Google to launch its Android-powered Pixel tablet set to come in 2023

This is the first tablet from Google since the Pixel Slate, which was released in 2018 and operated on Chrome OS. That product was supposed to have a successor, but Google announced that it would no longer be making tablets. The Pixel C, released in 2015, was the last Google-branded tablet to run Android.

This is the first tablet from Google since the Pixel Slate, which was released in 2018 and operated on Chrome OS. That product was supposed to have a successor, but Google announced that it would no longer be making tablets. The Pixel C, released in 2015, was the last Google-branded tablet to run Android.

Taking a deep look at the device’s hardware, as shown in the brief teaser, they show a close up of the device’s back at one point. Below the Google G logo, you can see what appear to be four pins. This suggests that the next “Nest Hub” device will be a tablet that can be docked onto a smart speaker base, as reported earlier this year. While on such a dock, these pins might theoretically act as the tablet’s charging mechanism, albeit a side-mounted USB-C port is also visible.

Here’s a Sneak at the Upcoming Pixel tablet from Google

Due to its broad, white bezels, the Pixel tablet renders seem a lot like a Nest Hub smart display, which is a bit of a joke. The single, circular camera on the back, on the other hand, harkens back to the Pixel 3 and Pixel Slate. Notably, there appears to be no provision for the camera flash, implying a heavy reliance on Night Sight.

We can see at least two hues for the Pixel tablet in official press images, including a standard off-white shade and a greenish-grey colour that matches a similar choice on this fall’s Pixel 7.

The next tablet is unquestionably the completion of Google’s efforts on Android for “big screen” devices, which began with Android 12L and continued with Android 13. The scheduled developer presentations at Google I/O also place a strong emphasis on developing apps for tablets and flexible devices.
