Luka Jovic apologises after breaching self-isolation

0

The Coronavirus outbreak has caused a lockdown on a massive scale in the whole world. Almost all the football clubs have ordered their players to keep them isolated in their houses.

Spain has almost 18,000 confirmed COVID-19 victims. Real Madrid had gone into quarantine after a player on their basketball team tested positive for the virus.

Luka Jovic travelled back to Serbia to see out his self-isolation period, with Real Madrid’s permission. But the 22-year-old was reportedly seen out partying in the Serbian capital – celebrating his girlfriend Sofia Milosevic’s birthday party.

Jovic has now explained his case in his official Instagram account. He wrote: “Since the situation in the world and in our country is very difficult, I have to come forward and give support to my people.”

“First of all, I am very sorry that I am the main topic these days and that I am constantly being written about, not the heroes of this crisis, doctors and all the medical professionals.”

“While in Spain, I [tested] negative for coronavirus and decided to come to Serbia to help and support our people and be close to my family, in agreement with the officials. When I landed in Serbia, I was once again tested and coronavirus negative.”

“It is very unfortunate for me that some people did their job unprofessionally and did not give me the correct instructions for how to behave in self-isolation. In Spain, I was allowed to go to a pharmacy and a supermarket so that I could get the groceries I needed, which is not the case here.”

“I apologise to all the people if I compromised them in some way and I hope that we can manage to get through all this together. Support Serbia and let’s stick together.”

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told in a news conference that repeated offences would prompt arrests. He said: “These young men are millionaires, so they think they can do everything – you can’t do everything. Everyone will be severely punished, all who disobey the law. The easiest thing to do is punish them.”

“I’m sure those two boys [Luka Jovic and Ascoli winger Nikola Ninkovic] who have mentioned remorse have been reported, and I hope we can avoid it. They are both in isolation, and if they try to get out, they will be arrested. They are basically good guys, I understand them. We have many who should be more responsible and have not gone into isolation.”

The new iPad Pro’s Magic Keyboard with trackpad support starts at $299

0

We’ve seen Apple’s iPad Pro series to be quite expensive and so is its accessories and its keyboard is one of them. With its silent of the new iPad Pro (2020), Apple has also upgraded its signature Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro and included the much-asked trackpad support.

Apple has finally added a trackpad to its all-new official keyboard accessory, thanks to the new iOS 13.4 update that will help users to use the trackpad while interacting with the iPad Pro.

This all-new keyboard has ditched the infamous butterfly mechanism in favour of Apple’s revised Magic Keyboard scissor-switch. Obviously, Apple had to tweak its keyboard so that it stays in line with the touch-first approach which it has always supported for its iPad range.

Apple iPad Pro with A12Z Bionic & LiDAR Scanner starts at Rs.71,900

The Magic keyboard is quite costly than its standard keyboard because of the new scissor-switch mechanism found on the new 16-inch MacBook Pro which increases key travel to 1 mm.

Also, the keys now feature backlighting and do feature a USB Type-C port that has been added to one side of the keyboard which in-turn enables the iPad Pro to be charged and leaves the iPad Pro’s USB Type-C port for other purposes.

The signature inclusion of the “click-anywhere” trackpad allows for full cursor control which should make it easier to edit spreadsheets and text. It also supports the multi-touch gestures which MacBook users would be familiar of but designed for the new iPad UI. These gestures will allow users to switch between apps, activate the Dock, Control Center and apps in Slide Over as well.

The new iPad Pro's Magic Keyboard with trackpad support starts at $299

The Magic keyboard case enables the iPad Pro to literally ‘float’ above the keyboard for a smooth angle adjustment. This actually suggests that there will no longer be a slot on the keyboard to support the iPad in place which seems cool.

This new Magic keyboard which looks quite interesting on paper has been priced at $299 (Rs.27,900 in India) for the 11-inch iPad Pro and $349 (Rs.31,900 in India) for the 12.9-inch version but it will only be available in May 2020.

What’s so special about the new LiDAR scanner on the iPad Pro?

0

Apple has improved the iPad Pro’s camera and included a LiDAR scanner instead of a 3D ToF sensor. This kind of sensor is found in police speed cameras but what’s the point of adding it to the new iPad Pro? Let’s find out:

The rear camera array on the back of the device looks similar to what we find on Apple’s iPhone 11 Pro series but looks much more decent on the iPad Pro as this is a huge device itself.

