At the CES 2019 finally Intel shows off its 10nm Ice Lake processors instead of the repeatedly delayed Cannon Lake 10nm platform CPUs.
This will now be the widely available series of 10nm CPUs from Intel. The new Ice Lake CPUs will use the Sunny Cove core microarchitecture and a new Gen11 integrated GPU, announced both at the Architecture Day last month.
The Gen11 GPU will even support adaptive sync and will deliver 1 Tera Flop of GPU horsepower. Intel is now building in supports for Thunderbolt 3, Wi-Fi 6, and Deep Learning Boost into these Ice Lake chips for better futuristic performance both for laptops and PCs.
Intel is also promising that PC makers will be able to make PCs with Ice Lake processors that will be available on shelves by the end of 2019. At the CES keynote, Intel even demonstrated ODM systems from Pegatron and Wistron.
Dell also joined Intel on stage to readily show off an Ice Lake-powered XPS laptop that said to be available later by this year. Ice Lake chips will also introduce new instruction sets to accelerate AI and machine learning.
Intel is also aiming for future as well, the chip giant is planning to use the Foveros 3D chip stacking technology to build future chips.
The Foveros 3D chip Stacking Technology
In this method, Intel’s chip designers will be able to stack extra processing power on top of an already-assembled chip die. Now, these chiplets can be stacked one on top of another to form a processor that even includes graphics, AI processing, and much more.
Well, Ice Lake seems promising and finally something “genuinely positive approach” from Intel finally after years of fake promises. Ice Lake CPUs are expected to ship in volume in time for the 2019 holiday shopping season, so availability starts from Q3 of 2019.
NVIDIA rebrands G-SYNC HDR as G-SYNC Ultimate, now G-SYNC will be available on FreeSync monitors as well
It has been years since one problem for gamers existed – You could not use to activate the G-Sync feature for NVIDIA GPUs on FreeSync monitors. Now finally, in 2019, NVIDIA is looking forward to this.
NVIDIA has announced support for the VESA DisplayPort Adaptive-Sync protocol. This means PC gamers will finally be able to use NVIDIA graphics cards even with a wide variety of AMD FreeSync monitors in the market.
At its CES 2019 keynote, NVIDIA has revealed that it’s essentially rebranding the G-SYNC HDR displays as the G-SYNC Ultimate. The HDR program was launched last year CES, promising a very high standard of gaming now gets enhanced in this CES.
Just like as AMD rebrands the VESA spec to FreeSync for its own range of products, NVIDIA will now also incorporate this protocol for G-Sync as well. NVIDIA will conduct tests on VESA Adaptive-Sync/FreeSync monitors on the market.
Those monitors that will pass NVIDIA’s validation tests will now be labelled as G-Sync compatible and G-Sync will get enabled by default through the GeForce driver.
So, you can expect your FreeSync monitors to get support for G-Sync as well if it qualifies the test and then you can download the drivers to run G-Sync for smooth gaming using your GeForce graphics card.
The company now essentially has three G-SYNC tiers including G-SYNC Ultimate, G-SYNC and the G-SYNC Compatible for certain qualifying AMD FreeSync monitors.
NVIDIA currently has identified only 12 monitors from various manufacturers that are G-SYNC compatible. Now, only a couple of monitors have been certified, including the ASUS ROG Swift PG27UQ and Acer Predator X27.
So, there will be more G-SYNC-compatible regular monitors and HDR monitors coming this 2019. This will originally help NVIDIA to expand and attract more customers to buy GeForce RTX GPU instead of a AMD Radeon graphics card.
The support for these FreeSync monitors will originally start from January 15 with a driver update and this will be available to both the 10-series and 20-series NVIDIA graphics cards.
India reinforced their status as the world’s number one team and retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with a historic 2-1 series win.
Indian cricket got its new seminal moment after talismanic Virat Kohli led the country to a maiden series victory on Australian soil, ending a 71-year wait to script a golden chapter in the game’s history.
Coming into this fifth Test, India had an unassailable 2-1 series’ lead after winning the first Test in Adelaide by 31 runs and the third Test in Melbourne by 137 runs. Australia had won the second Test in Perth by 146 runs.
Australia were still trailing by 316 runs when the match was called off as a draw, ending India’s 71-year wait after wins in Adelaide and Melbourne. It is the first time India managed the feat since they began touring Australia in 1947-48. Consequently, Virat Kohli became the first Indian as well as the first Asian captain to win a Test series in Australia.

