SKY Just Became a Girl Dad — And the Whole of India Is Celebrating With Suryakumar Yadav

Amid the roar of IPL 2026, India’s favourite 360-degree batter Suryakumar Yadav has given fans a reason to celebrate that has nothing to do with cricket. On May 7, 2026, SKY and his wife Devisha Shetty welcomed their first child — a baby girl — and the internet has been melting ever since.

SKY Announcement That Sent Social Media Into a Frenzy

Taking to Instagram on Thursday evening, the Mumbai Indians star shared a heartwarming photo of his newborn daughter’s tiny hand gripping her parents’ fingers, writing “With giggles, bows, and dreams to unfurl — we welcome our baby girl.”

Few things unite India quite like cricket and a newborn announcement combined. This was both — and the response was instant and overwhelming.

Bollywood Comes Together to Wish SKY

Ranveer Singh, who is himself expecting his second child with Deepika Padukone, was among the first to comment — warmly welcoming Surya to the girl dad club. That’s a club getting bigger and more wholesome by the day in Indian cricket and Bollywood circles.

SKY’s Sweet Sacrifice for the Big Day

While the Mumbai Indians are currently fighting hard for a playoff spot in IPL 2026, Surya reportedly stayed back from the squad’s travel to be by his wife Devisha’s side for the birth. Fans are now eagerly watching whether the star batter will be fit and available for MI’s crucial clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 10.

That kind of priority is something cricket fans across India deeply respect — because for all the centuries and match-winning knocks, some moments simply matter more.

SKY and Devisha — A Love Story a Decade in the Making

Surya Kumar Yadav and Devisha Shetty tied the knot in July 2016 — making this first child together a moment nearly a decade in the making. A love story that began quietly, away from the spotlights, has now welcomed its most precious chapter.

Heartiest congratulations to the new parents — may their little girl grow up to be as fearless and joyful as her dad on a cricket field.
