Wayne Rooney poised for Derby County managerial post

From almost making it back to the Premier League under Frank Lampard to losing 5 out of their six opening matches this season, the journey has been tough for the Rams. 

A surprise loss can be explained away as a dip in form. However, when the losses continue to plague the team, the rumours start flying about something being wrong within the club. 

More often than not, fingers are pointed at the man at the helm. In this case, that man happens to be Phillip Cocu, the manager of the Midlands club.

The pressure is heavy on the shoulders of the Dutch tactician and the board could relieve the manager of his duties as soon as today or tomorrow. The reason being the East Midlands derby between County and Nottingham Forest. 

As fiercely as these competitions between local rivals are contested, all eyes will be on the boys from Pride Park as they look to turn around a terrible run of form against their bitter rivals in the Championship. 

The next in line for a managerial role at the Championship club is Wayne Rooney, a player-coach who is being groomed as a successor to Cocu as he pens the last chapter of his illustrious playing career.

However, fans would probably have to wait to see the former England skipper in charge of the historic club. The reason being owner Melvyn Morris’ reluctance to give Cocu a severance package worth millions of pounds. 

To make things even more complicated, the other coaches at the club are also under contract for a few more years. Severance packages for them would also cost the club heavily. 

Should County’s form continue, Morris will be left with little choice but to relieve Cuco of his duties as manager. As for Rooney, the Man United legend is yet to complete earning his UEFA coaching badges. 

Until that takes place, he will have to be helped out by senior coaches at the club. However, only time will tell how Derby County’s woes play out.

They broke a nine-year-old record of 159 runs by Mike Hussey and Murali Vijay. It is also the fourth-highest opening partnership in IPL history.

Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Mohammed Siraj created IPL history as he became the first player to bowl back-to-back maiden overs in the Indian Premier League.

Micromax has announced that they will bring a new “In” series of smartphones pretty soon to the Indian market. Now the wait is over as the company has finally announced the launch date of the “in” series which is November 3 this year. This is an Indian company that is making its comeback to the market. So, it is a pretty good step from the Indian Government, and is expected that after a long time, Micromax will make a good place in the market of smartphones in India.

Moreover, Micromax has shared a video regarding this in series on the internet, featuring a Hindi phrase: “Aao karein Cheeni kum”. This is definitely an indication regarding China and its Chinese smartphones. On the other hand, for the 3GB variant, there will be a triple rear camera setup with a combination of 13-megapixel, 5-megapixel, and 2-megapixel sensors. For the selfies, the 3GB variant will offer a 13MP selfie shooter at the front.

The main highlight of those phones are will run Stock Android out-of-the-box. So no more bloatware apps or unnecessary ads will be there. Coming to the battery, those phones are expected to be fueled up by a decent 5,000mAH battery. In terms of the pricing, those upcoming In series are expected to carry a price tag around something Rs.7,000 to Rs.15,000. As per some leaks, there will be a Blue-coloured box-with “In” written on the retailer box of the smartphone.

AMD’s upcoming EPYC Zen 3 based processor will power the LUMI supercomputer

AMD’s next-generation Zen 2 and Zen 3 based processors are all set to debut their desktop-grade and server-grade CPU market. However, reports have arrived stating that AMD is all set to debut its next-gen EPYC CPUs and Radeon Instinct GPUs in the Large Unified Modern Infrastructure supercomputer Kajaani, Finland.

HP or Hewlett Packard Enterprise announced the manufacturing of the LUMI supercomputer. The machine will be using the company’s HPE Cray EX architecture to deliver more than half the Exaflops of performance. The supercomputer is based in Finland and will be fully operational by late 2021. The LUMI will be among the top 5 supercomputers that will feature 1.5 to 2.5 Exaflops of computing horsepower.

HPE released its official statement, “AMD is proud to join with HPE to power the upcoming LUMI supercomputer to advance scientific research in artificial intelligence, weather forecasting, pharmaceutical discovery, and more. Our next-generation AMD EPYC CPUs and AMD Instinct GPUs, coupled with HPE’s unique supercomputing technologies, are fueling new capabilities in high-performance computing, and we are excited to strengthen the European research community through our support.” 

