Connectivity
CrossBeats has launched the “MActivePro” app for connecting the CrossBeats Ignite S5 Smartwatch with your smartphone. It is available for both Android and iOS. So, you’ll need to download the app and pair your smartwatch and smartphone via Bluetooth. It has great connectivity via BT 5.3 low energy chipsets which helps to highly reduce the power consumption of the watch and brings better stable and fast transmission to Android & IOS (compatible with iOS9 & above and Android 4.4 & above).
Once connected, you can personalize the CrossBeats Ignite S5 Smartwatch from your mobile device. Additionally, it can track all of your fitness activities in a single place. The app includes over 500+ watch faces that you can choose from or else you can also customize your own watch face which is pretty awesome. You can also select from recently added watch faces by rotating the crown on the side of the watch.
Design and build quality
The CrossBeats Ignite S5 Smartwatch will definitely remind you of the Apple Watch design. It comes with a square dial like the Apple Watch and also has a rotating crown in a very similar position. So, it does look like a lot similar to the Apple Watch which can be a big factor if you love the design of the Apple Watch but don’t want to spend big.
However, if you like a round dial, it can be a deal breaker for you. But, if you are flexible with the dial shape, then the CrossBeats Ignite S5 Smartwatch design will definitely catch your eye along with the rotating crown.
The CrossBeats Ignite S5 Smartwatch is made up of a full metal body which does give it a premium look. The red circle on the rotating crown also give it an extra touch of elegance. The silicon strap is also quite unique from other smartwatches as the strap doesn’t hang loose after wearing the smartwatch. The smartwatch is also quite lightweight, weighing just 45.7 gms, so it doesn’t feel heavy on the wrist.

Note – The CrossBeats Ignite S5 smartwatch can be charged only with the wireless charger provided with it in the box and doesn’t support other wireless chargers.

The CrossBeats Ignite S5 smartwatch comes with a 300mAh Lithium-Ion battery. I did a 0-100 battery charging test. And it took me a bit more than 1.5 hours but not greater than 2 hours, so it is almost close to the company-claimed charging time of 90 mins. However the smartwatch gets heated up during charging.
I have used the smartwatch for a full day (without the always on feature and Bluetooth calling) for around 17 hours and I was surprised to see that the battery was only reduced to 75%. With the always on feature, it does take a toll on the battery life and it got reduced to less than 50% after a day’s use.
The battery of the CrossBeats Ignite S5 smartwatch will last for more than 1 day under daily use along with the always on feature. In my opinion, this is actually a not-so-bad battery backup as it also houses a super bright and massive AMOLED display.

Bluetooth Calling
One of the main highlights of the CrossBeats Ignite S5 smartwatch is its Bluetooth calling facility. It has great connectivity via BT 5.3 low energy chipsets for Bluetooth calling and a powerful technology like ClearComm to back it up. It also has a dial pad, contact storage for 100 contacts and a built-in 2W speaker.
I tried Bluetooth calling with the smartwatch and it works pretty well. The person on the other side of the call can hear your voice clearly and also the built-in 2W speaker is good enough for you to hear what the other person is telling. Just one piece of advice, bring your hand near your mouth and ear, to get the best quality Bluetooth calling.
Verdict
If you are looking for a feature-packed smartwatch for Rs 5,000 then you don’t have to look further than the CrossBeats Ignite S5 smartwatch. The benchmark display along with wireless charging, always-on feature and Bluetooth calling, makes it worth every penny. If you don’t have a fascination for a particular brand, then you can definitely try this out and you won’t be disappointed.

Watch stopped working on second day of delivery. It is not charging and not turning on. And on top of that after so many email exchanges instead of offering refund or replacement, they are asking me to visit their service center which is more than 50 kms from my place.
Really poor product and customer service.
