AMD EPYC “Rome” 7nm CPU prices leaked, 64C/128T CPU to cost $8K

New AMD EPYC CPUs to feature 8 cores to 64 cores, the best model to cost $8K, while 56 Core Intel Xeon costs $25K-50K

Finally after a year of wait, AMD EPYC CPUs are going to be launched in the next quarter and we have got potential leaks regarding the upcoming server and data-centric based CPUs.

AMD at the Computex 2019 mentioned their 64-core EPYC CPUs to the press and showed how these CPUs ripped off Intel at incredibly lower prices. But the Red team never stated their lower core – even the 8 core EPYC Rome CPU.

Yes, an 8 core EPYC 7nm CPU exists and you get a lot of choice regarding core count: 8 core, 12 core, 16 core, 24 core, 32 core, 48 core and obviously the monstrous 64 core version.

Credits: WCCFTech.com

The pricing of all these CPUs have been surfaced online and it seems these modern CPUs will be a lot cheaper than Intel’s counterparts. Also, there’s are many single socket version of these new CPUs abbreviated with a ‘P’ in the model name.

The top of the line EPYC 7742 has a TDP of 225W (64 cores/128 threads with a max clock speed of 3.4GHz) is likely to cost slightly under $8K.

On the other hand, the 7702P and 7702 EPYC 64-core CPUs have a lower 200W TDP and has been priced just at $7,215 and $4,955 respectively.

The power draw decreases with the number of cores and the max clock speeds ranges from 3.2 to 3.4 GHz. Also, each of these new EPYC Zen 2 CPUs is accompanied by a huge amount of cache memory.

This is amazing, especially when you get 64 Zen 2 cores for just $5,000! The competitor Intel’s 28-core Xeon Platinum 8280 costs a whopping $18K even though being half as powerful.

The recently announced Intel’s Xeon 9200 lineup with up to 56 cores is expected to cost you around $25K to $50K. The highest variant of the lineup – 14nm based 56-core Xeon Platinum 9282 has a pretty impressive boost clock of 3.8GHz but at the cost of 400W TDP which is almost double to that of AMD’s 64-core monster.

Another advantage that AMD’s Zen 2 architecture enjoys is the PCIe Gen 4.0 support that means these CPUs an enjoy higher bandwidth and increased transfer speeds and faster memory support.

The Xeon 9200 family comes with L3 cache of just 70-80 MB while the EPYC CPUs comes paired with up to 256 MB of huge cache memory.

Even the 32-core and 48-core EPYC Zen 2 variants will cost just $2.5K to $5K while Intel’s nearest competitor Intel Xeon Platinum 9221 with higher TDP of 250W will cost around $20K. Though the Intel one might just be a faster one at almost four times or eight times the price of AMD.

The lower end variants of 8/16/24 core EPYC Zen 2 CPUs start with price tag of just $650 and the 24-core 7402P costs just $1400. The older Xeon Platinum 8200 series with lower clock speeds and cache memory on the other hand starts with a hefty price tag of $3K.

So, if everything goes accordingly then the upcoming EPYC Zen 2 CPUs will destroy the server-end CPU market with its disruptive pricing and with its latest power efficient micro-architecture.

It will not be surprising to see a lot of companies shifting their servers to AMD to save a lot of bucks. Already AMD is building world’s fastest Super Computer with EYPC Zen 2 CPUs.

AMD's new 7nm EPYC Rome CPUs to consume more of Intel's Server shares

Companies and OEMs like Amazon, Microsoft, Dell, Lenovo, ASUS, Cisco and others are tying their hands with AMD to reform their servers with modern EPYC CPUs.

This is will be a great opportunity for AMD to snatch the Intel-dominated data-centric market by a good percentage to soar its already increasing stock.

Fernando Torres has confirmed his retirement from professional football

Spanish World Cup-winning striker Fernando Torres has announced his retirement from football after an illustrious 18-year career.

The 35-year-old is now playing in Japan’s J.League with Sagan Tosu but he will be mostly remembered for his spells with Atletico Madrid, Liverpool and Chelsea. And along with that it for a hugely successful international career with Spain.

