The internet collectively lost its mind on February 26, 2026, when Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna tied the knot in a dreamy two-ceremony wedding at ITC Mementos in Udaipur. Their union — lovingly named “VIROSH” by fans years before it became official — is proof that reel chemistry can quietly bloom into real forever love. And they’re far from alone. Here are 10 iconic actor couples who married their co-stars.

VIROSH — Overview

10 Actor Couples Who Married Their Co-Stars

1. 💛 Vijay Deverakonda & Rashmika Mandanna (2026)

They first shared the screen in Geetha Govindam (2018) — and fans coined “VIROSH” long before the couple even acknowledged their bond. After a quiet ring exchange in 2025, they finally made it official in Udaipur, marrying under both Telugu and Kodava traditions. PM Modi personally sent them a congratulatory letter. A love story worth every year of waiting.

2. 💗 Saif Ali Khan & Kareena Kapoor Khan (2012)

Their love sparked on the sets of Tashan (2008), and Kareena has since said Saif caught her just as her career hit its lowest point. They wed in 2012 after five years together — two generations of Bollywood royalty united. Today they have two sons, Taimur and Jeh, and remain one of Hindi cinema’s most beloved pairs.

3. 💙 Alia Bhatt & Ranbir Kapoor (2022)

Alia famously had a childhood crush on Ranbir — and eventually got to star alongside him in Brahmastra (2022), which is also where their romance truly bloomed. They married quietly at Ranbir’s Bandra home in April 2022, with daughter Raha arriving later that year. Bollywood’s reigning power couple, on screen and off.

4. 💜 Deepika Padukone & Ranveer Singh (2018)

Their electric chemistry on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram-Leela (2013) was impossible to miss — and off-screen, a relationship quietly formed. They kept fans guessing for years before a fairytale wedding in Lake Como, Italy in November 2018. Deepika and Ranveer continue to be the most fashion-forward, larger-than-life couple in Indian cinema.

5. 💚 Kajol & Ajay Devgn (1999)

One of Bollywood’s longest-lasting love stories, Kajol and Ajay met on the sets of Hulchul (1995). They married in 1999 — no fanfare, no destination drama — and have been together for over 25 years. Their relationship is proof that quiet love often endures the longest.

6. 🤍 Aishwarya Rai & Abhishek Bachchan (2007)

The Bachchan-Rai union felt almost destined — Abhishek first proposed to Aishwarya on the sets of Guru (2007), and they married just months later. A former Miss World and a Bollywood dynasty scion — together they became one of India’s most glamorous real-life pairs.

7. ❤️ Akshay Kumar & Twinkle Khanna (2001)

Akshay and Twinkle’s on-screen romance in International Khiladi (1999) may not have been a blockbuster, but their real-life story certainly has been. They married in 2001, and Twinkle — now a bestselling author and interior designer — is widely credited for keeping Akshay grounded through every phase of his massive career.

8. 🧡 Amitabh Bachchan & Jaya Bachchan (1973)

The original Bollywood love story. Amitabh and Jaya fell for each other while filming Zanjeer (1973) and married the same year it released. Over five decades later, they remain together — a benchmark no other industry couple has matched.

9. 🌸 Dharmendra & Hema Malini (1980)

The original “Dream Girl” and the original “He-Man” of Bollywood met on set in the 1970s and their chemistry was undeniable. Their marriage in 1980 was one of the most talked-about in Indian cinema history, and they continue to be adored by generations of fans.

10. 💛 Vicky Kaushal & Katrina Kaif (2021)

Vicky and Katrina married in a dreamy fort wedding in Rajasthan in December 2021 — and while they never confirmed how their love story started, both were part of the same industry circle for years. Their wedding became the event of 2021.

Why Bollywood Co-Star Love Stories Hit Different

Bollywood has always been a world where personal and professional life blur at the edges — long shoots, intense scenes, shared vulnerability. It’s no wonder that so many lasting love stories begin between the camera and the clap. VIROSH is simply the newest — and possibly the most romantic — chapter in that tradition.
