This Children’s Day #UnmutetheKids, says India’s leading fun learning platform Voot Kids

~ The new campaign offers to bring small voices to the big stage – encourages kids to speak up

Mumbai, 12th November 2020:  In the last 8 months, on account of the global pandemic, kids have been homebound. Summertime masti, then back to school, spending time with friends, indulging in outdoor play, coming back home full of stories – everything has come to an abrupt halt. Voot Kids, India’s first and only multi-format kids’ app, accredited by the Early Childhood Association, recognizes, that in all the ‘acchai’ of staying indoors and studying online, their ‘masti’ and the joy of childhood has gone amiss. So, this Children’s Day, Voot Kids, with its new campaign #UnmutetheKids is letting kids say their piece. Ab bachhe batayenge, bacchon ka new normal. A movement that calls for kids across the country to openly express themselves and share their views on what’s happening around them all these months, #Unmutethekids is to set to bring these big, small voices center stage.

Kickstarting the campaign, Voot Kids is set to introduce a series of lighthearted and endearing brand films that speak through the lens of a child. Embracing innocence and honesty amidst the new normal, each film is thoughtfully created to capture moments in a child’s life reflecting at times their reality and at times, their parents’. The philosophy of unmuting kids, empowering them, bringing their stories forward and infusing masti mein acchai in their lives, will be continued through the year with various initiatives that reflect the thought. This Children’s Day is going to be the start of a year, that’s all about Kids.

The story: The first adorable brand film observes a kid standing with a placard that says, ‘Aryan’s Bhook Hartal’ as he revolts against the ‘paani wali daal’ cooked by his father, sharing the message of ‘Ab Hum Bolenge’. Continuing with the message, the second film, again through the eyes of a little girl, who has been confined in her home, rebels against the locked parks and playgrounds. Adjusting to the new normal of work from home, the third brand film showcases a little boy who is stopped from making noise in the house while his mother is on an important work video call. With a purpose in his eyes, the little boy is determined to now expose his mother’s secrets, highlighting the message of Ab Hum Bolenge. Further in the fourth film, making an unpleasant face after being told to drink a kaadha, the kid amplifies the message of Ab Hum Bolenge.

Speaking on the campaign, Vigyeta Agrawal, Head – Marketing at Viacom18 Digital Ventures said, “This year has been full of disruption for the kids and we wanted to give them an outlet to voice their side of the story. #UnmutetheKids is our endeavor to bring this conversation mainstream and we will keep building momentum on this, throughout the year via multiple initiatives.”

With the #UnmutetheKids campaign, Voot Kids aims to give voice to the young kids by encouraging parents to tweet or send videos or pictures of the things their kids say, while living through this new normal. The campaign will be amplified through a 360-degree campaign including TV, YouTube, FB, IG and TW, along with high impact influencers-led communication that makes a clarion call to #UnmutetheKids.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 generated 2500 crores of advertising revenues for Star India (including Television and Hotstar) according to various industry experts and sources.

According to many sources, it has been noted that Star India earned advertising revenues worth 2250 crores on Television and another 200-250 crores from Hotstar ad-sales.

IPL 2020 has been big on numbers!

Star collaborated with 18 sponsors before the start of the tournament and also signed up a whopping 117 advertisers. Star also signed 13 on-air sponsors. Star has already signed deals with renowned organizations like Amazon, Byju’s, Dream11, PhonePe, PolyCab, ITC, Coca Cola, Rummy Circle, AMFI, P&G, Kamala Pasand, and various others. Byju’s was the biggest spender this year on on-air advertising.

“IPL has delivered brilliant numbers on viewership. The viewership growth as per our estimates in a range of 25%. But this growth will reflect in the advertising revenues of Star to only some extent. They had locked 85% of the deals before IPL begin. So they could sell only 15% inventory at a premium. But IPL 2020 numbers augur really well for IPL 2021”, said one of the big media planners on condition of anonymity.

“IPL 2020 viewership numbers have really surprised everyone. The growth in revenues for Star India will be in single digit only in percentage terms but I am sure they now have an opportunity to increase the rates for the next season”, said another industry expert.

