From Gangster to Hero: Netflix’s ‘Apartment’ K-Drama in 2026 Is the Show You Can’t Afford to Miss

If you’ve been craving a fresh K-drama that blends crime, comedy, and community drama under one roof — literally — Apartment is already your next binge. JTBC’s upcoming 2026 series is heading to Netflix, and the cast alone is reason enough to mark your calendar.

What Is ‘Apartment’ About?

Apartment follows Park Hae Gang, a former gangster who runs for his apartment building’s residents’ association president — not out of civic duty, but to get his hands on hidden money stashed in the complex. What he uncovers instead is deep-rooted corruption, and in the process, he accidentally becomes a local hero. Think: Squid Game meets neighbourhood politics.

The series is directed by Jo Yong Won (Sketch) and written by Kim Yoon Young (My Strange Hero) — a creative duo with a proven track record in gripping Korean television.

Star-Studded Cast

Notably, Apartment marks Ji Sung’s Netflix debut — a massive deal for fans who’ve followed the veteran actor across his celebrated career.

Why This K-Drama Has Massive Potential

K-dramas have evolved into a global phenomenon, and JTBC has consistently delivered some of Netflix’s biggest hits. Apartment ticks every box: a charismatic antihero lead, socially relevant themes around corruption and housing, and the kind of darkly comic energy that made shows like My Mister cult classics.
