Samsung Galaxy Note10 series is launching on August 7.

Note series of this year is here.

According to a report earlier this month which stated that Samsung would launch the Galaxy Note10 on August 10. But now, citing people familiar with Samsung’s plans, CNET reports that this South Korean tech giant will unveil its 2019 Galaxy Note on 7th of August instead.

The launch event will be held in New York City at the Barclays Center, which is the same place where the Galaxy Note9 debuted last year.

Samsung is said to announce two phones under the Galaxy Note series this year – the vanilla Note10, and the Pro model. Leaked renders have revealed that both the devices will have similar designs, except that the Pro variant will boast a larger display with an extra camera at the back.

This Note10 duo will sport a punch hole at the center of the display and will have no headphone jack. Samsung has also ditched the dedicated Bixby button which has been subject to a lot of hate in the past.

We are still more than a month and a half away from the expected unveiling of the Galaxy Note10 series, so expect more details to follow in the coming weeks.

Xiaomi officially showcased its Under-Display Camera phone.

The Future of Under-Display Camera Smartphone is here.

Xiaomi confirmed at the starting of this month it is working on an under screen front camera that finally eliminates the need of a notch, a hole-punch, or even a pop-up slider. The camera hides underneath a special low-reflective glass that doubles up as a camera lens on top as well. This technology is still under works, and Xiaomi Senior VP Wang Xiang has now detailed on how this technology will work. He says that the ‘Xiaomi’s Under-Display Camera Technology could be the ultimate solution for a Full-Screen Display coexisting with a front camera’.

The Future: Under-Display Camera

Do you want a sneak peek at the future? Here you go…introducing you to Under-Display Camera technology! #Xiaomi #InnovationForEveryone

For Xiaomi’s implementation of the feature, the camera is embedded in the top of the device, as usual. But instead of putting a border around it (a notch) or cutting a hole in the screen (a hole-punch display), the camera is covered with a “special-low-reflective glass with high transmittance.”

Oppo officially showcased the Under Screen Camera (USC) smartphone.

Xiaomi says the setup allows the area of the display to become transparent to take pictures, and the transparent display then cleverly doubles as the camera lens on top.

Wang Xiang on Twitter

Xiaomi’s Under-Display Camera Technology could be the ultimate solution for a Full Screen Display coexisting with a front camera! RT if you love it. #InnovationForEveryone

Xiaomi also notes that by not trying to make the camera (and, therefore, the inevitable notch) as small as possible, the transparent display system allows for a larger sensor and better image quality than its existing teardrop notches.

It doesn’t appear to be a perfect system yet: in Xiaomi’s slides, you can still see a faint outline of the camera lens underneath the active display, but it’s at least a useable area of the screen instead of one that’s obscured entirely by a monolithic notch on top. Compared to other notch-less solutions, like pop-up lenses or flipping cameras, there are no mechanically moving parts to worry about here.

All we need now is a phone that actually uses the new camera. All Xiaomi is saying for now is that it’s “currently exploring the possibility.” Although knowing the company’s love for experimental smartphones that push new form factors and technology, hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long.

Oppo officially showcased the Under Screen Camera (USC) smartphone.

Oppo : MWC Shanghai 2019 updates.

Oppo showed off a device at the Mobile World Congress in Shanghai, June 26 that proves to the mobile phone industry that under-screen front cameras are no longer a technology reserved for the future.

OPPO on Twitter

OPPO’s brand new solution for full-screen display – Under-screen Camera (USC) has just been unveiled here at #MWC19 Shanghai! 🤯 #MoreThanTheSeen https://t.co/c1FUEbXS0P

The teaser video, which was shared by Oppo’s official Weibo account and also in its official Twitter account, shows the evolution of a design with respect to the front camera adopted by Oppo phones over the years. It starts with a phone with thick top bezels and then shows Oppo’s rotating camera solution, a phone with a conventional boat-shaped notch, a waterdrop notch, the Oppo Find X’s sliding camera design, and the Oppo Reno’s shark fin pop-up camera design. Lastly, we see a phone with an under-display camera with a glowing ring around it.

As smartphone displays continue to grow and manufacturers try to utilize every square millimetre of their screens, notches have become necessary obstructions required to house front cameras.

OPPO on Twitter

The algorithms behind our USC technology showcased at #MWC19 include haze removal, HDR and white balance resulting in a bezel-less phone, yet with a selfie camera that rivals current smartphones in the market today. #MoreThanTheSeen

Oppo has a long history of trying to eliminate notches from their smartphones before finally arriving at this point: The Find X’s front camera is positioned on a device-wide slide-up mechanism, the Reno 10X Zoom Edition’s front camera has been placed on a component that slides up from behind the camera asymmetrically, and the F11 Pro simply features a small, lens-wide mechanism that pops up from the centre of the top edge of the phone.

In response to the unpopularity of these solutions, Chinese tech firm Oppo on Wednesday unveiled a smartphone with a full-screen display whose front camera has been placed beneath the screen.

The section of the screen where the camera is located beneath has been modified to improve the transmission of light. When the display is in use without the camera-enabled, this small section is a little darker than the rest of the screen, but it still offers users an unobstructed image.

