off time and time again. That is certainly not what Manchester United had in mind when they forked out a world-record fee for the former Leicester man. 

Lindelof has proven himself as a footballer who is incapable of defending in 1-on-1 situations. Last week’s defeat to Crystal Palace was a prime example of that. 

To prove that the problem has been around for a long time now, have a look at Manchester United vs Sevilla in the Europa League last season. Luuk De Jong stole a header which should have been dealt by Lindelof but the Swede was ball watching instead. 

Such mistakes are not acceptable when one is playing for one of the biggest teams in England. Speaking to talkSPORT, Ferdinand urged United to go for a young, dominating centre-back before signing another attacker.

RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano was Ferdinand’s preferred choice, with Koulibaly becoming a less preferred option due to his age and the lack of resale value. However, either option would be an upgrade on the duo of Maguire and Lindelof. 

While not on the level of Smalling and Phil Jones, Maguire and Lindelof have left fans feeling uncomfortable with the defence every single week.

The watch features in new units of first-gen wearable 46mm case. This watch also features a flexible AMOLED display and is powered by the Snapdragon Wear 3100 (Snapdragon Wear 2500 for the Chinese version) and a low-power chip called the Apollo 3, paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage.

According to the OEM, the Watch can take its new measurements in real-time by a simple button shortcut and also can detect common heart anomalies like atrial fibrillation.

The OPPO Watch ECG Edition has more conventional heart-rate monitoring, as well as it also can vibrate to alert the user to these conditions. The OEM also claimed that this new watch is leveling up to ‘medical-grade’ due to its new ECG specification.

According to the post on Weibo, the device has been certified as a class II medical device by the National Food and Drug Administration. This watch has also got approval from the US FDA. 

Regarding the other specifications of this watch, the users will also get the facility of 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and NFC. Regarding the power-backup, this phone comes with a 430mAH battery supported by a VOOC Flash Charge. After wearing this watch, the user can easily check his/her ECG. This device senses the pulse rate and gives almost accurate ECG of the user.

Regarding the pricing, the stainless steel version of the watch has a price tag of ¥2499 (~$367). The watch is also attached to its maker’s partnership with League of Legends. The watch also has another special edition with this battle royale title as its theme.

IPL 2020 – RR vs KXIP: Match preview, Fantasy XI team, and Prediction

Day 9 of the IPL will feature two teams whom people weren’t talking about before the season started but are raising eyebrows across the cricketing community, Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab.

Interestingly, both the teams are coming off of phenomenal and almost flawless performances. However, in a league of high stature like IPL, consistency is the key.

It will be interesting to see how they back their previous wins.

Kings XI Punjab

KXIP is coming off its first win of the tournament. Luck wasn’t their friend in the first match. However, they covered up for it in the second won as they defeated RCB by a massive margin of 97 runs.

Skipper KL Rahul smashed an impressive 132 runs of just 69 balls to take KXIP at the massive score of 206. Other KXIP batsmen like Mayank Agarwal and Karun Nair added valuable contributions as well.

The bowlers, on the other hand, added final nails on the coffin as they restricted RCB to a score of only 109 runs.

Rajasthan Royals

Royals delivered a major upset as they defeated Chennai Super Kings in their first encounter. They were good in all three departments. Skipper Steve Smith adopted an opening role and scored a brilliant 69 runs off just 47 balls. However, the star of the show was young Sanju Samson who scored an impressive 74 of just 32 balls.

As per bowling is concerned, RR was able to get early wickets. Even though CSK went on to score 200, RR had already had the match in their control.

Fantasy XI League!

KL RAHUL (10.5) (C) – The KXIP skipper is in phenomenal form. He’ll be our captain.

MAYANK AGARWAL (9) – Aggarwal looked in great form. He will play an anchor like innings as Rahul smashes from the other end.

MOHD. SHAMI (9) – Shami looked phenomenal with his spell where he picked up 3 wickets in the first match and bowled well in the second as well.

RAVI BISNOI (8) – Bishnoi impressed everyone with his dynamic leg-spin. He picked up 3 important wickets in the last match.

MURUGAN ASHWIN (8) – M.Ashwin impressed everybody with his performance. He and Bishnoi ripped through the RCB batting lineup. Ashwin picked up 3 wickets as well.

