In 2020, we are getting new smartphones every now and then with the latest flagship SoC i.e. the Snapdragon 865 and scoring new AnTuTu benchmark records. Last week the Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro was holding the #1 spot in the AnTuTu benchmark but now we have Nubia’s upcoming 5G gaming smartphone.
Nubia has already been teasing some of the important specs of the smartphone including a groundbreaking 144Hz AMOLED display, the Snapdragon 865 SoC using the X55 modem coupled with 16GB of RAM. A Weibo post has confirmed the AnTuTu score of the smartphone.
Xiaomi’s Black Shark 3 Pro scored a total of 620952 points while the newcomer Nubia Red Magic 5G has outdone it with 633724 points. Nubia has even pointed out that it has achieved it because of the inclusion of its new physical fan that has been improved from its successor.
Nubia Red Magic 5G will sport 64MP Sony IMX 686 sensor
The new fans apparently go up to 15000 rpm and have been confirmed via a Weibo post, whereas the Red Magic 3 could go only as far as 14000 rpm.
The Nubia Red Magic 5G is said to sport a 6.65-inch AMOLED display with a high 144Hz refresh rate along with 4400mAh battery that may charge at a rate of up to 80W. It is also said to sport the latest 64MP Sony IMX 686 sensor and full details will be unveiled on March 12, 2020, at its launch event.
The Red team has stunned the world with its Ryzen 4000 mobile processors which indeed performs as expected from an improved 7nm based Zen 2 architecture. Their gaming focussed Ryzen 4000H series gaming APUs have stunned us as well with the Ryzen 7 4800H.
But now we have the leaked benchmarks of the cheaper Ryzen 5 4600H APU which seems on par with Intel’s upcoming 10th Gen Comet Lake Core i7-10750H. This seems quite surprising as the AMD processor in spite of lacking enough clock speed and cache has managed to challenge its higher opponent.
The 3DMark Fire Strike and Time Spy benchmark results seem interesting, the AMD Ryzen 5 4600H scoring 17,466 points in the Fire Strike Physics test. On the other hand, the upcoming Core i7-10750H scoring 17,921 points which seems damn close! The Ryzen 7 4800HS scores 20,970 points while the Ryzen 5 4500U scores 10,042 points.
Being a very CPU-intensive test, it’s great to see the upcoming Ryzen 5 4600H giving the costlier Core i7-10750H some hard time already. The Core i7-10750H has a 700 MHz clock advantage, higher L3 cache and a more refined 14nm process over the Ryzen 5 4600H which boasts of its latest Zen 2 architecture and has proven to be revolutionary for the company.
Coming to the Time Spy results, we see that the AMD Ryzen 5 4600H managing to score 6,499 points in the CPU test while the Core i7-10750H scoring 6,761 points, very close indeed!
It will be interesting to see the real-world performance of both the processors and judge them on basis of both their price and performance but AMD already has an edge over Intel, integrating its gaming APUs with a stronger Vega graphics and a much efficient 7nm process.
We know that NVIDIA’s upcoming GPUs will be releasing in a few weeks and so more and more leaks are now getting surfaced suggesting the power of these GPUs. The leakster @_rogame managed to unearth Geekbench 5 OpenCL scores of some unknown NVIDIA GPU.
The scores of this GPU has put the best ever Titan RTX GPU to shame, the GPU scored 184,096 points in OpenCL beating the Titan RTX by nearly 39%. There are actually two cards spotted, this one comes with 118 compute units (CUs) or 7,552 CUDA cores, a maximum frequency of 1.11 GHz, along with 24 GB of VRAM.
The other GPU features 108 CUs or 6,912 CUDA Cores with1.01 GHz max clock speed and 46.8 GB of reported VRAM. This GPU scored 141,654 points in the same test.
If compared with the latest flagship GPUs, GV100 scores 142,837 while a Tesla V100 GPU scores 154,606, and a Titan RTX manages about 132,804 in the same Geekbench 5 OpenCL benchmark.
If we do believe the GPU is an Ampere GPU, it nearly boasts of 39% increased performance over the Titan RTX when considering the card with 7,552 CUDA Cores and about a mere 6.7% improvement when comparing the GPU with 6,912 CUDA Cores.
Even though we cannot deduce some solid info from the leaked benchmarks but we can see that these are not the consumer-oriented Ampere GPUs but the premium ones. Although these GPUs have high core counts this is not the full chip.
The NVIDIA Ampere GPUs will have much higher compute power than a Quadro GV100
The GA100 is supposed to be the full version of Ampere GPU series with 8,192 CUDA Cores. Also, the fact remains the type of memory used has not been confirmed whether it’s a GDDR6 one or HBM2/2e.
These newly found GPUs can be the new Tesla GPUs because an RTX 3080 is assumed to have 3,480 CUDA Cores and 10/20 GB 320-bit GDDR6 memory, featuring a GA103 chip.
The new NVIDIA Ampere GPUs are scheduled to be released at the GTC 2020 which is supposed to be held on March 23 even though of the Coronavirus outbreak but it will be an online-only event this time.
We can expect NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang giving a keynote and actually launching the new GPUs and sharing more about its new architecture.

