Rumors travel fast in Bollywood, and this week’s hot one had Golmaal 5 squaring off against Prabhas’ Fauzi on the same December weekend. Turns out, the makers aren’t having it — and they’ve shut the story down in no uncertain terms.

What the Rumor Claimed

Reports suggested Golmaal 5 would release on December 4, 2026, putting it in direct box-office competition with Prabhas’ Fauzi (releasing December 3) and Akshay Kumar’s untitled film with Anees Bazmee. A three-way December clash sounded dramatic enough to spread quickly.

The Official Clarification

Rohit Shetty Picturez didn’t mince words. A spokesperson called the release-date reports “completely false and baseless,” stressing that the team is fully focused on the film itself and that any real updates — including the release date — will only come through official channels. They also asked media outlets to stop circulating unverified claims.

Why This Matters

Golmaal 5 marks a full reunion of the franchise’s original cast, with Sharman Joshi returning after being absent from recent installments. Akshay Kumar joining as a new face — reportedly sporting a bald look and a villainous edge — has only added to the anticipation. With the film still in production, an official release date announcement is expected only once shooting wraps.