“I want to say I’ve never been more proud of being part of a team, than this one right here.” said Kohli. “The boys make the captain look good. By far, this is my biggest achievement. It’s at the top of the pile.”
“It is a young bunch of guys and to have that belief to keep striving for excellence on a daily basis and to get a reward like this we definitely have to be happy.”
Kohli added: “We definitely want to build on this and always promote the message of Test cricket being the most important and the most valued format of the game, which it rightfully is. From where I see it, this is our vision for Indian cricket.”
Australia skipper Tim Paine paid tribute to India. “Have to tip our hat to India, we know how tough it is to win in Australia so congrats to Virat and (coach) Ravi (Shastri) because it’s a huge achievement,” he said. “Disappointed, definitely over the last two Tests. We had our chances in Adelaide, in Perth I thought we played some good cricket, but in Melbourne and Sydney, we’ve been outplayed.”

Finally NVIDIA launches their power efficient GeForce RTX 20-series Max Q GPUs for the laptops that will enable Ray Tracing
At pre-CES 2019, NVIDIA made the announcement of their upcoming RTX 20-series Max Q graphics cards that are specially built for gaming laptops. This will help laptop gamers to sense the taste of Ray Tracing capabilities while playing games.
Apart from unveiling the RTX 2060 for desktop, they have also unveiled the G-Sync Ultimate. So, tactically before 2 days of AMD’s Keynote, NVIDIA has made headlines with all of their new product.
It’s been months since the launch of RTX 2070 and RTX 2080, and with the latest RTX 2060, NVIDIA has offered GPUs for all types of budgets expect the RTX 2050. And cleverly, they have introduced the RTX 20-series Mobile GPUs for laptops.
Like the Pascal generation before, the RTX 20-series Turing cards will filter down into the mobile form using the same basic core configuration as their desktop counterparts. NVIDIA is bringing its mobile RTX cards to more than 40 laptops including the Razer Blade 15.
The RTX 2080 and RTX 2070 are coming in Max Q, which means they will dynamically manage the power used by the GPU to fit inside sleek laptop chassis. The Max Q technology here helps to cut power consumption by around 10% compared with a full-fat GPU.
They also expect 20 per cent more performance from an Nvidia RTX 2080 Max-Q compared to a GeForce GTX 1080 Max-Q. Also, these GPUs will be 40 per cent more efficient than previous gen as well, that means these GPUs will give higher battery life on laptops.
“Max-Q models with GeForce RTX 2070 deliver up to 20 per cent higher performance than the popular GTX 1070 on traditional games and with GeForce RTX 2060 up to 50 per cent higher performance on traditional games compared to GTX 1060”
NVIDIA
The mobile RTX 2080 has been rated at 5-7 Giga Rays per second, on the other hand, RTX 2070 delivers about 4-5, and the RTX 2060 just 3.5 Giga Rays per second.
The power of RTX is coming to thin & light laptops.
At #CES2019 we announced over 40+ laptops featuring our GeForce RTX GPUs.
As well know RTX cards work pretty well when DLSS is off and give mind-blowing frame rates even at 4K. But, if DLSS is turned on they just give a bare 60 FPS that too depending upon the surroundings in the game (for RTX 2070 and RTX 2080).
Now, the question arises whether these mobile GPUs which seem promising can handle games with DLSS turned on in 1080p and even in 4K? NVIDIA even admits that the minimum for a good ray tracing experience is 5 Giga Rays per second.
This means the RTX 2070 and RTX 2060 powered laptops might well struggle to deliver on the full RTX experience. The addition of DLSS support to the Ray Tracing will significantly help mitigate that potential DXR problem. The RTX-equipped laptop will also include NVIDIA’s G-Sync Ultimate.
The full range of RTX-enabled laptops including that from Acer, Asus, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo Legion, MSI, Razer, and Samsung will arrive at the end of this month on January 29th.
Also, NVIDIA will pair up games like Battlefield V and ANTHEM, which are well optimized for DLSS support, for pre-launch offers. An RTX 2080 laptop will pre-include both of the games or just one of them for RTX 2070 or RTX 2060 laptops.
Brahim Diaz has completed a £15.5m ($19.8 million) move from Manchester City to Real Madrid. In a deal that could rise to £22m with add-ons.