Torres helped Spain clinch their first ever World Cup title in 2010 between back-to-back European Championship wins in a period of footballing dominance for the La Rojas. He scored the winner in Euro 2008 and was on target in their Euro 2012 final win. He played 110 games for Spain and is Spain’s third highest goalscorer with 38 goals. He played in six major tournaments for Spain.

Torres

Torres wrote on his official Twitter account on Friday: “I have something very important to announce. After 18 exciting years, the time has come to put an end to my football career.
Next Sunday, June 23 at 10:00 AM, local time in Japan, I will have a press conference in Tokyo to explain all the details. See you there.”

Fernando Torres said at a media conference held in Tokyo on Sunday: “I always say that the best player I ever played with is Steven Gerrard. I found in him the player that completed my game. I think my level reached a different dimension when I was on the pitch with him. It was an amazing three and a half years playing alongside Steven, and I would love to go back to those days, even if it was for one minute.”

Torres and Gerrard

He has also named Chelsea legend John Terry and long-serving Barcelona skipper Carles Puyol as his toughest opponents he had faced. He said: “It’s difficult to only say one name. I have played against some of the best defenders in the world. I remember when I played against John Terry, who later was my team-mate, that was really difficult. Also against Puyol. I would say these two – playing against Terry and playing against Puyol was a real nightmare.”

Torres has recognised that his level has dropped and is now considering a career in coaching. Torres addressed the media today to explain his decision to retire. He added: “I have a high demand from myself. I’ve always wanted to be honest and to perform at the level I think I should. And I think the time I will not be able to perform at the level I ask for myself is not far away and I don’t want to arrive at the time that I am going on the pitch and I’m not enjoying it.
So I want to put an end before that happens. Knowing my body and listening to my body, I think especially mentally that time is not far away and I want to finish my career in a good way before that happens.
I’ve always been honest with myself and the club I’m playing for – I think that is the best way. I gave everything I had for my club and I will still give in the next two months.”
To say goodbye to football next to two very good friends – we share too many memories together – will be something great. I tried to find an iconic moment to play my final game and I think that is the perfect timing. Ending my career, playing next to my dear friend Iniesta is something I could never imagine, and Japan is going to make it possible. Also, there will be my friend David Villa, with who I probably share the best moments in Spanish football history.
I don’t know if it will be coaching or managing. I will study both things. I’m sure it will be something related to football because it’s been my life and it’s where I think I can offer more things.”

Torres

Torres will play his last game on 23rd August against Vissel Kobe, who Iniesta and Villa play for.

Fernando Torres came through the ranks at Atletico Madrid. He joined them as an 11-year-old in 1995 and at the age of 17, he made his debut for the first-team squad. In his first full campaign for Atletico, he scored six goals in 36 Segunda Division matches. Atletico earned promotion after that and Torres got his first taste of LaLiga football in 2002-03. In that season, he scored 13 goals in 29 games and went on to establish himself as one of the league’s most promising forwards.

He then made a £20m move to Liverpool in 2007. Torres made a huge impact with the Reds, scoring 24 goals as he took the Premier League by storm in his debut campaign. He scored 81 goals in 142 games for Liverpool.

Torres

In 2011, Torres was signed by Chelsea for a then British record transfer fee of £50m. Although he failed to replicate his goalscoring form at Stamford Bridge, he was part of the Blues’ Champions League-winning team in 2012. He also won the FA Cup and scored in their 2-1 win against Benfica in the Europa League final in 2013. He scored 45 goals in 172 games at Chelsea.

Torres had a brief four-month loan spell at AC Milan but then he returned to Atletico Madrid in late 2014. He finished on the losing side as Atletico lost the 2016 Champions League final to their city rivals Real Madrid. But he won his second Europa League in 2018 with Atletico Madrid, which was his final appearance for Atletico. He then moved to Japan and now have decided to end his illustrious 18-year long football career.

