Skip it, and you’ll find your speaker needing a recharge far sooner than you’d expect.
It’s not a dealbreaker, but it does mean the “wireless charging” pitch comes with an asterisk: keep it plugged into a capable charger, or don’t rely on it as your go-to phone charging spot.
