Dell 14 5000 is the cheapest convertible notebook with Intel Tiger Lake CPUs

0

Intel’s 11th generation Tiger Lake processors are the latest entry of the company’s SoCs in the notebook market. Many OEMs have already adopted the new SKU line-up and have even decided to upgrade their existing machines with intel 10nm based chipsets.

Intel’s Tiger Lake processors are expected to be widely available on more laptops by the end of this month.

Dell’s new Inspiron 14 5000 2-in-1 notebook comes with the new Tiger Lake chipsets. The machine is powered by the Core i5-1135G7 processor and comes with all the next-gen SoCs’ goodies.

Dell 14 5000 is the cheapest convertible notebook with Intel Tiger Lake CPUs

The device is available for a final retail price of USD 650 after applying the code ’50OFF699′ at checkout, as claimed by the sources. The device is powered by a Core i5, which is more than enough for a casual browsing and streaming experience. It is sufficient for students to use. The new integrated Iris Xe iGPU makes light editing and gaming possible. Intel claims that the new GPU is enough to offer a gaming experience equal to a dedicated GeForce MX graphics.

The laptop offering such a low price means that the manufacturer must cut on some of the other specifications. The notebook sports 8GB RAM, which is a single-channel. Not to mention the display sports an outdated resolution of 768 pixels. Another variant available offers a display with a 1080p resolution, but that would increase the cost by $50.

The RAM, however, is still upgradable even on the 768p resolution variant. It is recommended to purchase the 1080p resolution model, as the 768p is an outdated feature and is worthless using with a 14-inch windows convertible.

The specifications of Dell 14 5000 2-in-1 notebook is given below:

  • Intel Core i5-1135G7 w/ Iris Xe graphics (96 EUs)
  • 14-inch 768p touchscreen (upgradeable to 1080p)

  • 40 Wh battery
  • 18.94 x 324.3 x 222.8 mm

Dell XPS 13 with Intel Tiger Lake falls behind AMD Ryzen 4000 series

0

A few weeks ago, we saw dell unveiling it’s upgraded XPS 13. The new XPS 13 would come with Intel’s latest Tiger Lake processor. We are yet to see how exactly the new machine fares up against its other competitors. But according to sources, the review website Phoronix has had its run with the upgraded device from Dell.

Phoronix mostly reviews devices in a Linux environment to vary from Windows 10 powered device.

According to sources, Phoronix has reviewed the notebook powered by the Core i7-1165G7 edition. It is worth remembering that the 1165G7 is the second most potent chip in Intel’s Tiger Lake-U series, behind the Core i7-1185G7.

Sources reported that the machine was tested on Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS with Linux 5.9 and Mesa 20.3-devel

The device was compared with the Core i7-8565U, Core i7-1065G7, Ryzen 5 4500U, and the Ryzen 7 4700U.

Phoronix reported that the Iris Xe Graphics G7 (96 EUs) in the device offers an increase in GPUs’ performance. The new Xe Graphics G7 beats the Vega 7 and Vega 5 GPUs in the benchmarks.

On the CPU side, Phoronix reports that the Core i7-1165G7 fell short against Ryzen 5 4500U and Ryzen 7 4700U. The Core i7-1165G7 faired 7% less than the RYzen 5 4500U and 18% less than RYzen 7 4700U.

The Dell XPS 13 is the best notebook in its class and is known for more than just its processor. The laptop made its impact on professionals with its excellent battery backup and top-quality display and build quality.

If Dell decides to upgrade its device with the upcoming Ryzen 5000 series, it will boost it. Dell decided to upgrade its XPS 13 with Tiger Lake; though the device received a much-needed upgrade, it still falls behind its competitors sporting the Ryzen 4000 series SoCs in performance.

Antoine Griezmann enroute Bale 2.0?

0

Once Barcelona spent €120 million on Antoine Griezmann, the expectations were undoubtedly high. A season later, things do not seem to be working out for the Frenchman at Camp Nou at all.

As we’re talking about the sport, let’s look into the matters on the pitch first. Griezmann was one of the best players at Atletico Madrid. He was with them when they won the league, he was with them when they came inches close to the Champions League. However, his form at the capital has not followed him to Catalonia.

Griezmann1 Antoine Griezmann enroute Bale 2.0?

The 29-year-old operates best as a lone striker, something that he has made evidently clear with his dig at Koeman following the victory against Croatia with France. However, his position at Camp Nou has been out on the wings, where the player is simply not used to being.

Leo Messi has been the one to play out through the middle while Griezmann has been pushed out to the right and has been tasked with defending and operating as a traditional winger. It is evident that the Frenchman is out of his depth while on the pitch.

griezmann Antoine Griezmann enroute Bale 2.0?

On the other side of things, he has struggled to adapt to the club. The World Cup winner is often ignored by the rest of the players and is rather lonely at the club. His recent public dig at Koeman does not help things either.

A lack of comfort can go a long way in preventing a footballer from performing on the pitch. And that is what seems to have happened. The fans haven’t taken too kindly to Griezmann either, and his situation is similar to that of Gareth Bale at Real Madrid.

Bale

Brilliant for the country, an unbelievable player, arrived at a hefty price tag, but not respected. The only difference lies in the fact that Gareth Bale is one of the most decorated players to have played for the club. And Griezmann does not have the time, nor the conditions to replicate the Welshman’s time at Madrid.

With Ousmane Dembele already being linked with a move away from Camp Nou, it might be the best option for the club to cash in on Griezmann rather than have him somewhere he does not want to be.
