AMD’s new AMD Ryzen 5000 Series Desktop Processors deliver 26% better gaming performance

0

Wait Intel, your gaming dominance is finally coming to an end, AMD Ryzen 5000 is here

The day you were waiting for is here, Ryzen 5000 series processors have officially been announced their new Zen 3 based AMD Ryzen 5000 Series desktop processor lineup. These new processors provide up to 16 cores, 32 threads and 72 MB of cache with their top-of-the-line AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, a successor to last-gen Ryzen 9 3950X.

While still dominating its sole rival in terms of heavily threaded workloads and power efficiency, finally, AMD has made significant improvements in their CPU’s gaming performance.

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X processor offers up to a 26% generational uplift in gaming performance. A new architecture naturally means significant improvements to the overall CPU efficiency as well as IPC uplift.

With AMD “Zen 3” core architecture, AMD has achieved extensive improvements throughout the core including a unified 8-core complex with direct access to 32MB L3 cache. Zen 3 delivers 19% generational increase in instructions per cycle (IPC), the largest since the introduction of the original “Zen” processors back in 2017.

Intel’s Arizona Fab 42 site ready and operational

0

Last week Intel announced that its much anticipated Fab 42 has successfully started operating. The facility started manufacturing processors using the silicon giant’s latest 10nm process technology. Fab 42 is intel’s third facility to use the company’s latest node to manufacture its new wafers. The successful operations of the new Fab will significantly increase intel’s manufacturing rate to deliver its latest products in the market.

Intel started the construction of its Fab 42 facility in 2011. At that time Intel already visioned its move to the 450mm wafers. As a result, the new facility is built to be compatible with processing 450mm wafers.

Earlier, Intel spent $7 billion on its fab 42, in order to make it equipped to manufacture chipsets using the companies 7nm process.

But the semiconductor manufacturer decided to go forth with a 10nm process chipset. If Intel’s fab 42 is actually capable of using Intel’s 7nm process for manufacturing chipset remains un-disclosed. The 7nm process relies on both the DUV and also EUV lithography, which remains hard and expensive to manufacture.

The largest semiconductor manufacturer in the world has already introduced us with 2nd generation 10nm chips like the Ice Lake, Ice Lake-SP, Elkhart Lake, and Snow Ridge. The latest edition of the 10nm family is the 3rd generation 10nm chipsets namely Tiger Lake and DG1. All these products were produced in either Israel or Oregon. The inclusion of Intel’s fab 42 in Arizona will significantly boost intel’s SoC manufacturing process.

Intel has not revealed the actual production capacity of the fab 42. But sources claim that it will be the chipmakers ‘first mega-factory’. A mega fab is reported to have a capacity to produce up to 25,000 to 100,000 silicon wafers per month.

Intel has reported having spent more than $23 billion on the new fab 42 Arizona facility. It is expected to boost the production of its Tiger Lake SoC, making the chipmaker’s processors available to meet every market demand.

Intel to launch Sapphire Rapid aka 11th gen 10nm based server CPUs in 2021

0

Intel’s 10nm family has seen massive acceptance among the notebook community. With many accusations blaming intel for not releasing any new processors for desktop-grade and server-grade CPUs. But Intel is finally shutting all its critics. The semiconductor giant has announced the release of its new 11th gen Rocket Lake – S processor based on the 14nm process for desktop and gaming CPUs.

Now, however, the silicon manufacturing giant has brought to us an early Christmas present.

Intel’s new Sapphire Rapid platform is Intel’s new entry in for its server-grade CPUs. The new processor same as the Rocket Lake-S will be launched in 2021. They are stated to be based on the SuperFin Enhanced architecture same as Intel’s new Tiger Lake SoCs.

According to the leaker Matthew at Adored TV, the new platform from Intel will be based on MCM design and will feature up to 56 cores

It is also leaked to have 400-watt TDP which is a massive boost from its predecessor.

The Sapphire Rapids will come with support for DDR5 memory and the latest PCIe 5.0. This will truly make the Sapphire Rapid a “next-generation” data-center chip along with the addition of the new CXL 1.1 interconnect. The semiconductor manufacturer also plans to release the OneAPI. In order to complete its master plan of a unified data center ecosystem.

According to the leak, the Sapphire Rapids constructions will include 4 CPU tiles that will sport 14 cores each. The CPUs will contain 4 HBM2 stacks that have a maximum memory of 64 GB. The CPU will offer bandwidth from these 4 HBM2 stacks at 1 TB/s. According to the source, the HBM2 and GDDR5 RAM will work together in flat, caching/2LM along with hybrid modes.

As of now the Specifications that we got our hands-on, seems to suggest the Sapphire Rapid as a real powerhouse.

We certainly hope that the real-time performance is on par with all the specifications provided in the leak. However, 2021 is going to be absolutely spectacular year for technology. The semiconductor battle is going to light up the skies of the coming year.

Leeds United impress in the first few games of the Premier League – but can they keep it going?