Brahim Diaz with Real Madrid club president Florentino Perez
Real Madrid confirmed the signing on Monday, several hours after Diaz had completed all the medicals, with the 19-year-old signing a six-and-a-half-year deal.
“I have arrived at a club that I dreamed of playing for as a child,” an emotional Diaz said. “I could not have received a better Christmas present than wearing the Real Madrid jersey.
“When I decided that it was time to leave Manchester City, I only put three options on the table. “The first, to play for Real Madrid, the second to play for Real Madrid, the third to play for Real Madrid”.
“I never wanted to go anywhere else, it is impossible to go to a better club. I promise to give 100 percent from the first day and to pay back the faith you have put in me.”
Diaz, 19, played a total of 50 minutes for City in the Premier League last season but has not featured in this campaign. He has made three League Cup starts in this campaign, scoring twice in a 2-0 win over Fulham in November.Diaz is the latest in a long line of young Spaniards to have signed for Real in the last four years, including current Spain internationals Marco Asensio, Alvaro Odriozola and Dani Ceballos.
A clause in the deal means that Manchester City will receive 15 percent of any future transfer fee. However that will rise to 40 percent if the buying club is Manchester United.
Diaz had rejected offers of a new contract from City and was set to become a free agent in the summer.

Tactically, NVIDIA has launched two days before of AMD’s new gen 7nm Navi GPUs. Not only have they announced the RTX 2060, but also they have announced the G-Sync Ultimate technology as well as the RTX graphics cards for laptops as well.
Let’s discuss more them:
The RTX 2060
The new RTX 2060 is a lot more powerful than its predecessor. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang took the stage at the CES keynote. He gave a briefing dedicated specifically to the company’s RTX gaming technology.
Then, he introduced the new RTX 2060, the company’s latest GPU with ray-tracing capabilities.
The RTX 2060 will debut at $349 from January 15 onwards with 52 trillion Tensor FLOPs, 6 GB of GDDR6 memory and 5 GigaRays per second.
Mr Huang showed it off by running a demo of Battlefield V, with RTX on at 1440p. A mission in the Battle of Rotterdam was show and also he pointed out how the water reflects the sun and boats on the water.
As we all know Ray Tracing makes the games much more lifelike, buildings in the game were reflected on the water and even fire was reflected. This was previously seen as well, but this time on RTX 2060.
Huang compared the performance of RTX 2060 on games which is “dramatically higher” than its predecessor GTX 1060. The newbie performed up to twice on titles like Wolfenstein II and even on other popular titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
“An RTX 2060 has higher performance than a 1070 Ti”
Jensen Huang, CEO NVIDIA
He even showed off the performance chart of several previous NVIDIA GPUs, including the GTX 960 and 970 with the latest beast.

The RTX 2060 has 1920 CUDA cores and has a base clock frequency of 1365MHz and boost up to 1680MHz. The VRAM support still remains 6GB max because of the same 192 bit Memory Bus Width.
It has a significant amount of TFLOPS amounting to 6.5 TFLOPS, similar to that of GTX 1070. Considerably the RTX 2060 has a memory clock of 14Gbps based on the newer GDDR6 memory. It has a TDP of 160 Watt and is based on TSMC’s 12nm architecture.
The GPU is supposed to perform a lot better in modern titles even if you keep the RTX on and will help gamers to get smooth FPS in games like Battlefield V, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and much more in 1080p rather than 4K.
Soon, ANTHEM will be launched this January 2019 and NVIDIA has declared the DLSS support for this game as well. Though the graphics card might be priced at $349 it will surely get a price hike and in countries like India, the RTX 2060 can land in January end or by February.
Also, there will launch offers with this card, you will get either of the games Battlefield V or ANTHEM, free with the new RTX 2060 and RTX 2070. And with RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti, you can get both for free as well.

This is India’s biggest win in their Asian Cup history and their first win in the tournament after 55 years.
Sunil Chhetri’s penalty (27′) gave India the lead before Thailand hit back through Teerasil Dangda (33′). However, India turned on the charm in the second half with another strike from Chhetri (46′) and goals from Thapa (68′) and Jeje (80′) sealed the result and sent India to the top of Group A. Stephen Constantine opted to hand Ashique Kuruniyan a start alongside Sunil Chhetri in attack.
