The Sukumar Factor: Why This Pairing Is Box Office Gold
Ram Charan and Sukumar previously collaborated on the critically acclaimed Rangasthalam (2018) — a rustic, emotionally gripping drama that became a landmark in Telugu cinema. According to Wikipedia, the film was a massive commercial and critical success, winning multiple awards and cementing Ram Charan’s versatility as an actor.
Now, nearly eight years later, the duo is reuniting — and expectations couldn’t be higher.
Reports suggest Sukumar evaluated three different story ideas before locking in one strong concept. He’s currently fine-tuning the final draft of the script, which Ram Charan is expected to hear by mid-May 2026. Most pre-production work is reportedly nearing completion, making a July or August 2026 shoot launch highly plausible.
What About Peddi First?
Before RC17 kicks off, Ram Charan has Peddi to deliver — a rural sports action drama directed by Buchi Babu Sana, set for release on June 4, 2026. The film features an ensemble cast including Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, and Boman Irani, with Shruti Haasan expected in a special appearance.
Once Peddi hits screens and Ram Charan takes a short breather, the RC17 engine is ready to roar.
