XMG Apex 15 will be the world’s first Ryzen 9 3950X powered laptop

In the past few years, we have seen quite a few desktop-grade CPUs packed into the laptop form factor and mostly it has been done with Intel CPUs. With time things have turned round and AMD has jumped into the performance leadership and the Ryzen 3000 processors delivers better price-to-performance ratio than Intel’s 9th gen CPUs.

OEMs are quickly adapting their products to the AMD trend and Schenker, a German OEM that specializes in custom-built systems, will be the first one to make a laptop featuring the humongous Ryzen 9 3950X, the fastest desktop CPU ever.

Schenker’s XMG Apex 15 laptop features a custom B450 motherboard which supports desktop-grade AM4 CPUs along with up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM.

You can either opt-in for the Ryzen 5 3600 or Ryzen 7 3700X processors, while if you need more power you can go up to the Ryzen 9 3900X and 3950X chips. All of the CPUs have been limited to 65 W while the Ryzen 9 models will run in Eco mode in order to achieve lower TDPs.

The increased power requirements will easily diminish the meagre 62 Wh battery included, especially when boosting the beastly Ryzen 9 3950X. These laptops are a bit bulkier than your average laptop, but are lighter than any of the Intel-based counterparts, with maximum weights of around 5.7 lbs.

Schenker has used Clevo’s latest barebones with 15.6-inch 144 Hz 1080p IPS displays while on the GPU front, users can choose between the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or RTX 2070.

As this is a B450 motherboard, it doesn’t feature PCIe 4.0 but there’s support for PCIe 3.0 x4 and x2 NVMe/SATA 3 SSDs along with a 2.5-inch HDD bay for up to 6 TB of storage. The ports include: 1x USB-A 2.0, 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen2, 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen2 (DP compatible), mini DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0b video outputs, GbE jack plus audio outs.

The Ryzen 5 3600 variant with 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB SSD and RTX 2060 will cost 1,337 Euros ($1,510), while a Ryzen 9 3950X powered variant sporting 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD and RTX 2070 costs 2,631 Euros ($2,882).

As we have mentioned earlier today about the price hike done by Xiaomi on their smartphones in which few smartphone prices have gone up to a very remarkable margin as the Indian government increased the Goods & Services Tax (GST) on smartphones from 12% to 18%. The GST has increased by up to 50% and it is a huge rise after a very long time. Due to this Realme has also stated that they are also increasing the prices accordingly due to the increase in the GST which already has come into effect from 1st April like the rest of the brands like Apple, Oppo, Xiaomi as well.

This increased tax rate on smartphones will pose a serious danger in the economy of the country which is already is affected and getting the revenue by imposing more taxes on smartphones will affect the whole industry and all those attached to it.

Apart from Realme, Xiaomi, and Oppo Apple and Samsung are also rumored to increase the smartphone prices by 5% to balance the effects of the new GST rate. Surely, the new increased GST rate will pose a negative impact on buyers and will make devices even more costly which in fact brings a huge impact on the fast-paced digital revolution in India.

In some recent reports, we came to know that Apple is continuing the manufacturing of the iPhone 9 which is the successor of the iPhone SE from 2016, which was in talks for quite a long time. Now finally we are getting close to some proper evidence of its launch or being real to some extent. As days are passing we are getting pieces of evidence of the iPhone 9 like the phone cover design and now the launch date.

From some insider news, it is said that Apple held an internal meeting to discuss the ongoing work on the iPhone 9, and finally, the concluded the meeting with the launch date being fixed on April 15 and the availability of the device will start from 22nd April onwards. It is still not clear whether the company is going to hold an online launch event or it will just issue a press release and be done with it.

From the above image we can see that this a new case specially manufactured for an iPhone as mentioned at the bottom of the pack. This phone cover is more likely to be of the upcoming Iphone 9 which will certainly feature a 4.7′ display and a single camera setup.

The iPhone 9 may range between $349 and $449, thus being a tough competitor into the mid-range price wars. Design-wise we can expect large bezels around the display, a chin, and a broad forehead. The touch-ID will be placed as it was in previous iPhone devices, a single front-facing camera, and a single rear camera as well. No details are known till now about the colour options of the device.

Robin Van Persie spoke about about an incident which happened in 2013. The incident potrays the ruthless nature of Manchester United great Sir Alex Ferguson.

Manchester United were leading the Premier League campaign by 15 points. But they lost the Manchester derby which cut their lead to 12 points. After the loss, Ferguson blasted two unnamed United players in the dressing room.

“In my first season, we were 15 points ahead in the league, and we welcomed Manchester City, hoping to seal the title. If we won, we would be 18 points ahead, but we lost. This still left us 12 points ahead, and most managers would not have dramatised the situation.”

Two guys from the team went out after the loss and, the day after the match, he had pictures of the two players posted on the dressing room walls from their night out . “Yeah, I have the names, but I really can’t give them. They got scolded by the coach, but it stayed in the dressing room. It was incredible. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has revealed some exciting specs about the upcoming OnePlus 8 series. He also said that OnePlus is focused on creating a “fast and smooth” user experience since day one, in OnePlus forum post that talks about the improvements that the company’s R&D team built for the upcoming OnePlus 8 series.

