Acer brings the new Aspire 7 Notebook series with Kaby Lake G CPUs with integrated AMD Radeon Vega Graphics for $1,499
Last year we had some headlines when we heard that Intel and AMD are working together to bring a game-changing CPU series. Intel had named this series Kaby Lake G CPUs that has powerful integrated Vega graphics.
Intel has been the master for gaming and high-end CPUs along with mobile CPUs since ages. On the other hand AMD is the only company on Earth to make seamless and powerful integrated graphics for processors.
Intel did lack on the graphics part of their CPUs as compared to AMD’s. So, to make a great user experience for its large customers, Intel thought of combining their horsepower with AMD’s best-in-class integrated grphics to help consumers use their CPUs at the fullest for all kinds of modern day usage.
When originally the Intel Kaby Lake G CPUs were announced, they were promised to provide significantly better performance for laptops and mini-PCs than Intel’s iGAMD’s RadePUs.
Due to shortages in the 14nm chips, the number of devices that actually feature this processor became very limited, but now, Acer has launched its brand new series of Aspire 7 laptops powered by the Intel Kaby Lake G CPUs.
Acer Aspire 7 (2019)
The Acer Aspire 7 has always been on the top of the line, and this time also it bears a thin and light chassis which is just 0.67 inches thick and weighs as light as 3.3 pounds.
The laptop features a 15.6-inch FHD IPS display panel with thin bezels and a screen-to-body ratio of 80 per cent. It is powered by an Intel Core i7-8075G quad-core CPU with a base clock speed of 3.1 GHz, with turbo boost up to 4.1 GHz which significantly seems very fast for any laptop.
On the graphics front, we have the AMD Radeon RX Vega M GL Graphics card with 4 GB of dedicated VRAM and 20 compute units. To enhance the performance, it is couple with 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, 512 GB of NVMe SSD storage.
For I/O connectivity, it has got all the ports including USB-A, USB-C, HDMI, audio jack and a SD card reader. Also there’s the backlit keyboard along with fingerprint scanner and with Windows Hello support.
Due to such a slim and compact profile of the magnesium alloy chassis of this laptop, Acer was able to fit only a 3,220 mAh battery which they claim to last up to 7 hours of usage.
But, if you’re planning to game on this laptop, which you may sure want to because of such amazing specs of this laptop, then you can expect your laptop to run out of juice in less than 3 hours.
The new Acer Aspire 7 is already available on Amazon for $1,499. If you are looking for a slim as well as a powerful laptop, then this one might be the best option for you.
Real Madrid have reportedly held talks with Luka Jovic and Kalidou Koulibaly over potential summer moves but will have to battle it out against their arch rival Barcelona.
Zinedine Zidane returned to Real Madrid for his second stint as the manager. This move brought a feeling of peace at Real Madrid after they were knocked out of 3 competitions – Copa del Rey, LaLiga and Champions League – in a week. Santiago Solari was sacked after that and Zidane was brought in to restore Real Madrid’s pride. But in the 4 LaLiga matches of his second stint, the results have not been very convincing. Zidane’s side only beat Celta Vigo convincingly. The Huesca and Eibar wins were bleak, while Valencia beat Real Madrid Madrid 2-1.
It’s not sure whether scoring has been a problem for Real Madrid or not because there is even a shortage of chances created. For that reason, Eden Hazard is close to signing for the club. So now Real Madrid’s next objective is to secure the striking and defending positions. They have reportedly held secret negotiations with two Barcelona targets – Luka Jovic and Kalidou Koulibaly.
Luka Jovic has enjoyed a breakthrough season for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga. The Serbia international has been on Barcelona’s radar as well but even his personal preference is Real Madrid. Jovic feels that he will get plenty of minutes in Real Madrid and there will be no player having a say in matters at the Santiago Bernabeu. Zinedine Zidane has demanded a striker as Mariano Diaz failed to provide adequate support to Karim Benzema. He has identified Jovic as someone who can contribute now and in the future.
Kalidou Koulibaly continues to excel for Napoli in the Seria A. The Napoli central defender has been on Real Madrid’s radar for a while now, in addition to Barcelona and Manchester United. Los Blancos believe that a personal touch with the player will help them get an edge. Koulibaly has been singled out as Raphael Varane is considering his future and wanted to have a transfer away from Real Madrid and Sergio Ramos is also entering the twilight of his career.
According to MARCA, both the players are also targets for Barcelona, but Los Blancos have acted quickly to contact their representatives. Real Madrid do not want to lose on primary targets to their arch rival Barcelona. As they know it could help Real Madrid compete in the Champions League again.
Do you think Luka Jovic and Kalidou Koulibaly will fit into the Real Madrid squad? Comment your views.

