Samsung Exynos 9000’s to sport ARM Mali-G78 MP24

0

We already know that Samsung is looking to establish itself in the semiconductor market and has been trying very hard to make its home-brewed SoCs more appealing to its customer base. However, we already know that Samsung’s Exynos 990 was a big disappointment for the users and Samsung authorities.

The companies SoCs are falling behind the Qualcomm processors and lost majorly against Apple and even against MediaTek. However, Samsung desperately tries to launch new processors to make a comeback in the mobile processor market.

Recent reports have indicated the leaked benchmark scores of the companies upcoming line of Exynos SoCs. According to sources, the Kirin 9000 and Exynos 1080’s have appeared on the AnTuTu score, and the results are pretty impressive.

Both the SoC’s sport the new ARM Mali-G78 MP24 GPU. And are a powerhouse in performance. Reports claim that the flagship GPU based on an ARM can give Qualcomm’s powerful Adreno 660 a run for its money, at least in theory. However, based on tech analysts’ several tests, the Mali-G78 MP24 is a massive power hog and is the reason behind significant battery consumption in the new Huawei Mate 40.

The leaker Ice Universe tweeted a power test run on the new ARM Mali-G78 GPU, and the results show that the GPU will still consume a lot of power in graphics processing. The test indicated that GPU utilizes up to 14W of power on full load and about 9W of power on average use. The score seems exceptionally high concerning a mobile GPU and is stated to be the result that the GPU has 24 cores.

However, it is worth remembering that the GPU tests were all carried out on pre-production units. These results cannot be compared with the GPU’s actual performance when the smartphones will hit the market. It is better to avoid passing on any judgment regarding the GPU’s performance or its power usage.

WhatsApp moves to consumer service strategy over running Advertisements

1

Facebook is the world’s leader in the social media platform. The company owns its social media web portal Facebook and is also the world’s most famous messenger and media sharing platform. That’s right; we are talking about Whatsapp and Instagram.

We all know how the social media giant makes its millions; let’s have a quick revamp of Facebook strategy for those who don’t. It’s nothing too complicated; the company runs advertisements from thousands of companies on its social media platform, accessed by millions of its users.

But now the company seems to be adopting a different money-making strategy with its Whatsapp unit.

The company is pushing more into offering customers service features that also include pay-to-message options for businesses. The messaging service seems to focus more on enterprise tools rather than advertising.

Matt Idema, WhatsApp’s chief operating officer, stated, “Our focus has been on the business messaging products.” he also said that WhatsApp is not wholly ditching advertisement but will host them inside Status.

Facebook currently charges some businesses a small fee for sending users things like receipts and confirmation reminders via Whatsapp.

The company is gearing up to offer more API features to businesses, including free storage, to host a business’s messages. Whatsapp aims to attract businesses in using its API features riding on the high level of encryption that the messaging service offers.

Facebook plans to offer a combination of commerce and customer service. Businesses will be charged to send messages through the messaging service’s API, which seems like the only way WhatsApp can make money today.

Whatsapp is also planning to add digital payment features through its messaging service, but it intends to hit a roadblock in many countries, including India. The regulations argue that using private messaging to make monetary transactions is not a safe way to bet.

Tesla in talks with Maharashtra government to bring their EV’s into India

0

Tesla is the leading brand that manufactures Electric Vehicles and plans to revolutionize its cutting-edge innovations. Company’s CEO Elon Musk announced earlier that he intends to launch Tesla vehicles in India next year.

Following this announcement from Tesla’s CEO, Maharashtra’s tourism and environment minister, Aaditya Thackeray, has claimed that he and the industries minister, Subhash Desai, has held a video conference with the Tesla executives and have successfully invited them to the state.

The minister claimed that his firm belief in sustainable and environment-friendly growth has made him active in bringing the electric vehicle maker in the country. Aditya Thackeray stated that “I was present not because of just the investment but my firm belief in electric mobility & sustainability.”

On the other hand, Musk replied to a tweet from The Tesla Club India wrote: “next year for sure.” However, he failed to offer an official timeline for the proposed launch. It is worth noting that Musk announced its plan to launch the companies vehicles in the country last year.

The company has been experimenting with cutting-edge technologies to develop more environmentally friendly vehicles that help preserve our environment.

