Fauzi Release Date Delay: Why Prabhas’ Period Actioner May Now Land in February 2027

Prabhas fans hoping to catch Fauzi in theaters this December might need to hold on a little longer. The much-anticipated period actioner, originally slated for a December 3, 2026 release, is now reportedly being pushed to February 2027 instead.

Fauzi Release Update: Overview

Why the Delay?

According to a report by Telugu360, the makers are considering pushing the release due to extensive post-production work still remaining. While Prabhas is expected to wrap his portions of the shoot soon, several other segments of the film reportedly still need to be filmed. With that much work left, a February 2027 release plan appears to be gaining traction among the production team.

Adding another layer to the timeline, Netflix currently holds the digital rights to the film, and the makers are said to be in ongoing discussions with the streaming platform. No official confirmation has been made yet, but industry watchers expect a finalized release date announcement soon.

What Fauzi Is About

Fauzi is shaping up to be one of Prabhas’ most ambitious projects yet — a period epic in which he plays a British Indian soldier navigating a fictional story set against a real historical backdrop, evoking the tension and scale often associated with dramatizations of the British Raj era. The film also marks a notable casting moment, introducing internet personality Imanvi in her acting debut as the female lead, alongside veteran heavyweights Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, and Jaya Prada in key supporting roles.

What’s Next for Prabhas?

Fauzi isn’t the only big project on Prabhas’ plate. He was last seen in “The Raja Saab,” which received a mixed response from critics and audiences. Looking ahead, he’s set to headline “Spirit,” an action-packed cop drama directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, co-starring Triptii Dimri and Vivek Oberoi. That film is currently in production and scheduled for a March 5, 2027 theatrical release — meaning Prabhas could potentially have two major releases within weeks of each other, depending on how Fauzi’s schedule finally shakes out.
