Clean is not your average courtroom drama. Laurent Lafitte plays Léonard Landry — a razor-sharp criminal defense lawyer with a serious cocaine addiction. His double life spirals completely out of control when he collapses from an overdose mid-argument in a courtroom. That’s one way to make an entrance.

After a stint in rehab, Landry is thrown into the fire almost immediately. With just one week to prepare, he must defend a powerful industrial conglomerate accused of ties to a terrorist network operating in Africa — a geopolitical minefield for someone barely keeping themselves together. At the same time, Landry is facing his own personal trial, with only a determined rookie lawyer (played by César Award winner Anthony Bajon) in his corner.

It’s a high-pressure, morally complex story about a man trying to stay clean in the dirtiest profession imaginable. Think The Lincoln Lawyer meets European prestige cinema.

A Cast Built to Win Awards

The talent assembled here is genuinely impressive. Laurent Lafitte — a former member of the legendary Comédie-Française and the Cannes Film Festival 2025 host — is riding an extraordinary career high after The Count of Monte Cristo pulled in 9 million admissions. Director Tristan Séguéla already earned BAFTA International recognition for Class Act, making this reunion feel like a genuine big-ticket collaboration.
