The main highlight of this phone can be its pricing. OnePlus is mainly known for its premium high-end budget phones and this upcoming phone may carry a price tag under Rs. 20,000. Getting an OnePlus smartphone under 20,000 is something really good for its users. Moreover, it is also expected that this phone will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 SoC chipset, which will be really valuable for the money. Apart from it, it was also rumored that this phone will offer the 5G connectivity. If it is really there, then it can be the best smartphone under 20,000.

As of now, everything is assumptions and rumors. The company has not shared anything about this phone. We can hope, in the upcoming days, OnePlus will share something more about this upcoming member of the Nord series.

Gareth Bale feels re-energised after his move to Tottenham Hotspur

0

Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale has returned to his former club Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan this summer.

The Welshman had fallen down way below the pecking order of Real manager Zinedine Zidane. Last summer, Bale was almost ready to move to China but the deal was called off in the last moment.

Although Gareth Bale won 4 Champions League and 2 LaLiga trophies at Bernabeu, he was not preferred by Zidane in the previous seasons. It was best for him to move somewhere else to find game time.

When Gareth Bale is in mood, he is one of the top players. There’s no doubt about his footballing abilities.

via tottenham hotspur’s twitter

Now, the 31-year-old winger is feeling re-energised after returning to Tottenham Hotspur, from where he left for Real Madrid for a then world-record transfer fee in 2013.

Bale told Sky Sports: “I am happy to be back and love this club with all my heart. I’ve had great memories here and l feel very happy and confident. My energy levels have gone up.”

“It was time for a change. I wanted to change for a little while but it hadn’t materialised.”

“This club means so much to me, it gave me my opportunities, and I felt it was a good time to come back. I feel the club is still going in a great direction and I wanted to be part of that.”

He further added: “I just want to enjoy my football. In Madrid, it was a bit flat for a while, which l think everyone could see. When you are not happy, it’s difficult to play at your highest level.”

“I am very quiet, I try to keep myself as normal as l can and away from the cameras and media. Maybe that is what they didn’t like over there.”

Bale is yet to make his second debut for Spurs after he suffered a slight knee injury during his international duty but he is expected to make the squad next week.

VAR is ruining the beauty of football

0

With most modern sports implementing digital reviewing systems, it was only a matter of time before technology was implemented in football. However, the functioning of VAR in the Premier League has left fans raging about the concept on all fronts.

Due to the modification of the handball law, we’re bound to see a lot more penalties given via handball this season.

Previously, the rule was at least reasonable. Prior to the 20/21 season, accidental handballs were punished if they were found to be blocking a goal or a goalscoring opportunity. A fairly rational rule to have, as one might agree.

However, the new rule states that should the ball strike the hands of defenders in an “unnatural position”, a penalty will be awarded to the attacking side.

In theory, the rule might look rational to those who feel that harsh discipline must be implemented in the game. However, in practice the rule is nothing but stupid.

How does one decide if an arm is in an “unnatural state”? It is impossible to assume that defenders will face attackers without stretching out their arms. The only way to escape the handballs would be to keep your hands behind your back while defending. And that puts a lot of players at a significant disadvantage.

While the VAR has been implemented much better in countries like Germany and Spain, the Premier League adaptation of the Video Assistant Referee is absolutely horrific and is ruining the spirit of the game.

5 Superb Technologies That Have Changed the Sports Industry

Football is beautiful because of its beauty in simplicity. With VAR intervening so unreasonably with every passing matchday, the sport is slowly losing its charm.

The Premier League must do something to improve the poor reputation of VAR amongst all people associated with football. While clear and obvious errors can be rectified, the laws must be made a bit more realistic for them to be applicable.

Hoffenheim hand Bayern Munich their first loss of 2020 in 4-1 defeat

0

Bayern Munich’s unbeaten streak is over!

After an unbeaten 2020 under Hansi Flick, Bayern have finally been defeated by an outstanding Hoffenheim performance.

Ermin Bikakcic headed in a corner delivered by Dennis Geiger in the 16th minute to open the scoring. Despite Alphonso Davies getting his head to it, the ball ended up hitting the roof and going into the net.

Only 8 short minutes later, Moanes Dabour punished Bayern’s sloppy play from behind by chipping Neuer on the break to make it 2-0.

Despite Joshua Kimmich scoring an absolute screamer from well outside the box to make it 2-1 10 minutes before half-time, his efforts were in vain.

Another defensive problem lead to Andrej Kramaric pushing Hoffenheim ahead 3-1 in the 77th minute. The goal was an excellent strike from a very difficult angle and was a well-deserved goal for the Croatian.

However, more drama was yet to come. In the dying minutes of regulation time, Ihlas Bebou broke past the Bayern back-line and was in for a goal. However, Neuer charged out to the edge of the penalty area and took down Bebou to give Hoffenheim a penalty.

There was little debate to the decision as it was a clear and obvious foul.

Andrej Kramaric made no mistake from the spot, making it 4-1 in stoppage time. Though Neuer dived the right way, the shot was too high and too powerful for the German to deal with.

Assessing Bayern’s game

Credit must be given where credit is due. Hoffenheim were the better team and could’ve easily gotten 5 or 6 goals had they had better luck.

On the other hand, Bayern simply did not look like themselves against Hoffenheim. They were repeatedly punished for holding up an extremely high defensive line. In addition, Boateng and Pavard’s lack of pace did the Bavarians no favours while getting back to defend from the break.

Bayern had a fair share of chances to score, but squandered them or had them saved.

All in all, it was a tough day for the Champions and Hoffenheim, better team on the day, deserved the win. However, it would be foolish to write off the Bavarians following the defeat.

If anything, expect them to come back stronger and hungrier for winning in the next game.

Bayern play arch rivals Dortmund on the 30th of September in the DFL Supercup. The first Klassiker of the season promises to be a brilliant one.
