Want to roll back to Windows 10 from Windows 11? Here’s what you need to do

Microsoft’s next big OS update is the upcoming Windows 11. I know that many of you are trying to or have managed to install Windows 11 on your devices just to get the feel of the OS. Frankly, I have to ask, what did you guys expect?

I mean, come on, it’s still in beta, have you not learned anything from your beta experience with Windows 10? Naturally, there will be something called bugs in the beta version of Windows 11. Heck, there will even be bugs in the stable version of Windows 11.

Microsoft Windows 11 first look: A whole new experience but needs more finetuning

Coming to the topic, many those who installed the new OS, played with it for a couple of hours, and eventually decided to kick it out of their laptop. Salute to those who haven’t installed Windows 11 by the way.

However, if you plan to tweak your OS further and then return to your previous WInwos 10 with a rollback, then here’s a piece of advice. Microsoft will, after 10 days, purge the old OS files, which makes it impossible to do a rollback. But you can reinstall Windows 10 with an ISO image though. Except you’ll have to lose your old OS versions data. So choose your poison wisely.

  • Microsoft will love it if you still keep windows 11 in your system because frankly, they don’t care about your system. So don’t get second thoughts after coming this far and Click “No, thanks” when asked to check for updates instead of rolling back.

After the restoration completes, you’re back on Windows 10. However, many have complained that Windows once again tries to install Windows 11 Preview again right away, so we need to shut that one tiny setting up in the Windows setting menu.

  • Navigate to Settings->Update & Security->Windows Insider program.
  • turn the Toggle “stop getting preview builds” on, and you stop receiving those annoying beta’s right away.

The menu will refresh itself and show a “Restart now” button. If it does not, just restart the damn PC yourself.

Voila! Just follow our guide to have a successful rollback to your beloved Windows 10, and say goodbye to the bug-infested Windows 11. Frankly, I am excited to see what Microsoft will make out of Windows 11. We all know how Windows 10 started, but Microsoft managed to turn windows 10 into an OS whose popularity is closing to that of Windows 7. Of course, I still prefer Debian OS, but that’s for another day. Peace out.
