The Premier League is arguably the fastest football league in the world and it features some of the fastest players week in and week out. Pace is one of the cornerstones of modern football, and it is one of the essential features when it comes to attackers in the Premier League. 

With the 22/23 season now in the history books, we have a concrete list of who the fastest players in the top flight were. Some of them are newcomers, but the list is topped by a familiar face – Kyle Walker of Manchester City. Let’s now have a look at the five players that make the list of the top 5 fastest Premier League players in the 2022/23 season.

The new Liverpool forward hasn’t been consistently in the starting line-up. But in the bits that he has shown, the future looks bright for the Uruguayan. He has clocked one of the fastest speeds in the Premier League at 36.53 kmph. And once he gets firing in front of goal, he will no doubt be a deadly attacker under Jurgen Klopp.

4. 36.61 km/h – Anthony Gordon

Gordon made the move from Everton to Newcastle United in the January transfer window. The youngster was linked with Chelsea in the summer as well, but no proposal arrived from the capital club. He recently scored his first goal for the Magpies, and is also their fastest player this season with a top speed of 36.61 kmph. 

3. 36.63 km/h – Mykhailo Mudryk

The Ukrainian was part of a huge January transfer window for Chelsea, where they signed Enzo Fernandez as well. Mudryk achieved a speed of 36.63 kmph in his debut cameo against Liverpool. And while he has provided assists, his first goal in a Chelsea shirt is still pending. He has the pace, and has shown the ability to score with Shakhtar in the past. It now remains to be seen if Mauricio Pochettino can get his confidence up and have him convert his chances. 

2. 36.70 km/h – Brennan Johnson 

A name you probably weren’t expecting in the top 5 fastest Premier League players list. But, Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson is the second fastest in the top flight this season. The youngster has scored 8 goals and provided three assists in the league, and also has the pace to back it up. The future looks bright for the forward, who is only 22 years old right now.

1. 37.31 km/h – Kyle Walker

Walker remains at the top of the top 5 fastest Premier League players list for another year. The Manchester City right-back has blistering pace, which has seen him shut out the likes of Vinicius Jr, Mohamed Salah and more. He has also helped City win the Premier League title for a third straight season, and continues to hold down his place in the team in spite of his experience and the presence of the likes of Rico Lewis in the squad.