0

When Leeds United first got promoted to the Premier League, nobody expected the newly promoted teams to bounce right off the start and make any kind of impact. But, that does not seem to be the case for Bielsa’s Leeds United. The club from Yorkshire has absolutely blitzed the Premier League on their arrival after nearly 16 years.

And even though it has only been four games, they seem like a team set to stay and are not worried about a survival fight. So what is it that makes this team special? And how are they poised for the future?

Leeds v Fulham, 2020/21 | Premier League

For starters, what makes this Leeds team unique, is a combination of factors. First, their manager Marcelo Bielsa is a very smart manager capable of mixing ambition with pragmatism. He has so far adjusted to the demands and strength of the Premier League oppositions. But, at the same time, he had imprinted his pressing counter-attacking front foot style of play in the league.

Next, the players’ quality which was largely unknown for non-Leeds fans. There were doubts over whether making the step up from Championship would be a tough task, but up until now, they have come good and strong. Having leaders in the side who can motivate and instil belief in the players cannot be underestimated. And for that reason, the likes of captain Cooper, Ayling, Dallas and Allioski are assets to The Whites when the going gets tough.

Leeds and Man City draw as Pep Guardiola shares points with Marcelo Bielsa - Eurosport

Leeds have been tipped as top half and even Europa league hopefuls when the teams entered the international break. Although the optimistic football supporters would hope for that, reality kicks in. Which means that Leeds do have chinks in their armour that could be exploited when all teams get their chemistry and playing styles sorted.

Over the course of the season, attacking football always carries a risk of burnout and that is something which could affect Bielsa’s men in the longer run. But regardless, their focus remains survival. And with a great start of 7 points in 4 games that includes two wins as well, Leeds are well on their way to achieving that and showing that they truly belong here in the English top-flight.

Barcelona fans successfully register motion of no confidence against Bartomeu

0

Barcelona club president Josep Maria Bartomeu has received heavy criticism under recent times. His vision and policy of taking the club forward have been questioned by club captain and legend Lionel Messi himself.

The Socios were collecting signatures to produce a vote of no confidence against Bartomeu.

So now it has been confirmed that 18,090 signatures have already been validated which is far more than the required 16,521 to make the motion of no confidence a success.

There are still some outstanding signatures that are yet to be validated, which could take the final validated signature count close to 20,000.

By the club’s rules, a referendum on Bartomeu is going to take place. If two-thirds of the voters agree, then Bartomeu could be forced out and a new president could be elected.

Barcelona are now waiting for the permission of the Catalan Government for conducting the voting in the pandemic. Once the permission is granted and everything is OK, the next steps will be taken.

bartomeu Barcelona fans successfully register motion of no confidence against Bartomeu

Jordi Farre celebrated by saying “Objective accomplished!” He thinks that after the result of the validation of the signatures, the current Barcelona president should resign.

Farre said: “I want to thank all the partners who have signed. We had the idea that it would be achieved. Just knowing we have hugged, they have been hard days The objective is that now all the ballots are validated and be close to 20,000.”

“I think there will be no referendum and that Bartomeu and his board will resign. I ask you to save yourself this bad drink and leave now and elections are called as soon as possible.”

The total figures offered by Baraa are the following:

  • Ballots presented: 20,687
  • Pending ballots: 942
  • Ballots processed: 19,745
  • Valid ballots: 18,090
  • Void ballots: 975
  • Doubtful ballots: 190
  • Ballots in process: 490

The 20,687 signatures collected against Bartomeu is the highest figure in history to promote a motion of no confidence. So you can definitely guess that it was always a matter of when and not if Bartomeu resigns.

The time of Bartomeu at Barcelona is clearly over and it is for his own good that he resigns before the vote takes place and save himself from further humiliation.

Carry forward your credit limit from your existing operator to Jio at No extra cost

0

We are well aware of Jio’s unbelievable offerings. In the case of Jio Postpaid, the Indian telecom operator follows the same. It introduces the first-ever “CARRY-FORWARD YOUR CREDIT LIMIT FROM YOUR EXISTING OPERATOR TO JIO”.

In simple words, postpaid users under other telecom operators now can switch to Jio Postpaid Plus without losing their credit limit. For example, if you are a non-Jio postpaid user and you have a ₹500 credit limit. Now, if you want to switch to Jio Postpaid, that will be carry forwarded to your new Jio Postpaid account. Surprisingly, Jio is not taking a single rupee for that.

To avail this facility, users need to follow only three simple steps. Here are those –

  1. Send ‘Hi’ to 88-501-88-501 from WhatsApp (From your postpaid number that you want to move to Jio)
  2. Upload your existing operator’s postpaid bill
  3. After 24 hours, you can walk into any Jio store or call for home delivery of your JioPostpaid Plus SIM & get the credit limit of your choice without paying a single rupee/security deposit

In case you are confused whether the Jio Postpaid Plus is beneficial for you or not, a comparison chart is given below.
