After a promising opening weekend, Love Insurance Kompany (LIK) is hitting some serious turbulence. Pradeep Ranganathan’s sci-fi romantic comedy has recorded a steep fall mid-week, and the numbers are raising uncomfortable questions about where this film ultimately lands.

What’s Going Wrong?
Directed by Vignesh Sivan, the sci-fi comedy drama hasn’t seen much growth at the box office — it is rather witnessing drops on weekdays, leading to a low opening week. The classic post-weekend cliff is hitting hard, and there’s been no word-of-mouth surge to cushion the fall.
The underwhelming box office trends are suggesting a disappointing end for the film — if it doesn’t show better legs on the second weekend, it will turn out to be a flop.

What Is LIK About?
Set in the year 2040, the film follows Vasu, a young man living in a world where technology decides everything in life, including love. When a love insurance company claims its app can successfully match every relationship through an algorithm, Vasu becomes the only threat after falling for Dheema — an incompatible match.
The cast includes Pradeep Ranganathan, Krithi Shetty, SJ Suryah, Gouri G Kishan, and Yogi Babu — a decent lineup for a Tamil romantic comedy with sci-fi ambitions.
