Nothing‘s first smartphone is right around the corner, the device will be launched in two weeks and the company is revealing details in bits and pieces, not giving us any clear idea of what to expect. Today, however, there has been a major development as the brand officially confirmed which chip will be powering the device.

Nothing Phone (1) detailed specification list:

The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778+ 5G chipset and it arrives with a unique design like no other one, it has a transparent back panel, and going by the images and videos it’s Glyph interface that has nearly 900 embedded LEDs will be the star of the show.

These lights will go on and off when notifications pop up and as and when the camera is in use. The Phone (1) is expected to launch in Europe and the UK markets but it will not be introduced in the American markets.

The brand had auctioned off 100 units of the smartphone via StockX and due to the hype surrounding the phone, a customer has placed a bid for $3,064 or Rs.2,41,883. The chipset powering the Phone (1) is nowhere as good as the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chip but let us see how the phone is able to perform.

The Nothing Phone (1) comes with wireless charging and reverse wireless charging support as the Plus version of the Snapdragon 778 is much better than the vanilla version. The brand has opted to go for a mid-range chip given its performance, power consumption, and other pricing issues.

Carl Pei, the CEO of the brand has stated that the debut smartphone will check every box of the customer. Though we do not have a specific price range now, we can expect it to retail in the ballpark of Rs.31,000, and as per the company, over 100,000 customers are on the pre-order waitlist.