Torres

Atletico Madrid released an official statement: “During his career he became a legend by his own merits, and left an unforgettable mark both in the field and in the hearts of everyone he worked with.”

Atletico Madrid have signed Marcos Llorente from Real Madrid

Atletico Madrid have signed Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente for a reported transfer fee of €40m.

Atletico Madrid have finalised the signing of Marcos Llorente from their city rivals Real Madrid on a five-year deal over a transfer reported to be worth €40million, on Thursday after he passed the medical at the Clinica Universidad de Navarra.

Llorente is expected to replace Rodri at the Wanda Metropolitano amid strong rumours that his compatriot is on the brink of a big-money move to Manchester City.

Atlético de Madrid on Twitter

Atletico Madrid issued a club statement: “We welcome a great footballer to whom we wish the best of luck in this beautiful new challenge.”

After joining Real Madrid’s youth set-up aged 14, Llorente progressed through the ranks, making his first-team debut in 2015 before being loaned out to Alaves the following season. The 24-year-old also had an impressive loan spell at Alaves in 2016/17 and won the U-21 European Championship that summer with Spain. His new team-mate Saul Niguez was also a part of that winning side. Llorente made 36 appearances in total and scored twice, during his time at Real Madrid. But he has made just seven LaLiga appearances last season and will hope for more opportunities with Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid

Llorente wrote on Twitter, with a picture of him holding the Club World Cup: “I was a child who, like so many others, dreamed of playing football. I grew up and started dreaming about playing at Real Madrid. I learned and put everything aside to do it and my dream was fulfilled. But you can never stop working, no matter how much you succeed, nor stop dreaming, no matter how much some dreams come true.
Today I leave Real Madrid, which has been my home since I was 14 years old. I leave with no regrets.”

Llorente is following in the footsteps of his father, Paco, and his grandfather, Ramon Grosso, who also represented both of the Spanish capital’s biggest clubs. Thibaut Courtois, Theo Hernandez, Raul, Alvaro Morata, Santiago Solari and Bernd Schuster have also played for both the city rivals – Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.

Adrien Rabiot to Juventus is almost a done deal

Adrien Rabiot is just a step away from becoming a Juventus player on a free transfer.

Adrien Rabiot and his mother and agent Veronique have reportedly told yes to Juventus’ proposal. Juventus have offered Rabiot a five-year-contract, earning €7m per season. A €10m signing-on bonus is also expected to be included in the deal, similar to the arrangement Juventus agreed for Aaron Ramsey’s free transfer earlier this year.

Rabiot has hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons in Paris, after numerous cases of ill-discipline and off-the-field antics have seen him play a limited amount of football with the Ligue 1 champions over the past year. He has confirmed his decision to leave the club last winter after rejecting all offers of a contract extension. He is free to join a new club after June 30th.

Rabiot

Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici has been personally overseeing the Rabiot pursuit and in the last few days, he had the opportunity to speak directly with the midfielder’s mother and agent, Veronique. As a result, there is confidence that a deal between the parties will be completed, possibly by the end of the weekend. He wrote on Twitter: “We’re interested in Adrien Rabiot and we made our move as other clubs. We’ll see what will happen”.

Paratici also commented about the French pair of Rabiot and Pogba, during the presentation of new coach Maurizio Sarri at the Allianz Stadium on Thursday: “Pogba and Rabiot are two good players. Pogba was with us for many years, he grew up here and we love him, but he is a Manchester United player.
Rabiot is an excellent player, there are many clubs who want him. We are in the running, not just for him, but there are other targets in our minds. We’ll discuss it with Maurizio and try to find the right targets together for the team we want to see.”

Adrien Rabiot

Despite being contracted through until 2021, Germany international Sami Khedira is believed to be on the transfer market. In addition, there is also some question over how France international Blaise Matuidi will fit in with new Juventus boss Sarri. So, Juventus are going to have a busy transfer window this summer.

India likely to host any of the two jerseys.

All participating teams in the World Cup, except for the hosts country, are required to provide two different coloured kits.

India are currently sporting a blue kit. Reports further suggest that the new jersey will be orange in colour with the collar sporting a blue strip. However, they will wear orange jerseys for their game against England on June 30.

