We all know Foxconn, the Taiwan based company manufacturing most of the iPhones for Apple. Though it’s not the only thing the company does. Recently it posted the profit details of the last quarter and that’s in a better condition than expected. This boost is coming from the server and computing businesses mainly. On the other side, due to the pandemic condition, the revenue that comes from consumer products slashed by over 15% on the YoY basis.
As per the company report, its net profit is T$22.9 billion, around 778.54 million USD and it is around 34% more than the past year. Unfortunately, in this third quarter, Foxconn is expecting a double-digit downfall in overall revenue and a 10% drop in the consumer electronics division.
The Chairman of Foxconn Liu Young-way said to an investor that the gross margin of the company could go up to 7% by next year and it will be possible by boosting the growth of its component business sector. In the last quarter, this gross margin was 5.91%.
He also said that the tension between the US and China is affecting Foxconn. Though the company, at present, is manufacturing nearly 30% of its products outside of China, and the percentage may increase in the coming days.

Gaming requires lots of space and you do need an HDD, and if you do want to game on this PC then go for this SSHD, a faster solution than traditional HDDs but is a bit costly. If you do not want to game get a 4TB HDD at the same price or use a 2TB SSD instead, the choice is yours.

You’ll be surprised to know that Arda Turan was a Barcelona player till June 2020. He signed from Atletico Madrid in 2015 on a five-year deal. He was contracted to the Blaugranas until 2020. But not many knew that Arda Turan was still a Barcelona player even till the last seaon.
The Turkish international was at the top of his career playing for Atletico Madrid. He was an instrumental player in Simeone’s side. He signed for Barcelona in 2015 and was expected to have the same impact.
Luis Enrique had Turan in his Barcelona plans. He scored 15 goals in 55 games in his first two seasons at Camp Nou. But Ernesto Valverde joined in 2017 and Turan’s nightmare started. He was completely frozen out by Valverde.
Valverde didn’t give Turan a single start in the first half of 2017-18 season and was loaned to Istanbul Basaksehir in the winter transfer window. He spent two and half years at Turkey and helped Basaksehir to their first-ever Super Lig title this year.
Arda Turan told beIN Sports: “I arrived at Barcelona as Atletico Madrid’s starting No.10, as an important player. I also played an important role at Barcelona until the arrival of Valverde, who made me feel insignificant.”

