Everton are favourites to sign Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo

Jean-Clair Todibo joined Barcelona in January 2019 from Toulouse. The 20-year-old centre-back was deemed to be a future prospect.

He was sent out on loan to Schalke in the second half of last season. He made 10 appearances in all competitions and has now returned to Barcelona.

todibo 1 Everton are favourites to sign Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo

But sadly, Todibo isn’t in the plans of new Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman. He has chosen Pique and Lenglet as his first choice centre-backs and wouldn’t be able to give the young France international enough game time.

According to a report by le10sport, Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton is currently the favourites for securing the services of the Barcelona defender. They want him on loan with an option to buy.

Everton defenders, Mason Holgate and Jarrad Branthwaite are both out injured. Yerry Mina and Michael Keane are the only available centre-back options at Goodison Park.

So, Ancelotti wants to bring Todibo in order to boost his side’s defensive options. Everton are still unbeaten after Matchday 3 in the Premier League. They would definitely like to continue their good work and finish in European places.

PREMIER LEAGUE 2020-21: How the remaining four unbeaten clubs stack up after Matchday 3?

0

After Matchday 3 of the Premier League, there are only four teams that remain unbeaten. Although these are early days in the competition, the clubs have put their foot down and shown an intention to progress with their respective objectives.

Here we take a look at the four clubs and how they seem poised for the future:

1) Liverpool

Liverpool PREMIER LEAGUE 2020-21: How the remaining four unbeaten clubs stack up after Matchday 3?

A genuine favourite for the title, Liverpool have only started off from where they finished last season. With Man City slipping up courtesy of a 5-2 defeat at the hands of Leicester, the Reds have once again reinforced their squad strength with all players looking to fire.

Winning games against Leeds, Chelsea and Arsenal with an aggregate score of 10-4, Liverpool have had no problems controlling possession and finding the back of the net. But with upcoming fixtures such as Aston Villa, Sheffield and Everton, they look primed to face a tough fight in picking up points.

PREDICTED TABLE FINISH – 1st

2) Leicester City

Leicester PREMIER LEAGUE 2020-21: How the remaining four unbeaten clubs stack up after Matchday 3?

Brendan Rodgers’ side have come out with all cylinders firing after missing out on the Champions’ League last season. The fact that they have beaten top sides and been consistent in their performances show that they are top contenders for European football again this season.

Jamie Vardy has been in superb form scoring 5 goals in 3 matches so far. The Foxes next face West Ham, Aston Villa and Arsenal. But seeing the way they have performed, Leicester might just solidify their position in the top four places.

PREDICTED TABLE FINISH – 4th

3) Everton

Everton PREMIER LEAGUE 2020-21: How the remaining four unbeaten clubs stack up after Matchday 3?

Although many football fans expected Everton to mount a challenge for the top half places, no one expected them to be 3rd even after three games. The fact that Ancelotti’s men have begun on the front foot with confidence flowing through their gameplay. James Rodriguez, Richarlison and especially top scorer Dominic Calvert Lewin have all impressed so far.

With a goal aggregate of 8-3, there are still some minor doubts over their defensive capabilities. But if they continue this form, it will be hard to beat Everton who can capitalize on opposition’s mistakes.

PREDICTED TABLE FINISH – 6th

4) Aston Villa

Villa PREMIER LEAGUE 2020-21: How the remaining four unbeaten clubs stack up after Matchday 3?

The surprise candidate of them all is Dean Smith’s Aston Villa. With a host of new signings made and doubts from last season due to being close to relegation, Villa have definitely started on the right note. By winning two in two games now, new keeper Emiliano Martinez’s clean sheets will give him good confidence.

However, the upcoming games coupled with the fact that other teams start to settle in, Villa will start to drop points. Eventually, despite the best efforts from the likes of Grealish, McGinn and Hourihane, they will end up finishing in the mid-table places.

PREDICTED TABLE FINISH – 11th

IPL 2020: Rohit Sharma explains why he didn’t send Ishan Kishan for the super over

The Indian Premier League 2020 within 10 days has featured another nail-biting super over as Royal Challengers Bangalore slightly edged Mumbai Indians.

