Qualcomm is exploring its’ automotive platforms with the latest Volvo, Honda, Renault deals

Qualcomm has currently declared about their several new extensions of the partnerships with the major car companies for providing the hardware and software platforms to connect vehicles at CES 2022, so they have been partnered with Volvo, Honda, and Renault for adding more features to their upcoming vehicles.

Qualcomm connecting automotive platforms

Qualcomm already has the complete suite of automotive platforms, that will collectively call the Qualcomm Digital Chassis. The main target is to give the automakers with such multiple types of tools that they can utilize to make their vehicles more intelligent and more connected. The company also has the option to choose a platform that they want to use.

It includes:

  • Snapdragon Ride, which gives drives assistance and automated driving technologies.
  • Snapdragon Cockpit will give the experience in the car containing SoCs ad also has such software solutions for charging multiple displays and audio/.video/ multimedia.
  • Snapdragon Auto Connectivity will provide automakers with LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, and GPS solutions to connect cars with the internet, cloud, and other vehicles.
  • Snapdragon Car-to-Cloud Services provides mainly security features and also has such a platform for containing over-the-air updates with paid services. Additionally to vehicle e and also for the user analytics do that the automakers can monetize their vehicles.

We are giving you an example for Honda who has declared at CES 2022 that it will utilize the third generation Snapdragon Cockpit platform of Qualcomm to provide power to its latest Android-based infotainment system in the latest cars coming in the US, launched in the second half of 2022 and also in early in 2023. Volvo also shows their similar plan as a reference, and it working with both Qualcomm and Google with such an offer of Android infotainment systems in its latest Polestar 3 DUV and Volvo’s planned completely electric SUV.

On the other hand, Renault is also planning for a more high-tech adaptation of Qualcomm’s DigitalChassis, which is intending on utilizing Qualcomm’s platforms for connectivity, driver assistance, cockpit experiences, and cloud services on to the latest Renault vehicles.