Now, Arda Turan has decided to leave Barcelona and have joined his boyhood club Galatasaray. But he insisted that no one forced him to leave Barcelona and it was his own decision.
The 30-year-old said: “No one, including Valverde, has forced me out of Barcelona. I have made the decision to leave.”
“I can’t stay if I’m not happy somewhere, whether it’s Barcelona or the most important club. Money was never the priority for me.”
Valverde was sacked last season and was replaced by Quique Setien but Turan has left Barcelona this summer. Although he had a successful time at Basaksehir he doesn’t feel he made the right career choice.
Turan added: “Did I make the right decision by signing for Basaksehir? No disrespect to them, but looking back now, I feel I have made a bad decision with regards to my career.”
Arda Turan’s infamous Barcelona spell has finally ended in June 2020 and he will now play for his childhood club Galatasaray. Turan had gone from ballboy to captain at Galatasaray by the age of 21 and was key during Turkey’s run to the semi-finals of Euro 2008. Recently, Nvidia’s Geforce account officially posted a teaser and a countdown to the official launch of its next-generation Ampere gaming GPUs with the ultimate countdown of 21 years and 21 days, Nvidia had teased a video of a star going supernova. After this announcement, speculations are arising of the release of the new lineup of RTX 30xx series Nvidia’s GPU and current rumors indicate that Ampere will find its way into the upcoming GeForce RTX 3090, RTX 3080, RTX 3070, and RTX 3060 graphics cards. Models may also include a suffix like Ti, Super, or even Ultimate.
On 31st August i.e. on their 21st Anniversary, the rumor is that Nvidia is most likely to announce RTX 3080 Ti & RTX 3080 Custom Cards at Launch with a huge boost in terms of total memory capacity. According to the leaks, the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti will feature the GA102-300-A1 GPU.
It is said that the GA102-300-A1 GPU will be comprised of 5248 CUDA cores or 82 SMs i.e. there will be a 20% increase in cores over the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. There are no details such as clock speeds, TMU/ROP counts are provided till now. Statements suggest that the RTX 3080 Ti card will get up to 20 GB memory with faster GDDR6 pin speeds.
There is a 320-bit bus in it and it will be nearly able to offer 1 TB/s bandwidth considering that the new GDDR6X memory which is rumored for this graphics card runs at higher speeds than the existing GDDR6 memory which can clock up to 16-18 Gbps.
For GeForce RTX 3080, the rumor reports that the card will be featuring the GA102-200-KD-A1 SKU. This SKU will feature the same 4352 CUDA cores as the RTX 2080 Ti has and that will be arranged in a total of 68 SMs. This card will reportedly be going to feature 20 GB of memory that is also going to be GDDR6X, with the running speed of 19 Gbps across a 320-bit bus interface with a bandwidth of 760 GB/s. The interesting thing is the switch to GA102 from TU104 on the RTX 3080. As it is using a high-end SKU it would also result in higher wattage and thermals.
I speculate that Nvidia will first launch their long-awaited and rumored RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3080 in September and then other RTX 30XX lineups in successive months. The price will be premium and probably more costly than RTX 2080 Ti. For high-end gamers, this beast will be insanely powerful and can run the latest and upcoming games to the fullest graphics settings.
The UEFA Champions League ‘Final Eight’ tournament has started from Wednesday. Atalanta hosted Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain in the first quarter-final of the Champions League.
PSG were the favourites to progress to the semi-finals but Atalanta impressed the whole world with their free-flowing and clever football. The Serie A side suddenly became everyone’s second-favourite team.
Atalanta went into an early 1-0 lead when Pasalic scored in the 27th minute. Many thought that the Italian club would inflict a massive heartbreak on PSG. They were winning the match deep into the 89th minute and everyone except few PSG fans were already celebrating Atalanta’s rise in European football.
But Neymar and Mbaape had other things in mind. The two football superstars combined excellently but were unable to find the final finishing touch.
In the whole match, Neymar was in the middle of almost every PSG attack. He got into excellent positions but his finishing was way off the mark. Late into the 90th minute Neymar finally sent a deflected pass in Marquinhos way and he scored the equaliser. Atlanta was unable to hold the lead. Their durability wore off in the last minutes.
Everyone was preparing for extra-time but Mbappe, who returned from injury and came on in the second half, made an excellent run which Neymar spotted and fed the ball beautifully to him. Mbappe picked out Choupo-Moting in front of goal and he scored the late winner from PSG in the 93rd minute. In a space of 5 minutes, PSG made a comeback from 0-1 down to win the match by 1-2.
Atalanta’s goalscorer Pasalic told Sky Sport Italia: “It’s a pity, we were so close, but that’s the Champions League, teams with quality upfront can score two goals in two minutes. The disappointment is there, so are regrets, but we want to look forward and be more prepared for the Champions League next season.”
“We did all we possibly could, there’s no doubt about that, but these teams have so much individual quality that they can hurt you at any moment. I think we proved that we can fight it out with the strongest opponents and I hope we can do the same in the Champions League next season.”

The 13th edition of IPL has seen a lot of barriers starting from the Coronavirus pandemic to VIVO pulling out of the title sponsorship deal for 2020.
In order to tackle the above-mentioned barriers, BCCI is hosting the IPL 2020 outside India in UAE and is also looking to get on-board a title sponsor as quickly as possible.
But, today another news has come out stating that the deal renewal between IPL’s official streaming partner Hotstar and Jio TV could not be reached for the IPL 2020. The deal is currently in limbo and seems to be off.
According to a report by exchange4media, Hotstar and Jio TV are still unable to strike a renewal deal for streaming the IPL 2020. “In March negotiations regarding streaming of live IPL matches on Jio TV through Hotstar were still on, but the parties had not come to an agreement. The deal is supposedly off now. However, you would not know until last minute, anything can happen.” said an unnamed official.
Jio TV offered its customers free streaming of IPL while Hotstar charges its viewers after five free-minutes. According to industry experts, most of Hotstar’s reach in IPL 2019 came via Jio TV.
Hotstar claimed they crossed 300 million viewers for IPL 2019 and registered a 74% increase in watch time in comparison to the IPL 2018 edition. This increase was mainly due to the free streaming by Jio TV. But with the deal likely off, Hotstar could face a massive fall in viewership.
Rikki Agrawal, Co-founder, Chief Business & Operating Officer, Blink Digital said about this deal being off: “Business collaborations are the bedrock of symbiotic growth and with the deal between Hotstar and Jio being taken off the table, it is likely to see a heavy impact on the overall reach. Jio has been able to penetrate a large segment of India that no other network provider has done before.”
If Hotstar and Jio TV could not agree on a deal for IPL 2020, Hotstar’s reach could take a hit which will also affect their advertising revenue.
Hotstar earned around Rs 300 crores from advertising during IPL 2019. In this current market situation due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the deal with Jio TV in limbo, it seems Hotstar’s advertising revenues would fall down significantly.
The Taiwan chip manufacturing giant wants to leap forward with its rapid advancements in the semiconductor industry and wants to invest more in its advanced process manufacturing. The global leader, according to Digitimes, plans to invest US$5.27 billion to both install and expand its advanced technology capacity.
TSMC is already delivering 5nm process nodes and now it plans to deliver 4nm and 3nm process nodes while its 2nm node is in research. This huge investment is towards installation of specialty technology and advanced packaging capacity along with fab construction, installation of fab facility systems and capitalized leased assets, fourth-quarter 2020 R&D capital investments and sustaining capital expenditures.
TSMC’s board also approved a NT$2.50 per share cash dividend for the second quarter of 2020, when the company reported net profits surged 81% on year and a slight 3.3% sequentially to NT$120.82 billion (US$4.1 billion) with EPS coming to NT$4.66, or US$0.78 per ADR unit.
In addition, the board approved the issuance of US dollar-denominated unsecured corporate bonds for up to US$1 billion and the provision of a guarantee to TSMC Global, a wholly-owned foreign subsidiary of TSMC, for its issuance of US dollar-denominated senior unsecured corporate bonds for up to US$3 billion. Proceeds from the bond issue are to finance TSMC’s capacity expansion.
The major demand in TSMC’s chips has made it the world’s no 1 chip manufacturer beating the likes of Samsung, Intel and others. Obviously, it plans big in future with these kinds of investments and the company has even promoted its business development VP Kevin Zhang to be the company senior VP.