Finally Intel has announced up to 56 core Xeon Platinum Server CPU Lineup to counter the upcoming AMD’s EPYC Server chips
Intel in the past few years has not really amazed the tech world yet, holding its previously gained position and so with its processors. The same old 14nm architecture is being followed and used in most of their consumer end as well as server end processor lineup.
Already AMD is breaking through with its Ryzen processors in the consumer end, and now is targeting the server space by its upcoming 7nm EPYC Rome processors.
Now, in this situation, Intel had to do something for its huge server market, and that’s why they’ve announced the Xeon Platinum Server CPUs.
These Xeon Scalable data center processors have been announced at Intel’s Data-Centric Innovation Day at San Francisco. Intel even announced 53 different variants of the new series with the highest end variant going up to 56 cores, 112 threads and 12 memory channels per chip.
Apart from unveiling the Xeon Scalable server processors, Intel has also showcased the Optane DC Persistent Memory DIMMs at the event.
On the other hand, Team Red’s 7nm EPYC beasts with up to phenomenal 64 cores and 128 threads in a single chip will directly challenge the Intel’s Cascade Lake lineup and double of that in a dual socket server.
Also, the Intel’s new server-side Xeon processors come with Multi-Chip Module which fuses two dies as a single chip, quite similar what has been shown for the new upcoming EPYC processors.
The top-end Xeon Platinum 9282 processor boasts of an impressive 3.8 GHz boost clock speed and a 2.6 GHz base clock and a huge 77 MB of L3 cache.
The dual die design in each of these processor helps you to achieve up to 12 channels memory controller for DDR4 2933 and up to 24 channels in DDR4 3TB in dual socket server.
These processors have been rated at a whopping highest TDP of 400W, which can certainly be kept cool only using water cooling stuff.
Also, these chips won’t be compatible on previous gen motherboards, which I think is a big disadvantage to AMD, who has declared that their new end EPYC Rome processors will be compatible with its previous-gen motherboards.
Juventus are willing to offer Paulo Dybala to Barcelona in exchange for Philippe Coutinho.
Philippe Coutinho has been rumoured to leave Barcelona after he has failed to impress in the Barcelona colours. He will have to try to regain his career elsewhere. It now seems that Juventus could be his new home. On the contrary, Paulo Dybala could move in the opposite direction. Dybala has struggled to get match time after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in the last summer. The two stars have not fully settled in at their clubs and now could change their places.
A newspaper recently reported interest from the Catalans in the Argentine jewel. Dybala has had less of a starring role in the team since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, even being benched in big games when he was once the main star in the attack. Barcelona could be open to striking a swap deal with Juventus to end Philippe Coutinho’s Nou Camp struggles. The Brazilian has endured a frustrating time at Barca since his move from Liverpool in January 2018. Coutinho has seemingly failed to convince boss Ernesto Valverde and there are suggestions he will move on this summer. He is not thought to be open to returning to England and that has alerted clubs elsewhere in Europe that a deal could potentially be struck.
But this deal would not be a straight swap. Juventus would have to add some extra cash because Dybala is rated at €130 million while Coutinho’s valuation is €150 million. There’s also the matter of salary. Dybala’s current salary is lower so Barcelona could take it on and save relative to Coutinho’s wage. However, Coutinho’s higher wage could break Juventus’s structure, which had already changed radically with the signing of Ronaldo. It also remains to be seen if Juventus would be willing to meet his hefty wage demands, particularly after signing Aaron Ramsey on a free transfer.
Dybala has often been forced to play from a wide position to accommodate Ronaldo and is aware he may have to move on. However, he would likely have to accept a similar role at the Nou Camp due to Lionel Messi. And there have always been rumours about the relationship between the Argentine pair.
At the moment this swap deal is only an idea rather than a fully-fledged proposal, but when you are talking about an exchange involving names as big as these, it’s something that spurs the imagination.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez said on Tuesday that the club hopes to begin the revamp of the Santiago Bernabeu – which will make it the best stadium in the world – as soon as the current season finishes
Real Madrid have long been expected to refurbish their historic home ground. The plans initially began in 2009. And now finally on Tuesday, Florentino Perez delivered a presentation that showcased the approved plans and a final design, which will bring the 72-year-old stadium up to the standard of modern arenas.
The Santiago Bernabeu was previously renovated in 1982 and again in 2001. But this renovation plan is a modern day genius. The new design of Real Madrid’s stadium will cost around 500 million euros ($560 million). It includes a retractable roof and a metal envelope around the outside, which will be able to project images and videos. It will increase the stadium’s height by 12 metres. There will also be a 360-degree screen that runs round the entire internal rim of the roof, an interactive museum, shops and galleries that offer both views of the pitch and the stadium’s surrounding areas.