It has been reported that IPL 2020 has recorded a jump of 30% in viewership numbers compared to last season. IPL 2020 has registered 7.3 billion viewing minutes per match (up to 32 matches) compared to the IPL 2019 count of 5.6 billion (35 matches).

Yaya Toure wanted to play in ISL but the main issue was financial problem

Indian Super League [ISL] is growing rapidly day by day, season by season. Many exciting foreigners are playing in the league in the last few seasons. Now ISL is catching the eyes of big names as well.

After Radja Nainggolan, Ivan Strinić, now former Manchester City legend Yaya Touré is the latest inclusion in the list who was in search of a club in India.

Yaya Touré has played in FC Barcelona, Manchester City in his playing career. He has won 2 La Liga during his time at FC Barcelona. He also won UEFA Champions League with the Catalan club in 2009. In 2010 he joined Manchester City and won 3 Premier Leagues in 8 years in England.

As per reports, he was offered to multiple ISL clubs. One club responded and they wanted to sign him for 200,000 USD (approx. Rs 1.5 crore) per year. It was less than what he earned every week during his time at Manchester City.

Mumbai City FC has partnered with ‘City Football Group’ which attracts many players in India. But the salary cap is restricting all the clubs from signing all world-class players.

Damian Willoughby, CEO, City Football Group India said: “Lots of players were interested in coming to Mumbai City FC because of the group’s involvement and support. People are becoming aware of the elevated profile of ISL across the global football community.”

According to the rules of ISL, clubs cannot spend more than Rs. 16.5 crores on player salaries. The salary cap does not include the transfer fees of the players. Loan wages are included in this cap though.

Yaya Touré even asked to accept payment from ‘Jersey Sales’. He was told in India there are not many Manchester City fans unlike Manchester United, Liverpool, and all.

ISL 2020-21 CLUB PREVIEW: Could new-look Mumbai City FC be aided by luck in their quest for qualification?

Mumbai City FC have been an underwhelming force throughout their history of the past six years. Since the inception of the league in 2014, MCFC have made it just once to the Playoffs stage, often finishing mid-table.

Revealed! The reason why Mumbai City FC logo has seven stars on it

But with new ownership, fresh tactical ideas and stronger players, can Mumbai create an impact this season? We take a brief look at how they stack up ahead of the new season –

TRANSFERS

Acquired by the CFG group earlier this year, Mumbai City identified a few key players in their scouting system. They have thus signed the likes of Fall, Boumous, Jahouh, Farukh Choudhary and Mandar Rao Desai.

They released Diego, Kevyn and Sogou as part of their rebuilding process. A number of Indian players which included Mohammed Rafique were let go to various I-League and ISL clubs.

SQUAD LIST

GOALKEEPERS

  • Amrinder Singh
  • Vikram Singh
  • Nishit Shetty
  • Phurba Lachenpa

DEFENDERS

  • Mourtada Fall
  • Mandar Rao Desai
  • Mehtab Singh
  • Amey Ranawade
  • Valpuia
  • Sarthak Golui
  • Tondonba Singh
  • Mohamad Rakip

MIDFIELDERS

  • Ahmed Jahouh
  • Bipin Singh
  • Cy Goddard
  • Asif Khan
  • Farukh Choudhary
  • Bidyananda Singh
  • Hernan Santana
  • Hugo Boumous
  • Pranjal Bhumij
  • Raynier Fernandes
  • Rowllin Borges
  • Sourav Das
  • Vikram Singh
  • Vignesh Dakshinamurthy

FORWARDS

  • Adam Le Fondre
  • Bartholomew Ogbeche

STRENGTH

Their biggest positive ahead of this season is the ability to be able to bring a manager like Sergio Lobera in their ranks. With a good win percentage, he also convinced the core players from FC Goa to join him at Mumbai. They are also a decent goalscoring side with 25 goals in 18 games last season and are only set to improve this season under Lobera’s attacking style of play.