At the MWC, Oppo did not say when this technology would be integrated into a commercial device, but they did note that it will hit the market in the “near future”. – AFP Relaxnews

Antoine Griezmann has agreed a five-year deal with Barcelona

Griezmann has reportedly agreed a five-year deal with Barcelona and hopes to finally end this long-running transfer saga.

The French World Cup winner has already announced his intention to leave Atletico this summer and Barcelona have long been favourites to secure his services.

Griezmann joined Atletico Madrid from Real Sociedad in 2014. He was initially linked with a move to Barca last summer but decided to stay in Madrid. He has scored 133 goals in 257 games for the club and found the net 21 times in all competitions last season.

Griezmann

The Frenchman’s release clause is set to drop to €120m (£107m) from €200m (£178m) on 1st July and it is expected that the Catalan club will complete the transfer once that reduction comes into effect.

L’Equipe and Marca reported that the 28-year-old has already agreed a five-year contract at the Camp Nou, which will see him earn around £15 million per year (€17m) which could rise if performance related add-ons are met.

Griezmann

Atletico Madrid chief executive Gil Marin has also claimed that he has known that Griezmann would be heading to the Camp Nou since March. Atletico are already preparing for life without their star forward and have made an approach for Portuguese wonderkid Joao Felix. They have offered €126m for Joao Felix. Felix enjoyed a breakthrough 2018-19 campaign, scoring 20 goals and assisting 11 in 37 appearances.

Griezmann’s departure is just one of a flurry of player exits from the Wanda Metropolitano this summer, with a whole host of key players leaving Atletico such as Lucas Hernandez, Diego Godin and Juanfran.

Manchester United have signed Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace

Manchester United have completed the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace for a reported fee of £50 million.

Manchester United confirmed the signing of 21-year-old Wan-Bissaka on Saturday following a lengthy negotiation with Crystal Palace that reportedly began earlier this month. He becomes the club’s second arrival of this summer transfer window after 21-year-old Wales winger Daniel James signed from Swansea City.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka made 42 Premier League appearances in total for Crystal Palace, including 35 starts last season. He will now like to have the same kind of impact at Manchester United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has adopted a new strategy of transfer at Manchester United this summer. In recent years, United’s transfer policy has favoured experienced heads like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Nemanja Matic and Alexis Sanchez. But now, in Solskjaer’s time, they are going for younger and hungrier talents for being successful in the long term.

Wan-Bissaka and Solakjaer

Manchester United manager, Solskjaer said: “Aaron is one of the best upcoming defenders in the Premier League. He has the right work ethic, talent and mentality to play for Manchester United and he fits exactly the type of player that we are looking to bring into the squad to help us improve and push on further.
Aaron is a young, hungry player and eager to learn and that’s important at his age. I am delighted he has signed with us and we look forward to continuing his tremendous development so far.”

Aaron Wan-Bissaka also commented on his United transfer: “It’s an unbelievable feeling and an honour to call myself a Manchester United player and something I know that only a small number of players have the privilege to say.
I can’t wait to get going and integrated into the squad. I will have a short break now after the [Under-21] European Championships but I’m looking forward to starting training with the manager and my new team-mates on the pre-season tour.”

Wan-Bissaka

Wan-Bissaka also saluted Hodgson for giving him an opportunity in the senior ranks. He wrote on Instagram: “I would like to thank the youth coaching staff and first-team staff for helping me massively to develop into the player I am today.
Most importantly, I would like to thank Roy Hodgson for giving me the opportunity I have always dreamed of, which was to play in the Premier League. The faith and trust he had in me led me to have the chance to take my development to the next level.”

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish told the club’s official website: “Wan-Bissaka is a really fantastic young man and we have all enjoyed having him as part of the club for the past 10 years. He is a shining example of what south London is about and I wish him the very best for the future journey with Manchester United and England.”

Xiaomi is going to launch the CC series on 2nd July.

What is CC? Here it is discussed in detail.

Xiaomi acquired the smartphone company Meitu last year and we were expecting the first product of that collaboration to be called Xiaomi CC9 and a lighter Xiaomi CC9e. The company promised us an announcement today, and it happened, but it turned out it involved no actual phones.

Lei Jun, Xiaomi CEO, introduced the CC series, explaining the meaning behind the name. It means Colorful & Creative, and is developed by the Chic & Cool 90 team.

There were no phones in the announcement and we are still waiting for an official date of the flip-camera CC9.

The number in the CC9 moniker stands for the age of the company – 9 years. This is not the first time a smartphone by Xiaomi has changed its name to celebrate a birthday – the Mi 7 was skipped and the company jumped straight to Xiaomi Mi 8 flagship last year.

The Xiaomi CC smartphones will be the third brand by the company following the Redmi and Mi phones. This will be a different series, designed by art students and targeted at young fashion trendsetters that “want to define themselves”. The Chic & Cool 90 team pursuit aesthetics first, which could mean the phone is likely to have less than impressive specs.

Lei Jun also added that young people have the desire to be seen and heard, they love to take photos and share their beauty with everyone. The new phone will have a new aesthetics concept of “Xiaomi X Meitu AI Aesthetics Lab”, combining advanced camera hardware and beauty technology.

This is likely a different way to say Xiaomi is going to implement even more beauty filters and AI engines to enhance the photos since those are very trendy China, but time will tell.