The present day Santiago Bernabeu
Florentino Perez said in his speech: Today [Tuesday] begins the countdown to the beginning of an architectural innovation in our stadium. It is one of the great projects of the future for the club and the city. We appreciate the presence of the mayor of Madrid, Manuela Carmena and representatives of the council. Thank you for helping us in our challenge. Since we [Perez and the board] arrived at the club, we took on the responsibility of two challenges: the reform of the stadium and the creation of the Ciudad Deportiva de Valdebebas [Madrid’s training base]. Since our mandate, €500million has been invested in it, in improving facilities, so that partners and fans can feel proud of our heritage and facilities, but Real Madrid is what it is for our values.”
Real Madrid have released a brilliant video on their social media channels, revealing every new design.
— Real Madrid C.F. 🇬🇧🇺🇸 (@realmadriden) April 2, 2019
Perez further added: “We are bound to excellence, it is time to transform the stadium. Our future necessarily involves a new benchmark Bernabeu, the best stadium in the world; avant-garde, comfortable, secure, with cutting-edge technology, and that is a new important source of income. In 2009, we shaped those dreams with a difficult path. In May 2017, the special plan for the reform of the stadium was finally approved, which was final. From that moment, we started to develop different licenses and projects. Now, the tender for the work has been carried out. Next week we will sign the financing contract and soon the tender will be closed with the aim of starting as soon as possible when this season finishes.”
Real Madrid’s final home game will be on 19th May against Real Betis. So we can hope that work will begin very soon after that. The Santiago Bernabeu’s capacity of just over 81,000 seats is not due to increase but a number of technological advancements will be made.
Florentino Perez continued: “We want it to be an iconic stadium for the future. We will fund it from the money we will make from the new stadium. We want Real Madrid to be competitive in what is now a new landscape of world football.”
Real Madrid plan to complete the project within 42 months without disrupting the team’s calender. It will be ready to play in by 2023. Renovations are expected to cost around €500m, with the club agreeing to pay for their new stadium over 25 years without “any impact on sporting activity”. The new stadium is expected to generate an extra 150 million euros ($168 million) in revenue per year.

The upcoming AMD EPYC Rome CPUs based on 7nm architecture is likely to crush Intel’s server-end Xeon processors and likely to consume more than 10% of Intel’s server share by 2020
As already we’ve discussed earlier, the Red Team will be rocking this 2019 with its new 7nm processors, this time both for the consumer end as well as the server end lineup. Ever since AMD announced the Ryzen series processors, they have completely changed the silicon industry pattern.
Especially with their quality chips at low prices, they have attracted a lot more consumers than ever before.
Now, they are also concentrating more on the server-end business than the consumer market which they have already started to capture over their prominent rival Intel.
AMD has already shown the demo of their new 7nm EPYC Rome processors in CES 2019, where one EPYC chip has blow away two of Intel’s best Xeon chips currently use in the market. These new chips are based on “Zen 2 architecture” and have a humongous 64 cores and 128 threads.
The demo of EPYC Rome CPU against two of Intel’s best Xeon CPUs
Already Amazon Cloud Services have declared their partnership with AMD to bring the new EPYC processors in their servers for customers as well.
If we see AMD’s server market share, in 2014 they had a mere 0.8% market share and by Q4 of 2018, this has grown to 3.2%.
The EPYC series of server processors have no doubt made an impact on the OEMs, cloud service providers, hosting providers, and others.
The EPYC Rome CPU
From the last gen of EPYC CPUs, the newer “Rome” chips will be much faster and efficient that will help companies to benefit from them and also they are much more secure for the future.
The fact also remains that as these chips are quite low priced than Intel’s, nearly half, so it’s an obvious fact that more and more companies will ditch their old Intel CPUs for better processors which will enhance the performance.
INTEL’S SERVER PROCESSOR MARKET SHARE IS LIKELY TO FALL BELOW 90% BY THE END OF 2020, AS AMD WITH ITS EPYC SERIES CONTINUES TO ATTRACT MORE ORDERS FROM SERVER VENDORS AND CLOUD SERVICE PROVIDERS, ACCORDING TO MARKET SOURCES.
DigiTimes
AMD’s aggressive pricing and impressive multi-threaded performance has proved to be the deal breaker for them. Even a Japan-based enterprise NTT Data will also be equipping the AMD chips on their own servers for better customer satisfaction.
It is also heard that the monstrous Atos BullSequana XH2000 super computer will also leverage more than three thousand AMD EPYC Rome processors that will result in a total core count of approx 200,000 and 400,0000 CPU threads.
So, it is clear that AMD is likely to have a bright future, mostly because of its insane performer chips and constantly delivering newer and better processors at rightful price points to both consumers and now to enterprises.
With an aggressive preview of new 7nm products AMD is ready to take on its competitors market in this 2019 AMD, the Silicon giant, has provided an interesting CES keynote. AMD CEO Dr Lisa Su has announced world’s first 7nm GPU named the Radeon VII based on “Vega 2” architecture.