STEVE SMITH (10) (VC) – Steve Smith looked in great form and thus will be out vice-captain.

JOS BUTTLER (10.5) – Pretty self-explanatory why the Englishman directly comes in.

SANJU SAMSON (9.5) – Samson looked phenomenal in his last match. The way he plays spin will be useful against M. Ashwin and Bishnoi.

YASHASVI JAISWAL (8) – Jaiswal may get another chance into the RR side.

RAHUL TEWATIA (8.5) – Tewatia bowled beautifully and got three wickets that too of Shane Watson, Sam Curran, and Ruturaj Gaikwad.

JOFRA ARCHER (9) – Archer bowled great as well and not to forget his innings where he hit Ngidi for four consecutive sixes!

PREDICTION

Royals will have to probably leave out David Miller in order to make place for Jos Buttler. That will make their top oder strong but middle-order a bit weak.

KXIP, on the other hand, is stacked in all departments. They’ve also discovered there own spin twins in Bishnoi and M. Ashwin. Therefore, Kings XI Punjab will defeat Rajasthan Royals.

Around a week ago Winfuture revealed that Microsoft is working on comparatively cheaper Surface laptops, some of which were spotted on Geekbench as well. Needless to say, combining both the Geekbench result and reports from the Winfuture, some specs like processor, RAM, and storage details came to the spotlight. Now, the same source, Winfuture, shared the pricing breakups.

As per its report, the base variant of the upcoming Surface laptop will cost $699.99 only and Microsoft is bringing six individual units in this lineup, the difference between two consecutive variants will be $100. That means, pricing of the six variants will be –

  2. $799.99
  3. $899.99
  4. $999.99
  5. $1,099.99
  6. $1,199.99

Though the price of the base model is not a small amount, it’s $300 lesser than the 13.5-inch Surface Laptop 3. Let you know, all the six upcoming variants will have the same 12.5-inch display.

Considering the earlier reports, new Surface Laptops will be powered by the Core i5-1035G1 processor. The base model will carry 4GB of RAM paired with 64GB and 128GB storages. Apart from these two, Microsoft will also release 256GB editions with 8GB and 16GB RAMs. The 128GB options will also available.

Summing up all the fresh information, here is the gist regarding the six new Surface Laptops –

The PS5 Input/Output (IO) system just got a massive supercharge by Oddle. As  Sony and Oodle tied hands together to level up the PS5 specifications.

Previously, the official specification of Play Station 5 articulated the console’s IO bandwidth at 5.5GB/s with uncompressed data and 8-9GB/s with compressed data. Now, it looks like it will give an IO bandwidth peak of 17.38GB/s after Sony partners with Oodle. The new Samsung 980 Pro PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD theoretically might have surpassed the raw speed of the PS5 SSD drive.

Moreover, the standard compression ratio of PS5 previously was 1.45/1 or 1.64/1, and now it will give an impressive compression ratio of 3.16/1 for a texture set in a recent game.

You might have known or heard that the PlayStation 5 would support the Kraken hardware decoder, and now Oodle has revealed that Sony also licensed Oodle Texture technology, which has been optimized for compressing GPU.

What’s Oodle Texture Technology?

It is a software library, used by the game developers at the time of content creation time to compile their source art into GPU-ready BC1-7 formats. The GPU texture encoders are used by all the games, but earlier encoders didn’t optimize the compiled textures for compression as Oodle Texture does. Since it is a new technology, fewer games will use it at the launch of PS5, but we expect more games in the future will use it.

What’s Oodle Kraken?

Oodle Kraken is a revolutionary new data compression algorithm that attains very high compression ratios with unheard fast decompression. It offers even bigger advantages for games when combined with Oodle Texture.

Expect more games on PS5 that will use both the new technologies combined, but for now, you will be able to see fewer games using both.

Arsenal set to sign Lyon’s Houssem Aouar

Houssem Aouar to Arsenal has been a transfer rumour for some time now. After concrete links with Man City and Juventus, it is now highly probable that Mikel Arteta has convinced the 22-year old French midfielder to join Arsenal. It is believed that agreeing personal terms with the player will not be an issue. With a 5-year contract and substantial wages increase on what he currently earns at Lyon, Aouar joining might seem only like a matter of time. But however, the bottleneck in the process seems to be the valuation difference. While Lyon want closer to €60 million, Arsenal are not prepared to pay that much. However, they have made a formal €35 million bid at the moment. 