In a country like India, where the population is the world’s second-largest, pollution is supreme. The government taking the initiative to bring the EV company in the country will aid in environmental protection and increase its jobs.

Establishing EVs’ sales is essential, but what’s more important is setting up a manufacturing plant. Due to the pandemic raging strong, unemployment has reigned supreme in the country. If Tesla establishes its production house in the country, it will boost our economy by increasing the citizens’ job opportunities. Our government finally taking a step towards the future of tech is a notable achievement, but it shouldn’t stop with only just Tesla.

Intel Xeon road map 2020-2022 leaked

0

Intel is the semiconductor manufacturing market leader and has held the crown as the best for three decades. Recently, however, the company seems to be losing its footing in the silicon market, with competitors like Advanced Micro Systems pushing forward with next-generation processors in the desktop and data center market. Intel seems to be desperately trying to make a comeback in the semiconductor market.

A leak made by Videocardz reveals intel’s roadmap for its Xeon platform. The alleged roadmap addresses the wafer manufacturers several plans for its Ice Lake and Sapphire Rapid Chipsets. The roadmap states that the Ice Lake SoCs will be launched in the first quarter of 2021, while the Sapphire Rapids will be found in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Intel Ice Lake is based on a 10nm design and seems to be missing a lot of features. Sapphire Rapids, on the other hand, are the high-performance architectures from Intel. The Ice Lake chipsets will only be running until Intel finally gets its 10nm SuperFin Enhanced process up and running in its labs.

The wafer manufacturer had confirmed the launch of its Sapphire Rapids CPU platform in the year 2021. The architecture will feature DDR5 memory support and PCIe 5.0, making the processor truly next-generation among its competitors. The addition of the CXL 1.1 will increase Sapphire Rapid architecture’s demand in the data center chip market.

Sapphire Rapids will consist of 4 CPU tiles with 14 cores each. The CPUs will contain 4 HBM2 stacks with a maximum memory of 64 GB (16GB each). The bandwidth offered from these stacks will be 1 TB/s. according to sources, the HBM2 and GDDR5 will be able to work together in flat, caching/2LM as well as in hybrid modes

Sources claim that the Sapphire Rapids will ship with 80 PCIe 5.0 lanes on the flagship parts and up to 64 routes for the rest. DDR5 memory up to 4800 MHz will be present as well for all its variants.

AMD is also gearing to launch new processors based on its next generation of Zen 3 processors and PCIe 5.0 support. As to how well the two rivals collide in the data center chip market remains to be seen.

UFC 254: Khabib Nurmagomedov defeats Justin Gaethje and announces his retirement from MMA

0

UFC 254 featured a fight for lightweight royalty as dominant undefeated champ Khabib ‘The Eagle’ Nurmagomedov took on interim champ Justin ‘The Highlight’ Gaethje

Gaethje was considered by many as probably the toughest test of Nurmagomedov’s career keeping in mind his wrestling pedigree to go along with his striking. Khabib, however, nullified all of that as he submitted Gaethje to sleep to defend his belt for the third time.

The win extended his MMA record to an undefeated and unprecedented 29-0 (13-0 UFC). There were many interesting opportunities lying ahead of him considering he’s only 32, however, in his post-fight interview, Khabib announced his heartfelt and emotional retirement from the sport.

The retirement came as a shock wave across the MMA community. However, it was understandable keeping in mind his father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov passed away earlier in July from complications arising from COVID-19. Abdulmanap has been a pioneer of the sport in Russia and has been the primary coach, mentor, and best friend for Khabib.

Khabib’s emotional goodbye to the sport!

“It was my last fight. There’s no way I’m going to come here without my father,” he said. “It was the first time after what happened with my father, when the UFC called me about (fighting) Justin, I talked with my mother for three days.

“She didn’t want me to fight without father, but I promised her it was going to be my last fight, and if I give my word, I have to follow this. It was my last fight here.

“I know only one thing I want from the UFC: Tuesday, you guys have to put my number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world because I deserve this.

“Undisputed UFC lightweight champion, 13-0, 13 in the UFC, 29 in my pro MMA career. I think I deserve this.”

Khabib Nurmagomedov, one of the best fighters to ever step inside the MMA octagon!

Khabib made his UFC debut back in January 2012 with a record of 16-0. What made him stood out is his unique style of fighting. Being a master of Sambo, which is a mixture of wrestling with submissions, his dominating style had him under the radar.

