There are a lot of rumours about the upcoming Navi 12 and Navi 14 GPUs that will target the budget gamers. It is said that upcoming Navi 14 line-up will offer a great alternative to NVIDIA’s existing sub $300 GPUs.

Though NVIDIA has the GTX 1650, GTX 1660 & the GTX 1660Ti, the graphic giant is not stopping to this. To bring some solid GPUs NVIDIA is likely planning for a GTX 1660 Super along with rumoured GTX 1650 Ti.

Chinese Website MyDrivers has revealed that NVIDIA is working on the GTX 1660 Super. Now it seems NVIDIA will most likely advertise the GTX 1660 Super more lowering the price of its predecessor, adopting the same tactics they showed for their RTX lineup.

NVIDIA is very much aware of AMD’s upcoming Navi 14 Graphics Cards. The GTX 1660 Super and the 1650Ti should offer some healthy competition to AMD’s next offerings.

NVIDIA plans to unveil GTX 1660 Super with GDDR6 Memory

Specs:

The GTX 1660 Super will use the same Turing architecture as the GTX 1660 but offer a faster GDDR6 memory previously seen in the GTX 1660Ti. It will use the same TU116-300 die as the 1660 and is likely to feature the same specs: 1408 CUDA cores, 80 TMUs, and 48 ROPs.

Nothing has been mentioned regarding the base and boost clock frequencies but we expect some healthy upgrade over the 1660’s clock speed. However, the memory here will receive a huge upgrade from 8GB/s GDDR5 to a whopping 14GB/s GDDR6 memory.

This memory speed surpasses the GTX 1660Ti’s 12 GB/s die. The new GTX 1660 Super will use the 192-bit bus interface, thus taking the total bandwidth to 336 GB/s.

The 1660 Super should likely be priced between the 1660 and the 1660Ti. Now this will make the 1660 Super a better buy because of its amazing specs which even challenges the GTX 1660Ti with a lower price.

Overall, the new GPU offers an excellent option to AMD’s upcoming Navi 14 line-up (i.e. the RX 5600 and the RX 5500). It will be interesting to see how GPUs perform in real-world games and applications.

With so many GPUs, gamers will have a lot of options to choose from especially in the budget segment. In the coming months, AMD is expected to launch the Navi 14 (RX 5600 and RX 5500) and Navi 12(RX 5800) graphics cards. So NVIDIA will also launch the GTX 1660 Super and GTX 1650Ti following to AMD’s launch.