Aouar has been coveted by some of the top clubs for some time now. And for good reason as well. Despite only 22, he has made around 100 appearances for the club so far. A midfielder adept in defence and attack, Aouar ticks most of the boxes for an all-rounder in the middle of the park. As per Whoscored, he made 1.1 tackles and 0.5 interceptions per game in Ligue 1 last season. Offensively, he created 1.8 chances per game and made 1.4 key passes per game. As far as attacking contributions goes, on an average, he has managed to score around 5 goals and provide 6 assists per season.

Aouar Arsenal set to sign Lyon's Houssem Aouar

The other option in midfield for Arsenal is Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey. But protected by a €50 million release clause, the London club is looking for other ways to pay up the money demanded. It remains to be seen who they choose between these two options. But should they go forward with Houssem Aouar, it would definitely be a top signing from the Gunners and yet another good player will be seen featuring frequently in the Premier League.

Young players are the most exciting part of football. From teenagers with potential to world-class performers on the pitch, the journey is simply too good for words. Towards that end, Barcelona has invested in their future by offering first team call ups, as well as official shirt numbers to three of their most talented young players. 

Carles Alena has been given the number 6 shirt following his return to the club after a spell with Real Betis. Trincao has been given the number 17 shirt, which as of last season was worn by Griezmann. 

The French striker has now been given his favored number 7 shirt, whereas former Barcelona number 7 Philippe Coutinho will be wearing number 14 for the 20/21 season. 

Coutinho won the treble with Bayern, with whom he spent the 19/20 season out on loan and infamously scored two goals in the 8-2 thrashing of Barcelona in the Champions League last season. 

Lastly, Pedri has been given the number 16 shirt as confirmed by the club. 

However, Riqui Puig and Ronald Araujo have been deemed surplus to requirements by new manager Ronald Koeman. This has been met with significant backlash from the Camp Nou faithful. 

Puig has been praised as far as being labeled as the future of the Barcelona midfield following the glory days of Xavi and Iniesta pulling the strings on the pitch every single time they played together. 

To send one of their brightest prospects out on loan, especially when the club are in dire need of new talents to revive their ambitions of European success is quite counter intuitive to say the least. 

Luis Suarez and Nelson Semedo have been the most recent departures from Camp Nou and the club has not yet managed to find a suitable replacement for the outgoing players. 

Talks with Inter for Lautaro Martinez have long died out whereas Ajax’s Dest seems to be on the verge of making the move to Camp Nou.

A new member is all set to join the Qualcomm Snapdragon family as according to Roland Quandit, Qualcomm is developing a new Snapdragon 7xx series chip called the Snapdragon 775G. Another leak claims that the 775G chipset is closely elated to the Snapdragon 875 chipset.

Regarding the fabrication process, it is rumored that SD 775G will be built on a 6 nm process whereas SD 765G has a built process of 5 nm. So, this will be definitely a massive upgrade in terms of the manufacturing process.

As of now, Quandt has not offered any performance-related news about the upcoming chipset. But according to some rumors and predictions, the upcoming SD 775G chipset will definitely have upwards of 40% faster CPU than the Snapdragon 765G, which Qualcomm will couple with a 50% more powerful GPU. On the other hand, it is expected that the Snapdragon 775G bears a close relationship with the Snapdragon 875.

According to Quandt, the chipset has been assigned the codename Cedros and the model number SM7350. Let’s see what are the other facilities the SD 775G will bring to its users. Right now, Qualcomm is in the testing phase of the SD 775G in a platform with support for 120 Hz display, 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 256 GB UFS 3.1 storage. The testing platform could be indicative of what Snapdragon 775G will support.

As of now, Qualcomm has not revealed any information about the unveiling of the Snapdragon 775G. The predecessor of SD 775G has been announced in December last year. So, we can hope that Qualcomm will introduce its newest SD 775G chipset in the upcoming two or three months. But it will take quite a few months more before any Snapdragon 775G-powered devices hit the market.
