Nike Joins the Paltan: Mumbai Indians’ Blue and Gold Gets a Swoosh in 2027

Every IPL fan knows the buzz of a new jersey reveal. This week, Mumbai Indians gave their Paltan something big to look forward to. Nike has signed a multi-year deal to be the official kit partner for the franchise’s men’s and women’s teams, starting with the 2027 season. thebridge

What’s Changing?

Nike will outfit both teams, including coaches and technical staff, across matchplay and training, and offer apparel to fans. The good news for early birds is that athletes and staff begin wearing Nike team gear this month, while the official match kits will be revealed closer to each 2027 season.

Fans also get something extra. The collaboration extends to fan merchandise inspired by Mumbai’s identity. Expect gear that feels as much like the city as the team.

Why It Matters?

For the five-time IPL champions, this is a fresh chapter after Skechers returned as kit partner for a third consecutive season in March 2026. The deal also covers the women’s side, which matters because Mumbai Indians became the first team to win multiple WPL trophies.

Tilak Varma, a Nike athlete and MI batter, called the move personal, and Nike India’s Tarundeep Singh said it’s about inspiring the next generation of players.