WEAKNESS

Much like East Bengal, their influx of the number of transfers could lead to team chemistry being affected on the pitch. The uncertainty of not having a core that knows each other means Mumbai’s management has its task cut out to get all of them firing at the same time.

KEY PLAYER

ISL 2020-21: Bartholomew Ogbeche close to committing future with Kerala Blasters

Talismanic forward Bartholomew Ogbeche is undoubtedly a sheer force on his day. With the ability to wreck opposition defences, the Nigerian has a history of winning games on his own. He has scored 27 goals and 2 assists in 33 ISL appearances for both NorthEast United and Kerala Blasters.

PREDICTED TABLE FINISH

4th Place – Mumbai have just about enough firepower to make it to the playoffs, but how they go on from there is anybody’s guess at the moment.

The Redmi Note 9 5G is rumored to have a starting price of just US$150

0

Xiaomi is about to bring the Redmi Note 9 5G series to the market very soon. In that series, we are about to get two smartphones, Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro. Both of them support 5G connectivity. Recently the pricing of both the smartphones has been rumored, which says that the upcoming Redmi Note 9 5G will have a base price of just 1000 yuan (around US$150). On the other hand, the Redmi Note 9 Pro will carry a price tag of around 1500 yuan ($226). Let’s check out what are the specifications we can expect from the Redmi Note 9 series.

Both smartphones will sport 6-inch plus displays. One of them is expected to feature a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The refresh rate will be adaptive. That means it will change between 30Hz to 120Hz depending on the situation. Both the phones will possess a quad rear camera setup. Moreover, the Pro variant is expected to offer a primary sensor of 108MP.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro is rumored to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC chipset. In terms of charging, both of them will support fast charging, probably around 22.5W. In terms of connectivity, everything including 5G will be there. But not sure whether it will have a 3.5mm headphone jack or not. As mentioned earlier, the pricing of this series of Redmi should fall in the lower-mid-range category. That means it is going to be a real value for money deal for the buyers.

AMD Ryzen 7 5700U “Lucienne” APU spotted running on HP Pavilion Laptop 15

0

Another day, another laptop with upcoming Ryzen 5000 APU

Well, if you thought AMD had had enough with its Ryzen 5000 series processors for desktops, then you have probably mistaken. The upcoming AMD Ryzen 7 5700U “Lucienne” APU has again been spotted, not on an Acer Aspire 5 A515 but an HP Pavilion Laptop 15-eh1xxx laptop.

A new Geekbench listing of this laptop shows that the upcoming Ryzen 7 5700U will be an 8 core, 16 thread APU with 1.8GHz base and 4.3GHz boost clock speeds, which was previously confirmed with the leak of the Acer laptop as well.

The interesting thing is the scores which are being reflected as we see there are two scores –

  • Single Core: 1172, Multi Core: 6595
  • Single Core: 1111, Multi Core: 6099

If you compare the score with the current Ryzen 7 4700U, its not huge because I own a laptop with that APU and my scores are something like this:

The Asus VivoBook Flip 14 with Ryzen 7 4700U outmuscles the Core i7-1065G7 on the Dell XPS 13

So, as we see, there’s not much improvement in the single-core score as this is basically still a Zen 2 refresh while having that extra 8 threads gives a huge boost in the multi-core score of the upcoming Ryzen 7 5700U. According to this leak, we aren’t getting any major improvement on the compute side of the APU.

Whereas if you look at the upcoming APU’s graphical side, we see a slight improvement due to higher clock speeds, and with 8 Vega Compute units instead of 7 seen on the current AMD Ryzen 7 4700U. I don’t know what AMD is planning by just doing a refresh of its Ryzen 4000U series, and I guess the other exciting Cezanne and Van Gogh APUs can actually bring something more that users will expect from AMD.

These upcoming Ryzen 5000U series APUs will be launching at the start of 2021, most probably CES 2021, and it will be a mix of Zen 2 based Lucienne APUs and Zen 3 based Cezanne APUs as per leaks till now.

AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors make new sales record

0

The Red team made its revolutionary Ryzen 5000 series processors based on Zen 3 architecture available on November 5 and since then it seems the company is not stopping yet. The sales of these CPUs seems to be amazing as per the retailers from various countries.

As pointed out by Techradar, as soon as these processors went live, they were all sold out, while some retailers out there have ended up breaking sales records as well.

As per Scan, a UK retailer, “Demand was extremely high and the launch stock we had sold through extremely quickly making it the fastest selling CPU launch we have ever seen,” and that this was “echoed across all of the launch retailers.”

As pointed out by Hassan Mujtaba from Wccftech, even the major German outlet Mindfactory have seen huge response from fans – thousands of CPU have been sold in an instant and inventory exhausted in 2 hours!! This kind of sales is quite expected when you provide great leap in gaming as well as multi-threaded workloads in a single generational uplift.

Even those who have never opted for AMD because of its gaming performance will now opt for AMD as even the budget Ryzen 5 5600X gives a comparable gaming performance to that of Intel’s latest flagship Core i9-10900K. We only hope AMD does not screw up with the stocks, else this can be a great season for holiday shopppers.

There will be no iPhone SE in 1H 2021, probably in the second half

0

Earlier this year, Apple has introduced this second-gen model, named the iPhone SE. iPhone SE is nothing but an iPhone model that is comparatively cheaper and a mixture of specifications of the company’s older models. For example, the iPhone SE 2020 seems like it is the newer version of the older iPhone 8 as it borrows heavily from the iPhone 8. On the basis of the iPhone SE, Apple has launched the mini version of the iPhone 12.

But a recent report has come out which says that Apple will not bring any iPhone SE model in the first half of 2021. So, it will not be the same as what we’ve seen in the first quarter of 2020. As per the well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, we should not expect a new iPhone SE any time soon. So there will be no second-generation iPhone SE in the 1H of 2021. In place of that, we can expect a third-generation iPhone SE model in the second half of 2021. But as of now, we have confirmation about that matter.

In terms of pricing, the 3rd Gen iPhone SE should carry a pocket-friendly price range as we’ve seen that the iPhone SE remains Apple’s cheapest iPhone at US$399. iPhone SE has become very popular because of its shape and size. The users feel that this is the perfect size to handle an iPhone and makes it pretty comfortable to use. As it will be a 3rd Gen iPhone SE, so we can definitely expect some major updates in both hardware and software of it. But it has no connection with the upcoming iPhone 13 series. Kuo states that Apple will launch its iPhone 13 series in the month of September 2021.

Google to stop offering free photo storage

0

It’s been five years since Google started offering its unlimited free photo backups at “high quality.” However, now Google Photos will begin charging for storage once more than 15 gigs on the account have been used.

The new change in policy will be in effect from June 1st, 2021, and it comes with other Google Drive policy changes like counting Google Workspace documents and spreadsheets against the same cap. Google has also introduced a new policy of deleting data from inactive accounts. If the version has not been logged in for at least two years, its data will be deleted.

According to sources, photos, and documents uploaded before June 1st will not count against that 15GB cap. Only images uploaded after June 1st will begin counting against the cap. However, google taking away unlimited backup for “high quality” photos and video also means taking away one of its service’s most significant selling points.

Sources also claim that the android maker will send alerts and warnings users begin to approach the storage cap. A new storage management tool has also been added to Google Photos. It includes a tool that makes it easier to find and delete photos like blurry images or screenshots.

The sudden change in Google policy is related to its Google One storage. The service offers a free VPN for Android at some of its higher tiers. Google’s stated that “Today, more than 4 trillion photos are stored in Google Photos, and every week 28 billion new photos and videos are uploaded.

Since so many of you rely on Google Photos to store your memories, it’s important that it’s not just a great product but also continues to meet your needs over the long haul. To welcome even more of your memories and build Google Photos for the future, we are changing our unlimited High-quality storage policy”.

Google One pricing starts at $1.99 / month for 100GB and has tiers going through 200GB ($2.99 / month), 2TB ($9.99 / month), and up to 30TB ($149.99 / month).