Apple’s new LiDAR sensor sits alongside the new 10MP ultrawide camera and a standard 12MP camera. The word LiDAR stands for “light detection and ranging” and it is actually used to measure how long it takes light to reach an object and reflect back, quite useful for scientific purposes.

What's so special about the new LiDAR scanner on the iPad Pro?

So, being that much complicated, it’s more accurate than a 3D ToF camera sensor which does measure the round-trip time of an artificial light signal provided by a laser or LED to capture an entire scene.

While the LiDAR sensor uses a scanner to capture elements of a scene point-by-point using lasers. So, according to Apple, the sensor works up to five meters away, indoors and out, working at the photon level and at nanosecond speeds.

As the camera array does lack a dedicated depth sensor, the LiDAR scanner can actually work as a depth sensor along with its other special features. The LiDAR Scanner works with the pro cameras, motion sensors and frameworks in iPadOS to measure depth.

According to Apple, this combination of hardware, software and unprecedented innovation makes iPad Pro the world’s best device for augmented reality. Apple has introduced this technology to increase the augmented reality capabilities of the new iPad Pro, quite expected from a high priced / powerful tablet. More info on Apple’s official site.

Cheol Choi, the executive vice president of Memory Sales and Marketing at Samsung Electronics said, “with our introduction to the fastest mobile storage, smartphone users will no longer have to worry about the bottleneck they face with conventional storage cards.” He also added, “The new eUFS 3.1 reflects our continuing commitment to supporting the rapidly increasing demands from global smartphone markets this year.”

Samsung-Embaded-Storage-Memory-Lineup_technosports.co.in

As per Samsung, their eUFS 3.0 takes more than four minutes to move 100GB of data. But the new eUFS 3.1 takes just around 1.5 minutes to do that which is very much impressive. It offers 100000 I/O per second while reading and 70000 I/O per second while writing.

The calculation shows this scale is nearly 60% faster than the available eUFS 3.0. Samsung Community also declared that the 256GB and 128GB variant will also available along with the 512GB.

As a result, scruffy smartphone users will experience a smoother performance, all kinds of data transfer within the storage and many more. For now, waiting is the only way. So, keep patience and stay with TechnoSports.

Sony PlayStation 5 to feature 825 GB SSD & can fill 16 GB of RAM in just two seconds

0

It was known that the upcoming PS5 would feature SSD and Mark Cerny did stress a lot upon is the console’s storage. Xbox has taken a different approach to speed up game load times by implementing fast removable SSD drives while Sony is taking a different approach.

The Sony PlayStation 5 will feature an odd 825 GB of internal SSD storage which connects to a custom flash via a 12-channel interface delivering a 5.5 GB/s of raw throughput. This capacity helps Sony to make good use of available NAND.

Sony has made the console’s SSD so fast that the console’s 16 GB of memory can be filled in just two seconds i.e. 2 GB in 0.25 seconds. This Sony’s custom flash controller has a hardware decompressor whose performance equivalent to that of nine AMD Zen 2 cores and can deliver up to 5.5 GB/s of raw and up to 9 GB/s of compressed throughput.

Sony PlayStation 5 hardware specs revealed, not as powerful as Xbox Series X

This controller connects to the Zen 2 CPU via a four-lane PCIe Gen4 bus and is custom-built, helping developers can prioritize data blocks to eliminate any bottlenecks. Then there’s dedicated DMA controller equivalent to the performance of one or two Zen 2 cores, custom processors that handle the I/O mapping, and coherency engines.

When comes to external storage, external hard drives can be used for storing backwards compatible PS4 titles also PC NVMe drives can be used but a PCIe Gen4 drive would give you best results. It also supports decompression of the Kraken format developed by RAD Game Tools, which ultimately gives you a throughput of up to 9 GB/s.

The PS5’s storage has six priority levels while PC NVMe drives right now have only two so Mark Cerny has asked to wait before purchasing an external NVMe drive to ensure that it passes Sony’s validation for fitting inside the slot as well as meet the bandwidth requirements. Sony’s implementation seems more realistic than the Xbox’s expansion card storage system.

Borussia M’Gladbach players will waiver part of their salaries to pay other employees

0

The Coronavirus outbreak has been a major blow to the economy of all the countries. There have been 13,632 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Germany, with 33 people dead.

With the football matches suspended in Germany at least till 2nd April, there aren’t any revenues coming for the workers and staffs. Clubs across the world have taken many measures to fight against financial problems.

Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach’s players have taken a great initiative in this time of need due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The players have willing decided to waiver part of their salaries to make sure everyone gets paid.

borussia m'gladbach

Borussia M’Gladbach’s sporting director Max Eberl said in an interview with the club’s official website: “I didn’t have to explain much [to the players]. The players know what’s going on. It’s their job, they have already informed themselves and thought about it.
The team has offered to forego salary if it can help the club and its employees.”

He further added: “I am very proud of the boys. It is a clear signal: We stand together for Borussia, in good times and in bad. They want to give something back to Borussia and therefore also to all the fans who support us. The coaching staff joined in, just like our directors and managing directors.”

More than €1m a month in total will be given up by the squad and it will be used to pay the club’s other workers. This is a great gesture from the Gladbach players.

Sony PlayStation 5 hardware specs revealed, not as powerful as Xbox Series X

0

After a lot of speculations about the upcoming PlayStation 5, Sony has revealed the key specs of its upcoming gaming console. Already Microsoft has spilt the specs of its upcoming Xbox Series X which indeed will be the key competitor to Sony’s new product.

It was known that both Sony and Microsoft would be using AMD hardware for its gaming consoles, Sony’s Mark Cerny spoke in detail about the PlayStation 5’s hardware. Sony will too use AMD RDNA 2 GPU architecture like Microsoft that will enable high performance in games and implement features like hardware accelerated Raytracing.

So, the console will feature a custom AMD CPU based on the Zen 2 architecture, with its frequency capped at 3.5GHz, whereas the Xbox Series X has a custom AMD CPU based on the Zen 2 architecture that runs at 3.8GHz.

Sony PlayStation 5 hardware specs revealed, not as powerful as Xbox Series X

While the GPU will have 36 compute units (CUs) and its boost is capped at 2.23 GHz, so the GPU has 10.3 TFLOPs of GPU horsepower, on the other hand, Xbox Series X has 52 CUs with 1.825 GHz GPU clock speed and 12 TFLOPs of GPU horsepower.

Even though the PS5 has about 44% lesser CU count than the Xbox Series X but makes it up with high boost clock speeds, but a 2.23 GHz frequency is not always attainable.

Expectedly, there are supports for hardware-accelerated ray tracing which is another important feature of RDNA 2 that will be made possible by the Intersection Engine which is built into the shaders. This feature will obviously make the supported games much more life-like implementing reflections, shadows, ambient occlusion, and global illumination.

The PlayStation 5 also supports Geometry Engine block that offers a good deal of control over primitives and creation of primitive shaders while we don’t know whether it supports machine learning or variable refresh rate which Xbox Series X does. More details regarding PS5 will be covered in our next articles.

English football has extended 2019-20 season indefinitely with no football matches until 30th April

0

All football matches across the world have been postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Initially, Premier League and other English divisions decided to suspend the matches till 3rd April.

The FA, Premier League, EFL and women’s professional game, together with the PFA and LMA, have now collectively agreed that the professional game in England will be further postponed until no earlier than 30 April due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The FA’s Board has also agreed to extend the 2019/20 season indefinitely in relation to Professional Football.

The official statement read: “The FA, Premier League, EFL and women’s professional game, together with the PFA and LMA, understand we are in unprecedented times and our thoughts are with everyone affected by COVID-19. “

“We are united in our commitment to finding ways of resuming the 2019/20 football season and ensuring all domestic and European club league and cup matches are played as soon as it is safe and possible to do so. “

“We have collectively supported UEFA in postponing EURO 2020 to create space in the calendar to ensure domestic and European club league and cup matches have an increased opportunity to be played and, in doing so, maintain the integrity of each competition.”

“The FA’s Rules and Regulations state that ‘the season shall terminate not later than the 1 June’ and ‘each competition shall, within the limit laid down by The FA, determine the length of its own playing season’.”

liverpool

“However, The FA’s Board has agreed for this limit to be extended indefinitely for the 2019/20 season in relation to Professional Football. Additionally, we have collectively agreed that the professional game in England will be further postponed until no earlier than 30 April.”

“The progress of COVID-19 remains unclear and we can reassure everyone the health and welfare of players, staff and supporters are our priority. We will continue to follow Government advice and work collaboratively to keep the situation under review and explore all options available to find ways of resuming the season when the conditions allow.”

“We would all like to re-emphasise that our thoughts are with everyone affected by COVID-19.”

This is good news for all the English football fans as this season will be completed no matter how late it gets. Liverpool have been the most dominant side in England this season and they already have their one hand on the trophy. So declaring this season null and void would have been an insult to their 30-year long wait for the Premier League trophy.