It was India who took the lead against the run of play. Kuruniyan made a swashbuckling run down the left and his effort came off the goalkeeper Budrom but ricocheted off Bunmathan’s hand which saw the referee award India a spot-kick. Chhetri stepped up and sent the custodian the wrong way to make it 1-0 for Constantine’s side.
Thailand quickly equalized in the 33rd minute. Bunmathan’s free-kick from the left saw an unmarked Dangda head the ball home.
The Blue Tigers bounced back in style immediately after the break. Songkrasin lost the ball and Thapa initiated the counterattack , finding Udanta Singh down the right who made a blazing run and crossed for Kuruniyan. The Kerala winger back-heeled it for the onrushing Chhetri whose first time shot sailed into the back of the net.
India scored their third goal in the 68th minute through Anirudh Thapa. The midfielder once again kick-started the move before Chhetri released Udanta. The right winger was closed down by Wiriyadomsiri as he found an unmarked Thapa who coolly chipped it into the far corner.
India rubbed further salt to Thailand’s misery when Narzary sent a ball for Jeje and the Mizoram striker chipped the ball into the back of the net from the edge of the area.
India completed a convincing 4-1 win over Thailand. A historic night for the Blue Tigers as they win their first Asian Cup match since 1964 India simply could not have asked for a better start. 3 important points in the bag. Even if they draw their next two matches, India will go through to the knockout rounds. They will now face UAE followed by Bahrain in the Asian Cup.

With Monaco rumoured to be signing him, Cesc Fabregas is likely to have played his last game for Chelsea as the Blues beat Nottingham Forest 2-0.
Alvaro Morata scored a brace to help holders Chelsea into the FA Cup fourth round with a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest as Cesc Fabregas missed a penalty in what appears to be his final game for the club.
Fabregas was given a standing ovation as he was replaced by N’Golo Kante and left the field in the 85th minute. The Chelsea faithful rised to acknowledge a man who helped the club to two Premier League titles in a trophy-laden four-and-a-half years at the club. Fabregas returned to the pitch after the full-time whistle and was visibly emotional as he paid tribute to the Chelsea fans.
Reports have indicated the 31-year-old will hold talks with Ligue 1 strugglers Monaco on Sunday ahead of a reunion with former Arsenal team-mate Thierry Henry, who took over as head coach in October.
Cesc Fabregas believes his technical quality has never abated even if he has begun to lose sharpness. “It is always something that I have had, and it feels like growing up and getting older, it is one of those things that really does never go away because it is technique.” he told Chelsea’s website. “Physicality goes away from all of us unfortunately when you get older, you lose speed, you lose some sharpness, but technique I think is something that always stays with you when you have something, so hopefully it can stay with me for a very long time yet.”
“With the penalty, when I stopped in the middle of my run, I saw the goalkeeper going down and I thought that I had it, so yes, it is unfortunate but the day I did 100 caps for Spain I also missed a penalty!”
“It feels like it was last week I started playing professionally and now it is over 15 years. It is a long time but for the young players when they start playing, my little advice is to enjoy it every single second because it goes so fast. In football you have to be ready every three days, you have to live with criticism, you have to live with everyone saying how good you are – up and downs – and you just think I am young, I have time but time really does fly, so enjoy every single second of it.” Fabregas said.
Fabregas joined Chelsea in June 2014 in a €33million transfer from Barcelona. The Spaniard has won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and an EFL Cup after arriving at Stamford Bridge. He has played 198 games for Chelsea and has scored 22 goals and provided 55 assists. Fabregas bid farewell to English football, after a combined 12 and a half years, first at Arsenal and then Chelsea, either side of his three-year spell at Barcelona.
“He’s played for Spain in the era when they won everything and he held his own with the likes of Xavi and [Andres] Iniesta. He’s going to go down as one of best midfielders ever.” Rose Barkley said.
Eden Hazard added “In five years, I can say that I was lucky to play with him. Since the beginning, when he came, we saw with the first year we won the double together. A top guy on the pitch, off the pitch, great friend of mine, not just admiration. I hope he will have a good future. He’s a bit old now, but he’s still very good and he will enjoy.”
If he joins Monaco as expected, Fabregas will reunite with his former Arsenal team-mate Thierry Henry, who is trying to guide the club out of the relegation zone in Ligue 1.