Yes, the parent company of TikTok wants help from India’s wealthy Reliance Industries Limited for financially backing TikTok’s recently banned business in India. As TechCrunch reports, both of these companies are in early discussion and ByteDance doesn’t want to lose its biggest market by users.
TikTok has been banned in India for quite some time now mainly because of the backslash between India and China due to the border tensions. Also, there’s have security concerns regarding the data of Indians as well that has led the Indian govt. ban a lot of Chinese apps in India, including TikTok, which cannot even be accessed using VPN in India.
TechCrunch‘s sources have said that Reliance and ByteDance began their conversations from late last July and have yet to reach a deal between the two. The short video streaming app is a massive one in India as it has around 200 million users there, before the ban, and it’s being evaluated at more than $3 billion.
ByteDance does have a chance to prove itself before the Indian govt. and prove itself wrong of all its breaches. The company has almost 2,000 employees in the country. So, their fate hangs obviously as because if ByteDance cannot prove themselves guilty then they have to sell their operations in India and so they seek help from RIL.
Reliance has totally changed its fate in India with its investments and services via Jio Platforms and is trying to enter in every business it possibly could. Howsoever the company’s apps may be, they lack that eccentricity and uniqueness which doesn’t make any app of their huge chain a huge success, the apps under Jio’s banner look more of a business-centric rather than being exciting.
Jio is nearing the 400 million subscriber mark and potentially looking forward to gaining more users next year with 5G rollout in the country. In the meantime, if they somehow, get TikTok back running or even buys its operations that would make a serious impact among users because Indian people have trust in Jio Platforms.
ByteDance has even assured all of its 2000 employees that it plans to resolve issues with the Indian government and does not intend to layoff employees in the country. In the US, the app is facing a lot of trouble, after being banned in India the Trump govt. does not want to see the Chinese app up and running while TikTok wants to sue back the govt. and also is in talks with Microsoft for a potential takeover.
Obviously, a deal with the world’s fourth-richest man backed Reliance Industries will help its stay in the country and not to forget the fact that Mukesh Ambani and India’s PM Narendra Modi do share a good relationship with each other. Potentially this is an interesting development and we are yet to see the fate of the TikTok in India in the coming days.

The upcoming update of Google Maps is bringing two major updates. To be specific, one feature is returning back and the other one is new. The older feature which is returning is the support to Apple Watch and the new feature is Apple’s CarPlay Dashboard support.
In the official blog post, Google wrote, “With compatibility for Apple’s CarPlay and a new app for the Apple Watch, people using iOS devices can safely and easily navigate with Google Maps right from their car or wrist,”

As I mentioned, this feature is returning again. Back in 2017, Google withdrew Maps support for Apple Watch but promised to bring it back again. So, Google is keeping its promise now. The global rollout of this feature is scheduled in the coming weeks.
After the rollout, the Apple Watch users can get all the directions along with the estimated arrival time on their wrists. This will happen for the saved destinations. In other cases, the user can resume the navigation where s/he ends on the phone.
Apple’s CarPlay Dashboard
This feature will reach to the users this week with the next iOS update. Due to Apple’s CarPlay Dashboard users can get the media playback option, calendar notifications, and more without leaving the direction updates. All the additional things will be displayed on a split-screen. Needless to say, this feature will be available on the CcarPlay supported vehicles only.
