Sauber rebrands as Stake F1 Team ahead of 2024 season

The Formula 1 team Sauber has now rebranded itself as the Stake F1 Team, announcing a new era. Formerly known as Alfa Romeo, Stake fostered a partnership with Sauber initially in 2023. But the next two seasons will see them change their name before being rebranded again as Audi’s factory team in 2026.

The name change was revealed by the Canadian rapper Drake, who is the team’s celebrity, sport and lifestyle partner. The Stake F1 team will be the first to announce their new car for the 2024 season, with the reveal set for February 5th.

Sauber was founded in 1970 by Peter Sauber, and operated under their own name from 1993 until 2005 and from 2011 until 2018. They were known as BMW Sauber from 2006-10 and were then called Alfa Romeo from 2019-23.

China’s Zhou Guanyu and Finland’s Valtteri Bottas are set to be the drivers in Stake’s first F1 season this year.
