So, we got this monitor to review for quite some time, and after playing around for quite a while, I will be able to tell you why you should buy it and what sets it apart from others in the same price bracket.

Design & Build
As a budget FHD Gaming monitor, the ViewSonic VX2405 is made up of hard plastic and is like most other monitors, not too premium in terms of build quality but it’s sturdy and should last for years down the road. Well, in terms of design even with the plastic build, I would say it looks nice because of really thin bezels across the edges.
The narrow bezels do look good and don’t disturb you while gaming, you have the ViewSonic logo at the bottom looks clean. In terms of styling, I like what ViewSonic has to offer, nothing too extraordinary but yet clean and subtle, however, the arm of the display could have been stronger.
The 24-inch display to me is adequate for everyday usage I would say and most Indian buyers are now preferring 24-inch as the go-to option, though I personally use 27-inch models but for me, this one too is fine especially the narrow bezels make it look very sleek, and nice. This is not a VA panel but an IPS LCD panel so expect better colors out of this and keeping in Standard mode for most of my usage I really liked the display quality.
The 178 degrees viewing angles are quite standard and good for general usage and as long as you are indoors the brightness will be enough, however, when you turn on lights or under sunshine the screen’s brightness might disappoint you a bit. ViewSonic claims up to 250 nits of peak brightness and 120% sRGB color gamut, in everyday use we found the colors to be decent enough, better than other monitors in the same price segment I would say.
Let’s find out if this ViewSonic VX2405 24-inch FHD Monitor does live up to the advertised expectations using our DataColor SpyderX Pro:
As you see in the results, the ViewSonic monitor performs as expected, having a 100% sRGB color gamut, which for a monitor in this price range is rare, and great for budget content creators as well. The peak brightness here goes up to 300 nits which are adequate for indoors, and the 950:1 contrast ratio for an IPS LCD panel is also quite good. Overall, in terms of display quality, the monitor will indeed get your job done.
Meant for entry-level FHD gamers, this ViewSonic VX2405 boasts a 144Hz refresh rate that too on an IPS panel which does help to bring the best display quality while still retaining that smooth gaming experience. The ultra-low 1 ms response time in Game Mode is great for fast-paced shooters but in Game Mode the colors look a bit more deep and unrealistic, however, most will be fine with it.
I did play FIFA 23 and enjoyed playing on this monitor and had no issues scoring goals seamlessly, even for CS GO too I was comfortable shooting the targets. If you have an AMD GPU you will also enjoy AMD FreeSync Premium which reduces stuttering to a great extent and ensures a smooth gaming experience overall.
If you also love to watch videos or movies and even web series on your monitor, the ViewSonic VX2405 with its decent display quality could be a good option for you. Though the colors are not the best still to some extent in Movie mode watching something is pleasurable and the fact that this also has an inbuilt speakers does help for a great hands-free experience.
I liked playing music while working and listening on the monitor itself whereas for watching quick YouTube or some short Netflix breaks, this ViewSonic VX2405 looks to be a nice option indeed.
In terms of ports, ViewSonic has made it easy to plug them and you have two HDMI 1.4 ports, one Display Port, and a 3.5mm audio jack as well.
Now, should you buy this ViewSonic VX2405 gaming monitor in 2023? Well, investing in a 1080p monitor for the long term won’t be a good option but suppose if you are a budget gamer and need a reliable everyday option for a few years down the road, a high refresh rate FHD is better than a low refresh rate QHD.
On sale, this ViewSonic VX2405 monitor is up for grabs for Rs.12k, and for that price, this is a steal deal honestly, it’s color accurate, it has an IPS panel with a high 144Hz refresh rate, comes with FreeSync Premium and also has inbuilt speakers. I would say for most people this should do the everyday work and play pretty easily.