The Black Shark 3 is up for pre-orders and will go on sale on March 6. According to the company’s Weibo post, the 8GB + 128GB variant of the Black Shark 3 is priced at CNY 3,499 (roughly Rs. 36,800), the 12GB + 128GB goes for CNY 3,799 (roughly Rs. 39,900), and the 12GB + 256GB variant costs CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 42,000).
The Black Shark 3 Pro is currently up for reservation with pre-sale starting on March 10. The 8GB + 256GB model is priced at CNY 4,699 (roughly Rs. 49,400) and the 12GB + 256GB model is priced at CNY 4,999 (roughly Rs. 52,600).
Both the Black Shark 3 and the Black Shark 3 Pro is currently only available in China with no information on availability in foreign markets.
Coming to the accessories, there are aplenty. The clip-on cooling fan is priced at CNY 179 (roughly Rs. 1,890). Black Shark says that the cooling fan can bring down temperatures by 14 degrees Celsius in just one minute. Along with these, there are earphones, both wired and wireless, and a variety of cases as well.

According to this tweet made by the official page of Xiaomi India, it says that the emergence of coronavirus infection cases in India as the reason behind the cancellation of its March 12 on-ground event. To recall, Xiaomi announced yesterday that it will launch the Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro at an event on March 12. The Xiaomi executive today mentioned that the company will not hold any launch event in the country throughout March in order to make sure that its employees, partners, and fans are not exposed to the COVID-19 virus.

Redmi is launching yet another smartphone of the Note series on 12th March in a new avatar. This time the Redmi Note 9 series is getting a new look. What do we know so far?
Xiaomi recently promised that it will launch a smartphone powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor. Given the positioning of Snapdragon 720G in Qualcomm’s portfolio, the Redmi Note 9 Pro is the most likely candidate to pack this particular SoC. If that materializes, the Redmi Note 9 Pro will also offer support for the NaVIC satellite positioning system that was developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). As for the standard Redmi Note 9, there is no word whether Xiaomi will stick with Qualcomm or if the phone will come equipped with a MediaTek chip.
Another detail revealed by the Redmi Note 9 series’ Amazon microsite is a curved glass rear panel. In another tweet, Jain gave us an early look at a Redmi Note 9 series phone in a photo. The phone appears to have a sky blue paint job with a curved glass rear panel. At the base, one can see the speaker grille, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Official twitter account of Vivo Indonesia is tweeting about the launch of Vivo’s next V series device Vivo V19 with a punch-hole display and the launch date is on 10th March.
The tweets also showed the image of the Vivo V19 and from that, we can also see that the device will have a punch-hole display and a rear quad camera setup.
