Blaise Matuidi ends his Juventus contract one-year earlier to join David Beckham’s Inter Miami on a free transfer

Blaise Matuidi has been a constant figure in the Juventus midfield for the last three years. His tireless work ethic and tremendous reliability along with an increasing hunger to get forward and provide a genuine offensive threat made him a vital cog in the Juventus team.

The 2018 World Cup winner joined Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 for an initial transfer fee of around €20 million. He has spent 3 seasons at Turin winning the Serie A in each season. He also won one Coppa Italia and one Supercoppa Italiana.

Matuidi has played 133 games in all competitions for Juventus, which is the second-highest among all the other player at the club since his arrival. Only Paulo Dybala has played one more match than him. The French international has scored eight goals and provided five assists in his three seasons at the club.

Blaise Matuidi has now terminated his contract with Juventus on a consensual basis. His contract was due to end in 2021 but he has opted to end his Juventus career one-year earlier. The 33-year old has done this to join David Beckham’s MLS side Inter Miami on a free transfer.

Inter Miami is having a bad campaign. They have lost all six of their league fixtures since joining the competition at the start of this season. Beckham will now hope that Matuidi can somehow turn the fortune of the whole team and lead them back to winning ways.

Matuidi wrote on Twitter: “I made my decision a few weeks ago to join Inter Miami CF, rise to my friend David Beckham’s challenge and win new trophies there. My family and I can’t wait.”

David Beckham told the club’s website: “I couldn’t be happier to welcome my friend Blaise to Inter Miami. He is an exciting and gifted player and a great person.”

“To have a World Cup winner of Blaise’s quality in our new team is such a proud moment – for us as owners and for our fans. For me personally, to have a former team-mate joining our club is very special and I can’t wait to welcome him and his beautiful family to South Florida.”

Blaise Matuidi’s transfer to Inter Miami was confirmed on Thursday. He will be able to play his first match for Inter Miami at their home, Inter Miami CF Stadium on 22nd August. Matuidi will wear the No. 8 shirt at Inter Miami.

Ousmane Dembélé gets the green light to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League

0

The Frenchman has traveled to Lisbon as a part of the 26 men squad selected for the Champions League clash and after the training in Portugal, Dembélé is declared fit to play against Bayern Munich. This was kind of expected and he will be a key man to bolster Barcelona’s attack on Friday night.

The 23-year old has been ruled out of football for about 192 days after injuring the proximal biceps femoris tendon of his right thigh. This 2019-20 season has not been the expected one from Dembélé because of his injury problems and this lockdown break has given him an opportunity to return to football that too in the crucial stage of the Champions League.

No one can argue about Dembélé’s abilities, his skills, pace and shots are decisive, to have him in the squad does make a huge impact. The 23-year old had scored some amazing Champions League goals for Barcelona that none can forget and if he can bring some of the flare to the team, then the Blaugranas still have some chances of winning against the mighty Bayern Munich.

After being operated on February 10, Dembélé has utilized the lockdown on his recovery and finally he has a chance to prove his massive transfer money that the club spent on him. Most probably, he will have a big role to play in the second half coming off the bench and make some deadly runs to threaten the German champions.

What do you think of Dembélé’s return to the squad? Will he create an impact against Bayern? Tell us your views on the comments down below…😉

Vidal admits even though Bayern are favorites, Barça is the best team in the world

0

The Chilean international of FC Barcelona has been talking in the press conference before facing Bayern Munich on Friday, and he was open to talk about his former club where he spent a lot of time. Obviously, this quarter-final will be one of the biggest in the Champions League history as both of the team are giants in their own country and still, Bayern remains the favorites this time.

The former Bayern midfielder explained: “It’s the most important game of the year, and we have high hopes that the championship will be ours.”

Vidal talked about his opponents that “Bayern are always favorites. I was there and I felt it, but tomorrow’s game is against FC Barcelona and Barça is the best in the world, so it will be very even.” He added: “It will be a great game, very tight. Bayern has had a spectacular year, and are Bundesliga and German Cup winners. We know how difficult it’s going to be, but we’re FC Barcelona and if we do things well we can win. We will try to leave everything out on the pitch.”