He took on a decorated wrestler Abel Trujillo in May 2013. Despite Trujillo being a wrestler, Nurmagomedov took him down 21 times in the fight to make a UFC record. He then extended his dominance to absolutely maul Rafael Dos Anjos who himself became a champion later on.

Nurmagomedov then became the UFC lightweight champion by dominating late replacement Al Iaquinta. That set up for an ugly rivalry against arch-rival Conor McGregor. He then took on McGregor at UFC 229 in October 2018. He again mauled McGregor before submitting him in the fourth round. The fight is the highest watched MMA fight to date.

Nurmagomedov then took on another interim champion Dustin Poirier. Poirier was coming off with consecutive wins over four former world champions, but Khabib made it looked easy as he submitted Poirier at UFC 242 in September last year.

He will be forever known as one of the best fighters to have ever graced the MMA octagon.

Manchester City drop points yet again to West Ham as title challenge suffers faltering start

0

It has not been a great opening 5 matches in the Premier League for Manchester City and Pep Guardiola. The Citizens have won 2, drawn 2 and lost 1 match so far. And though, that might be acceptable for a side challenging for mid-table or Europa League qualification, it will not be enough to make an assault for the title and claim it back from defending champs Liverpool.

Many doubts have crept in as to why such a lowly return has been endured by City, who are usually the pioneers at creating attacking football plays and scoring goals at will. But, Pep Guardiola needs to find a consistent set of solutions and fast, if they are to have any kind of league success.

West Ham United 1-1 Manchester City: Michail Antonio scores spectacular goal for Hammers - BBC Sport

For starters, one theory might be that the tactical philosophy has seen players stagnate over time using the same set of methods. In that sense, the backroom staff need to identify if opponents have started to catch a trend against City and could as well congest the middle areas, and put two banks of four to restrict any kind of possible pressing.

Further, there has been a lot of sideways pressing in recent times, which has seen a lack of penetration in the final third. The forwards are also creating diagonals and the inability of full-backs to provide the width means that by the time they arrive in key areas, there are blocks of defenders waiting to steal the ball.

Man City paid the price for not trusting their usual approach vs West Ham - Joe Bray - Manchester Evening News

Another possible reason for this slow start is the fact that these set of players have not had a proper pre-season. In that sense, the first 8-10 games of the new campaign have acted as an auxiliary time for the players at City to adjust to the demands.

Building chemistry is very important for any team, and the results might start to be seen as we approach the second international break. Regardless, it should not take much time for a club like Manchester City who need to buck up their ideas and start executing the plans and string a victorious run if they want to win the league.

El Clasico review: Real Madrid back at the top while Barcelona slump at 12th

0

Despite the absence of fans, the first El Clasico of the 20/21 season did not disappoint, as Real Madrid managed to get the better of the hosts to push a 3-1 victory.

The stakes were extremely high for Zinedine Zidane in particular, whose team headed into the match on the back of two extremely shocking defeats to Cadiz and Shakhtar Donetsk.

The scoring opened early in the match, as Karim Benzema played a brilliant ball to send Fede Valverde on a run, and the youngster managed to score a well-taken goal from close to the edge of the penalty box.

Real’s early lead against their bitter rivals was short-lived, as Barcelona equalised only minutes after Fede Valverde’s goal. Jordi Alba whipped in a brilliant low cross from the left flank to find the feet of Ansu Fati. The youngster made an incredible run to put himself into position to finish the ball and beat Thibaut Courtois in the 8th minute.

Ronald Koeman’s gamble of starting Pedri and Fati over Dembele and Griezmann respectively did its job. However, things did not go so well for the Blaugrana in the second half.

Following a corner close to the hour mark, Sergio Ramos went down in the penalty area after his shirt was pulled by rival centre back Lenglet. The referee decided to award Real a penalty after consultation with VAR, and the Real Madrid skipper obliged to put Los Blancos back in the lead.

Barcelona created some good chances after the penalty but did not manage to take them. In the end, a newly introduced Luka Modric scored a goal in the 90th minute to guarantee all three points for Real Madrid.

Modric’s goal was the result of a scramble, and the Ballon d’Or winner did well to find the back of the net to bury all hope for the hosts.

Barcelona are currently 12th in the table, with 7 points from 5 games whereas Real Madrid are back at the top of the table with 13 points from 6 games.
