Yes, this ViewSonic VX2728 Gaming Monitor promises up to 104% sRGB color accuracy and a mouth-watering 5-year warranty, which at this price is rare. However, is it worth the hype? Design, Ports & Convenience

Picture this: you’re unboxing the ViewSonic VX2728, and the first thing that hits you is its sleek plastic body. It’s like a sports car – lean, mean, and ready to make your gaming dreams come true. And those thin bezels on three sides? They’re so slim, they practically disappear, leaving nothing but a screen for you to dive into. Oh, and that ViewSonic branding on the bottom bezel? That’s like a little wink, a nod to the gaming magic that’s about to unfold.

Down at the bottom right, you’ll find a handful of control keys, including the power key and four others that let you tweak settings and switch between input options. They’re tactile, easy to reach, and ready to obey your every command. Sure, navigating through the menus might take a bit of practice, but hey, no one said becoming a gaming master was easy!

Now, let’s chat about the monitor’s weight. At just 5.8 kg with the stand, it’s light enough to move around without breaking a sweat. And attaching the stand? Piece of cake. We had it hooked up to a gaming console in less than 10 minutes. Talk about speed!

But here’s the thing: while the buttons are within easy reach, getting to the ports can be a bit of a challenge. The stand isn’t height-adjustable, so you might need to do a bit of twisting and turning to plug in your cables. But don’t worry—the monitor has plenty of connectivity options, including two HDMI 1.4 ports, a DisplayPort, and a 3.5mm audio output.

And let’s not forget about the tilt feature. With a range of -5° to 20°, you can adjust the monitor to just the right angle for your gaming marathon.

Display

Now, let’s talk about visuals. The ViewSonic VX2728 sports an IPS panel with a 27-inch FHD display and a resolution of 1920 x 1080. Its 16:9 aspect ratio panel is capable of a variable refresh rate that tops out at a jaw-dropping 180 Hz. Plus, it boasts a 1,000:1 static contrast ratio, 0.5 ms response time, and a peak brightness of 250 nits.

Generally, monitors in this segment have some flaws with the display quality or panel; however, this is not the case here. Thanks to the IPS panel, you can enjoy movies, work, and do productivity stuff as well. Thanks to HDR10 support, which is decent here, you can enjoy HDR content right through the monitor. Also, here’s a quick test using our DataColor SpyderX Pro:

As you see in the results, the ViewSonic VX2728 gaming monitor does perform almost as advertised, giving over 100% sRGB, 95% DCI-P3, 87% AdobeRGB, and 84% NTSC color accuracy. The performance at this price level is quite good, and most users will love the color accuracy that this monitor has to offer.

But alas, every hero has a flaw, and in the case of the VX2728, it’s the internal speakers. These two 2-watt speakers don’t quite match up to the rest of the monitor’s stellar features. They’re decent, but lack the bass and richness for a truly immersive gaming experience. So, you might want to invest in some external speakers for that extra oomph.

Gaming

During our test run, the ViewSonic VX2728 monitor handled both a gaming console and a PC like a champ. The colors were vibrant and spot-on, the blacks were deep and inky, and the picture quality was good. Crisp as a fresh autumn morning, thanks to the ultra-low 0.5 ms response time and 165Hz refresh rate!

Whether we were duking it out in multiplayer games or exploring mystical realms in RPGs, the monitor delivered a seamless, lag-free experience. Thanks to AMD FreeSync Premium and VESA Adaptive Sync, there was not a blur or tear in sight.

All said and done, the ViewSonic VX2728 is a force to be reckoned with. It’s got the looks, the performance, and the features to take your gaming to the next level. So, are you ready to step into the big gaming leagues?

Verdict

Now, should you buy the ViewSonic VX2728 gaming monitor? Well, for ₹15,999, this is no doubt a slightly premium FHD gaming monitor, but for the specs and the performance it provides, I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an FHD monitor exclusively. Though you can get a QHD monitor by paying a slightly premium, if you can get this ViewSonic VX2728 in sales or so, then this might actually be a good deal.
