The Exclusive Update

Sources close to the production revealed that the makers of Kalki 2898 AD have finalized casting for a cameo role to be played by a major pan-Indian actor. While the identity remains under wraps, the confirmation itself signals the sequel’s continued push toward an even bigger, star-studded canvas than its predecessor.

Alongside this reveal, it’s been confirmed that the team has already completed nearly a third of the film’s shoot — a solid marker of progress for a project of this scale.

Kalki 2: Overview

Big B and Kamal Haasan Finally Share the Screen?

One of the most exciting behind-the-scenes details comes from earlier this year, when Amitabh Bachchan shared glimpses from the Kalki 2 set, including pictures of himself with Kamal Haasan. Notably, the two legendary actors did not share any scenes in the first film — meaning the sequel could finally deliver a much-awaited on-screen moment between them.

What Is Kalki 2898 AD About?

The story begins at the end of the Mahabharata’s Kurukshetra war, marking the start of the Kali Yuga. Ashwatthama is tasked by Lord Krishna with protecting Vishnu’s final avatar until the time comes. Fast forward 6,000 years to 2898 AD, and the world has become a dystopia ruled by the tyrant Supreme Yaskin. As rebellion brews, hope emerges through an unborn child carried by SUM-80 (Sumathi) — a child believed to be the prophesied Kalki.

Prabhas’ Packed Release Slate

Before Kalki 2 arrives, Prabhas has a busy lineup ahead, including the period actioner Fauzi and Spirit with Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Fans eager for the Kalki universe’s next chapter will likely have to wait for these releases to wrap first.