This COVID-19 has forced a lot of changes to the normal routine of the Champions League schedule and Vidal has talked about it too: “I like this one-game format, the Copa América is played like this and it’s very entertaining, the teams go out to win. With two games, the show isn’t so good because there are teams that play much more defensively than in the first game.” Asked about whether he hoped to start the match, he continued: “All the players would like and deserve to play, but the coach has to choose 11. The 11 that are chosen have to play in the best way possible in order to qualify for the semifinals.”

Vidal admits even though Bayern are favorites, Barça is the best team in the world

Also, Arturo Vidal was asked about his thoughts on Bayern’s marksman and even on their new coach: “Lewandowski is extraordinary, very dangerous and a great scorer. It will be very difficult to mark him, but a comparison with Messi is difficult. Leo is from another planet, although Lewandowski is the best striker in the world alongside Luis Suárez. Coach Flick has done very well and has won two titles.”

This will be a quarter-final game to remember and its the first time when Barcelona will be the “underdogs” facing the Bundesliga champions, who have never won to a Spanish club for the last 5 encounters. Will the game be taken away by Lewandowski? or will Messi lead his team to the semi-final again? Do leave your predictions in the comments down below…😉

All you need to know about Intel’s new 10nm SuperFin Transistor

0

Intel on its Architecture Day 2020, has announced an its next take on 10nm process – the 10nm SuperFin Transistor, which is Intel’s enhanced version of its existing 10nm process. Intel calls this to be “the largest single, intra-node enhancement in the company’s history.”

Its no secret that Intel has been working hard on 10nm for quite some time and faced hiccups as well, although they have failed to deliver 7nm in time, it seems this new 10nm SuperFin Transistor can save the game for the Blue team. As Wccftech points out, Intel has even joked about their ++++ improvements of the 14nm process.

All you need to know about Intel's new 10nm SuperFin Transistor

Also, Intel did reveal that their new FinFET type for 10nm will allow them to gain several plusses worth of improvement at one go, which seems amazing on paper. Intel’s Raja Koduri has even compared the leap from 10nm process to the new 10nm SuperFin as a design shift that offers similar performance benefits to a full node transition.

As 10nm has not been that much convincing against the current 7nm trend, it has received a backlash from its investors, and with the 10nm SuperFin, there is hope to finally match with the company’s original performance expectations from 10nm process.

All you need to know about Intel's new 10nm SuperFin Transistor

Intel has not only fixed its performance problems with the 10nm process but also improved it significantly that will help get several iterations worth of performance uplift in a single go. As they point out, previously, with a single “+” iteration there used to be an uplift of 5% in performance, however, with 10nm SuperFin enhanced, the intranode performance uplift is around 17-18% when compared to the original 10nm.

So what improvements can you expect from the new 10nm SuperFin? Here are a list of them:

  • Improved epitaxial growth of crystal structures on the source and drain, increasing the strain and reducing resistance, allowing more current to flow through the channel.
  • Enhanced source-drain architecture driving additional higher channel mobility and enabling charge carriers to move more quickly.
  • Including an additional gate pitch to provide higher drive currents for certain chip functions that require the utmost performance.
All you need to know about Intel's new 10nm SuperFin Transistor
  • Using a new thin barrier reduces via resistance by up to 30% enhancing interconnect performance.
  • The new super MIM metal insulator metal capacitor when compared to the industry standard, delivers a 5x increase in capacitance within the same footprint driving a voltage reduction that translates to dramatically improved product performance. This is an industry-first technology that far exceeds the current capabilities of other manufacturers. This Innovation is enabled by a new class of high-k dielectric materials stacking ultra-thin layers just several angstroms thick to form a repeating superlattice structure.

Originally, this 10nm SuperFin transistor was first developed when trying to fix the original 10nm process architecture and was initially called as 10nm+, but however the naming was changed. The first set of processors to based out of this tech will be Intel’s Tiger Lake processors which will have higher clock speeds for a 10nm chip and other architectural improvements to increase efficiency as well.

All you need to know about Intel's new 10nm SuperFin Transistor

Intel has also confirmed that they are already working on a SuperFin Enhanced transistor, as they might not be able to deliver 7nm in time maybe. However, another good thing is that Intel will be removing its stupid and confusing ++ naming convention.

For the first time, we can sense positivity from Intel and we can somewhat expect true performance improvements both in CPU and iGPU with Intel Xe graphics. We do not have to wait much as on 2nd September, Intel is slated to launch its new Tiger Lake processors based on 10nm SuperFin Transistor.
