When a K-pop artist quadruples their own personal best, you stop and pay attention. That’s exactly what DAY6’s Wonpil has done with his first solo mini album “Unpiltered” — and the numbers tell a story that even his most devoted fans probably didn’t see coming.
DAY6’s Wonpil Numbers That Speak for Themselves
Released on March 30, 2026, Unpiltered didn’t just perform well — it exploded. On its very first day alone, the EP crossed 60,000 copies sold, nearly matching Wonpil’s entire previous first-week record in a single 24-hour period. By the end of the official first week (March 30–April 5), Hanteo Chart confirmed total sales of 142,651 copies.
That’s more than 4x his previous record of 32,167 copies, set by his solo debut album Pilmography back in 2022.

Who Is Wonpil?
Kim Won-pil, known professionally as Wonpil, is the keyboardist and vocalist of the South Korean band DAY6, formed under JYP Entertainment in 2015. DAY6 is widely celebrated for their live instrument performances — a rarity in the K-pop world — and Wonpil has always been a fan favourite for his warm vocal colour and expressive playing style.
His solo journey began in 2022 with Pilmography, which at the time marked a respectable debut for a member venturing out individually. But Unpiltered makes it clear: Wonpil has arrived on a whole new level as a solo artist.
Why “Unpiltered” Feels Different
The title itself is a play on words — “Unpiltered” vs. Pilmography — keeping the wordplay going from his debut while signalling something rawer and more personal. The album seems to represent a more unfiltered, emotionally open side of Wonpil as an artist, and clearly that vulnerability is resonating deeply with fans.
The fact that he sold more copies on Day 1 alone than most artists sell in a full week is a testament to how much his fanbase has grown — and how much anticipation had been building since Pilmography.