Team India will wear an orange jersey for their World Cup 2019 match against England on June 30. India, who are sporting a blue kit for the World Cup, will turn out in a different attire for the game against England.

England, the hosts of World Cup 2019, are also sporting a blue jersey and they have the right to retain their kits.

India Today can confirm that Virat Kohli’s men will be wearing the orange coloured jerseys against England. The splattering of blue is expected to be the colour of the collar of the said new jersey.

South Africa changed the colour of their shirts from green to yellow for their second World Cup 2019 match against Bangladesh who also wear green kits on June 2. Bangladesh had also unveiled an away kit with a dominant red colour.

India have so far won 3 games against South Africa, Australia and Pakistan while the match against New Zealand was washed out due to rain.

Before taking on England, India will play Afghanistan (June 22) and West Indies (June 27).

Afghanistan might have to change their kits on Saturday as both India and Afghanistan don blue jerseys. According to ICC schedule of World Cup 2019, the upcoming match in Southampton will be treated as a home game for India.

Afghanistan had already announced their away kit which has red dominating the splattering of blue on their shirts.

However Virat Kohli and Co. are yet to see their new jerseys.

“Till last week, the Indian players had not seen their new jerseys,” an executive quoted.

“There is still confusion among various stakeholders whether the team would actually need to don new colours,” he added.

This will be the first time that India may be seen sporting two different jerseys in World Cup after the ICC introduced the concept of home and away ‘jerseys’ for this year’s World Cup.

AMD’s $199 Ryzen 5 3600 CPU beats Intel’s i7-9700K in Cinebench results

AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 3000 series processors are the first consumer level 7mm desktop CPUs. Months of wait is finally ending on 7th July, when they will finally land on shelves.

To make the wait much sweeter the continuous benchmarks of these potential CPUs are being surfaced online. And now we’ve got the benchmarks for the upcoming Ryzen 5 3600.

AMD's $199 Ryzen 5 3600 CPU beats Intel's i7-9700K in Cinebench results

The Ryzen 5 series is the most popular processor series among consumers for their sweet pricing and heavy performance. Ryzen 5 series is both for gaming as well as productivity.

So the successor of last year’s best selling CPU (Ryzen 5 2600), is again proving its worth by beating the blue team’s top of the line processor like the i7-9700K.

From its advent, the Ryzen series has been giving stiff competition to Intel and beating the highly priced Intel processors. But AMD lacked in single core performance that affected gaming.

AMD launches new 7nm Ryzen 3000 CPUs based on Zen 2 architecture

Now the time has changed, the improved TSMC’s 7nm fabrication has helped these CPUs to gain immense IPC performance. So not only these processors outthrow their nearest Intel processors but also challenge the top end ones both for single as well multi-core performance.

If you do not believe in words, then we have benchmarks for you. Videocardz has got the Cinebench scores for Ryzen 5 3600:

AMD's $199 Ryzen 5 3600 CPU beats Intel's i7-9700K in Cinebench results

Single Core performance

The Intel Core i7-9700K scores a modest 1451 points being a $374 processor. On the other hand, the Zen 2 based Ryzen 5 3600 is a bit faster with 1561 points.

The Ryzen 5 3600 is even inches away from the higher end i7-8700K which yields 1578 points in the single core performance test. So we now get a huge single core performance on a budget CPU even comparable to the higher end Intel processors.

Multi-Core performance

The Ryzen 5 3600 manages to get the fifth rank in the top 10 CPU chart. It only trails behind the likes of the Ryzen 7 2700X and the Threadripper 1950X.

This is just amazing considering the price point and the fact that this is a budget processor.

So from the benchmarks, we see why AMD is constantly taking the market away from Intel. Now the Red team has even taken the gaming crown away from Intel which they constantly boasted with.

Considering the price difference and the performance being offered, AMD will easily attract enthusiasts and gamers. The Ryzen 5 3600 is truly amazing considering the fact it will be a mid-range CPU offering high-end performance.