The thriller almost replicated the historic match a day before between Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab. The RCB batting first put up a mammoth score of 201 runs. During the chase, MI looked wobbled as they were reduced for just 78-4 in 11 overs.

Young Ishan Kishan, however, who was playing his first match of the IPL, didn’t want to give up. He, along with Kieron Pollard build a solid partnership until the 16th over. Yet the defending champions needed 80 runs to win in just 4 overs. However, what followed after that was absolute carnage!

928015 kishan ipl mi IPL 2020: Rohit Sharma explains why he didn't send Ishan Kishan for the super over
(PC- DNA India)

Both Kishan and Pollard started off by attacking both the spinners who were successful until that point. They scored 27 off Zampa and 22 off Chahal. This reduced the equation to 31 needed off 12 balls and MI managed to score 30. Kishan almost pulled out the heroics which were attained by Rahul Tewatia the other day. Kishan ended up scoring 99 off just 58 balls which included 9 massive sixes. Pollard finished at 60 off 24 balls.

Despite that Kishan wasn’t used for the super over. This decision of the four-time champs baffled the cricketing community.

Rohit Sharma explained the decision of not sending Kishan

Navdeep Saini handled the super over for RCB and restricted the mighty Mumbai Indians to only 7 runs. Jasprit Bumrah took responsibility for MI and bowled really well, however, 7 runs were just too less to defend.

Speaking in an interview, skipper Sharma revealed the reason why he didn’t send the youngster to bat.

He was drained out and he was not comfortable for the Super Over. He was not feeling fresh and Hardik is someone we trust hitting the long balls“, he said.

He also claimed that luck wasn’t necessarily on their side after a top edge of AB de Villiers went for four.

“Seven runs, you have to have luck on your side and get a wicket in the first two balls. And that unfortunate edge over fine leg made it two in two for them. We were not in the game at all when we started with the bat. Great innings by Ishan to get us back. Polly was brilliant as usual. Just that we didn’t start well, I thought we could have got 200 with the batting we have. With Polly being there, anything can happen, and Ishan can hit it.

Could India be the Catalyst for Cricket 19 Breaking into eSports?

0

Since the 1980s, cricket-related titles have been widely available. However, in a genre that has long been dominated by football franchises, such as FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer, the bat-and-ball game has yet to establish itself as a leading player within the sports-oriented gaming sector. Because of that, digital variants of the 16th-century game have thus far been unable to force their way into the thriving eSports industry. So, let’s consider whether India’s undeniable admiration for cricket could help the sport break into competitive gaming.

India’s Recent Acceptance of Diverse Gaming Could Be an Indication

Released in May 2019, Cricket 19 is arguably the most immersive cricket game that has ever hit the shelves. According to IGN’s review, the title looks and feels like the real thing, with Big Ant Studios focusing on developing a more authentic experience. However, despite the fact that the latest creation in the Ashes brand has received positive reviews, its mainstream success hasn’t yet led to an eSports presence. By comparison, FIFA 20 is a leading contributor to competitive gaming despite being described as a wasteland of bad gameplay.

Interestingly, as per ReviewAdda, cricket’s popularity in India is unparalleled. Because of this, and when you factor in the unprecedented growth of the country’s online gaming industry, the two could unquestionably intertwine in taking Cricket 19 to the forefront of the sports genre, particularly on a competitive level.

In many ways, this potential is a testament to India’s new-found acceptance of diverse markets, as evident from online casinos. Following the sector’s rise in becoming the country’s latest phenomenon, it’s important to examine the pros and cons of digital operators, including their available sign-up bonuses and game library depth. For example, at LeoVegas, prospective players can immerse themselves in Cricket Star, which is indicative of how online casinos in India are seeking to take the much-loved sport to broader audiences.

A Deep-Rooted Love of Cricket Gives India the Edge

While, of course, the pressure to bring Cricket 19 and any future cricket video games to the eSports sector shouldn’t lie solely with India, few can argue that the South Asian country hasn’t been integral to the growth of cricket across numerous markets. Furthermore, as per Statista, India’s online gaming industry is forecast to reach revenues of $1.6 billion by 2023. When you couple this multiplayer growth with the country’s promising eSports future, there’s no reason that India can’t be the catalyst in exploring a cricket-related eSports market.
