Not every franchise finale ends on a high. Drishyam: The Conclusion did. Ajay Devgn’s thriller is nearing the end of its theatrical run, and the numbers are as gripping as the plot.
The film has grossed over Rs 560 crore worldwide and is likely to close around Rs 570 crore. Trade estimates put its net profit above Rs 150 crore, which makes it the third most profitable Hindi film of the year. It sits behind Dhurandhar: The Revenge and Hanuman Ansh.

Where the Money Came From?
The finale cost Rs 170 crore to make, including a Rs 65 crore upfront fee for Ajay Devgn. Another Rs 20 crore or so went into releasing the film.

On the recovery side, non-theatrical rights brought in Rs 133 crore. The digital deal had a base value of Rs 100 crore with an upside tied to box office performance, and it rose to Rs 115 crore. The theatrical distributor share added an estimated Rs 233 crore.
The Hidden Twist
There’s a catch behind the headline profit. Panorama Studios had bought the Malayalam original’s third part at a very high premium and reportedly lost money on that deal. That loss can be seen as the cost of acquiring the IP, so it may offset some of the profit. How it’s accounted for isn’t known.
The profits will mainly be shared between Star Studios and Panorama Studios. Devgn’s fee was reportedly fixed, though a backend performance bonus is possible.
Why It Matters?
- It’s a rare franchise finale with career-high numbers for almost everyone involved
- Performance-linked digital pricing paid off for the producers
- It shows how rights deals can matter as much as ticket sales
