Most valuable U23 Indian footballers: Indian football is seeing the rise of some very prolific youngsters right now. And with the development of the ISL, more and more players are getting the spotlight to mature and improve their quality.

The growth in commercial revenue and the development of better training methods and facilities are all factors in increasing the quality of youngsters produced in the country. The recent triumph in the Intercontinental Cup and the SAFF Championship proved that Indian football is headed in a positive direction.

5. Prabhsukhan Gill – Rs 2 crore 

The only goalkeeper to feature on the list, Prabhsukhan Gill recently made a major switch to East Bengal to become their first-choice between the sticks. He is one of the best-paid Indians in the ISL as well, and at 22, has all the makings of being an elite player. 

He has already won the Golden Glove award for Kerala Blasters, and will be expected to solve the goalkeeping issues of the Red and Gold club. They conceded far too many late goals last season, and will be looking to turn things around significantly this time.

4. Jeakson Singh – Rs 2.2 Cr 

Jeakson Singh plays as a defensive midfielder for Kerala Blasters, and has seen his stock rise significantly over the past season. He has earned 17 international caps for India and has a contract until 2025 with the Blasters. 

3. Anwar Ali –  Rs 2.2 Cr 

Anwar Ali is next on the list of the most valuable U23 Indian footballers. The centre-back recently completed a big-money move to Mohun Bagan SG to further his career. He has played 16 times for India, and is showing all the signs of turning into a top player down the line.

2. Apuia – Rs 2.6 Cr 

Mumbai City FC’s Lalengmawia Ralte, commonly nicknamed Apuia, is the second of the most valuable U23 Indian footballers. The central midfielder has been with the Sky Blues since 2021, and has played in the ISL 66 times at the age of 22.  

He has also played for the senior national team, but has fallen down the pecking order with the current form of players like Anirudh Thapa and Sahal Samad.

1. Akash Mishra – Rs 3 Cr 

Following his transfer to Mumbai City FC from Hyderabad FC, Akash Mishra tops the most valuable U23 Indian footballers list. The left-back was sought after by clubs from abroad as well, but decided to commit his future to the champions of India and maximise his chances of success. 

He will be playing the AFC Champions League this season with the Sky Blues, and is expected to have a remarkable spell with the most dominant side in the league right now.