These devices will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 which will increase the CPU performance and GPU rendering time by 25% in their respective way. This chipset helps in power consumption in every way, helps in video shooting and rendering.

According to Lau, the device will have the latest LPDDR5 RAM connected with the Snapdragon 865 Soc for delivering blazing 6,400Mbps speed at bandwidth as high as 51.2GB/s. And it uses 45% less power compared to previous standards (presumably, Lau is talking about the even older LPDDR4 here).

The UFS 3.0 is used in most of the standard flagship devices as well as in OnePlus 8 devices, this increases the read and write speeds to about 1,700MB/s.

Apart from all these, the company has also revealed its 120Hz display and the 5G connectivity in the month of January. Previously we have also seen the device on the brand ambassador Robert Downey Jr.’s hand.

The transfer saga of Paul Pogba is going on for a long time. Manchester United now want to finish off the matter. They have already chosen their target who would replace Pogba in the midfield.

According to a report by The Star, Manchester United could trigger the staggering £135m buy-out clause to sign Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid, if Paul Pogba is sold.

The Spain international is a world class player. He has a successful career both with club and country. Till now, he has made 286 appearances for Atletico Madrid and has scored 38 goals and provided 18 assists in all competitions.

What stands apart for Saul is his tactical awareness and his versatility! He usually plays in the midfield but can also play in the right-hand side midfield or in the holding midfielder role. He has also played as a left-back in times of crisis at Madrid.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand is excited about the potential arrival of Saul Niguez, who he thinks will be a perfect fit for the United midfield along with Bruno Fernandes, McTominay and Fred.

Ferdinand told: “He’s [Saul Niguez] another one, what a player. I’ve been harping on about Saul Niguez for a few years now. I think he’s a major player. Composed, calm, great left foot, lovely conductor, he can score goals, tactically he’s very aware.”

“You can see Simeone, he gets his teams really well set up and he’s in the middle orchestrating and dictating things. Saul Niguez is huge and it’s come out in the papers this week that Man Utd are interested in him, but we’ll have to wait and see.”

The arrival of Saul is largely dependent on the sale of Paul Pogba. Pogba has been linked with a move away for a long time. So if they can sell him for around £100m, United would only then think of spending such a huge amount on Saul. But he’s worth every penny. He has shown that in Madrid.

In the recent days, we have seen quite a few laptops featuring the Ryzen 4000 APUs and this is expected to increase with days. So, MSI, who has been a strong partner of AMD, has released a new gaming laptop lineup name MSI Bravo with the latest Ryzen 4000H gaming processors and AMD graphics.

Asus was the first one to bring the new AMD powered gaming laptops and now MSI is here with its Bravo gaming laptops. It’s surprising to see, even though the world is struck with the coronavirus pandemic, new laptops are starting to pop up for pre-order at various online retailers.

Similarly, the new MSI Bravo 15 gaming laptops, which are more budget-friendly models as priced under US$1,000, are already up for pre-orders at Newegg. Even though these laptops aren’t that much fascinating as Asus but at its price, these laptops are great ‘value-for-money’ options.

The laptop features a 15.6-inch 1080p IPS display with a high 120Hz refresh rate and its Free-Sync compatible as well. The design of the laptop is quite similar to MSI’s Alpha 15 gaming laptop and also integrates with the Radeon RX 5500M discrete GPU with 4 GB of GDDR6 VRAM.

Xiaomi increases smartphone prices to counter 50% GST hike

It was coming, and now finally on April 1st smartphone companies have started to increase the prices of the smartphones because the goods and services tax (GST) on mobile phones was hiked from 12% to 18% in India in March. The first brand to increase the smartphone price is Xiaomi, the handset maker has announced a price hike for its entire portfolio.

This will be a huge blow for smartphone lovers because from now on you have to pay even more taxes for your new smartphones. Xiaomi India MD Manu Kumar Jain last night announced this news on Twitter.

The caption of his tweet says – “After much deliberation & in keeping with #Xiaomi policy of maintaining <5% margin on our hardware products, we will be increasing prices of our products.”

The GST rate hike comes in effect from today and Xiaomi has now taken the necessary measures to counter the effect on its business. The main reasons for the price hike are cited in the open letter in which Jain mentions that both the GST rate hike along with depreciation in Rupee vs US Dollar rates has led to this major decision.

Xiaomi also clarified that they are determined to stick to less than 5% profit margin on all of its products. As the Chinese giant tries offer its devices at the so-called “honest prices.” So there wasn’t much choice left for Xiaomi but to increase the retail prices of its smartphones.

All the Mi, Redmi and Poco devices will get price hikes and the newer prices for some of the smartphones have already gone into effect on the e-commerce platforms. 

The new Redmi Note 9 Pro which was launched at a starting price of Rs.12,999 in March now starts at Rs.14,999 for the 4GB+64GB base variant which is damn expensive now but the Poco X2 has received a minor price hike as its Rs.15,999 starting price has been incresed Rs. 16,999 on Flipkart.

The Redmi K20 series, on the other hand, has received a huge price hike as well. The Redmi K20 and K20 Pro now start at Rs. 21,999 and Rs. 26,999 respectively which was previously Rs.19,999 and Rs.24,999 just for the base variants.