The LUMI will feature AMD’s next-generation EPYC CPUs. However, the CPU variant is still unknown, but sources claim that the new CPU will most likely by Zen 3 base Milan. The supercomputer will reportedly come with 200,000 AMD EPYC Zen 3 cores and a 30 Petabytes capacity storage system. It will have 7 Petabytes of Flash-Based storage capacity offering bandwidths of up to 2 TB/s.

With AMD taking the next step in powering supercomputer devices, it looks like Intel is staring at some significant competition in the comping year. As to how the silicon giant will react to this new update remains to be seen.

Facebook-owned messaging application WhatsApp was testing the ‘Always Mute’ feature for quite a long time. It was firstly spotter on the Betas, in the earlier versions. Now, the platform enables this feature permanently for all users. It will be visible in the place of the mute for the ‘1 Year’ option. That means you will get three-time duration options – 8 hours, 1 week, and always.

If you are wondering how to enable this option, well, that’s very simple, no matter either you are using WhatsApp on iOS, Android, or on the Web.

In Android, open the chat you want to mute, tap on the three-dot option in the top right corner, and hit on “Mute Notifications.” You will get all three options, including ‘Always”. If you are one of the iPhone users, open the particular chat, tap on the chat head, and go for the Mute option.

Lastly, you need to select the time duration. In the Web version, the process is the easiest. It would help if you moved the cursor on the chat, click on the down arrow appeared on the right to get the “Mute Notifications” option.

Cryptocurrency is being pushed for online uses and purposes. But very few online digital transaction providers offer the usage of Cryptocurrency. Almost none of the digital payment providers offer crypto transactions.

However, the payment giant PayPal now intends to offer cryptocurrency services to its customers.

PayPal is reportedly holding talks on a possible acquisition BitGo. BitGo is an enterprise cryptocurrency wallet that also provides custodial service. The startup also offers crypto mining and transactions.

BitGo also offers enterprise-grade multiuser cryptocurrency wallets along with an application programming interface to access its security platform. Its wallets are multi-signature, requiring a transaction to have two or more signatures before being executed.

The company is even involved in security, compliance, and custodial solutions for blockchain-based currency operations.

According to sources, the potential price that PayPal needs to bid to complete the acquisition will at least be more than $170 million. Now that the cryptocurrency markets are growing more popular, with many traditional investors and corporations realizing the importance of crypto transactions, the acquisition’s bid is still expected to increase.

However, BitGo is not just any individually sponsored organization; instead, the crypto service provider has investors such as Goldman Sachs, Galaxy Digital Ventures, Valor Equity Partners, Craft Ventures, DRW, and Redpoint Ventures. The organization is the primary service provider to crypto companies like Binance, Coinbase, and Nexo.

According to sources, PayPal is not just eyeing to acquire BitGo alone. Reports indicate that the digital payment giant is looking to purchase even more crypto service providers to expand its cryptocurrency service to its broad customer base. The move comes amid increasing cyber crimes, and acquiring more than one crypto service provider will increase PayPal’s chances of thwarting any threats towards its crypto market.

Intel is completely trying to make a new beginning to bounce back into the market with their first big announcement coming in the form of Tiger Lake CPUs.

However, now the silicon giants position as the best is being questioned.

For example, its 10nm processor was initially planned for 2017, but it is picking up only in 2020. However, its 7nm process chipsets have been delayed for now, and the launch date has not been revealed yet.

Sony’s upcoming next-gen console will sport high-end specifications and is on the list of every gamer. The list of exclusive games being made available is the primary attraction for this console. But, now it seems that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The latest announcement from sony stands to make the PlayStation 5 even more than desirable than before.

PlayStation 5 will not just be used for gaming, but the console can also be used to stream movies and TV shows from some popular entertainment apps upon its launch.

Sony officially confirmed that a total of six entertainment apps would be made available on its PlayStation 5 starting from November 12.

The entertainment apps supported by PS5 will be; the Apple TV Plus, Disney Plus, Netflix, Spotify, Twitch, and YouTube.
