Zinedine Zidane dismisses Pique’s claim of referees favouring Real Madrid

0

Real Madrid’s Zinedine Zidane responded to comments by Gerard Pique in his pre-match press conference on Saturday as the title race in Spain heats up.

Pique told after Barcelona’s draw with Sevilla that he thinks it will be difficult, for his team to win the league. In addition, he stated that he thinks it is going to be hard for Madrid to lose points, after viewing the first two matchdays after the competition resumed.

Pique says Barcelona players weren’t bothered by Eder Sarabia’s behaviour

Pique’s comment was interpreted as a clue that referees have favoured Real Madrid in their wins against Eibar and Valencia however Zidane has dismissed all of it.

“No. I am very direct. I don’t think so. People can say one thing or another. What I am interested in is the game tomorrow. I have my opinion, but I won’t tell you what I think about Pique or anyone.

“[Barca’s draw] doesn’t change anything. This is our third game, we have talked about playing 11 finals, and we will prepare thinking about giving everything on the pitch and nothing else.”

Valencia had a target by Rodrigo chalked off by VAR due to offside that could have put them 1-0 up. Real Madrid went on to win the game 3-0 on Thursday with a man of the match performance by Marco Asensio after his return from injury.

Zidane’s team will be playing at Real Sociedad tonight and a win will take them level on points with Barcelona and move them on top of the LaLiga table, courtesy of a better head-to-head record.

Frenkie De Jong suffers soleus injury, major blow for the Catalans

0

FC Barcelona suffers a huge blow as their No. 21 suffers an injury in the soleus of his right leg. It all happened in the opening game of Barcelona against Mallorca where the Dutchman got substituted at the end of the match.

He was then in the substitution bench for the match against Leganes but was never brought until he missed the trip to Sevilla due to injury. But today, the club officially stated that he has faced a leg injury, here’s the official statement:

The clinical follow-up on Frenkie De Jong has uncovered an injury in the soleus of his right leg. The evolution of the injury will condition the player’s availability. Barça’s No.21 is in his first season as a player at FC Barcelona and has played a total of 38 games, 27 of them in the league.

Thus far, the Dutchman has only missed three matches in the domestic competition, the last one coming this past Friday against Sevilla.

However, as of now, there’s no time span stated by the club for the recovery of the Dutchman, who has been the key part of Setien’s team. This implies that we will get to see more appearances from the likes of Arthur, Ivan Rakitic and impressive youth Riqui Puig over the course of next few matches, which are very crucial in this title race.

Reliance Jio accuses Paytm for dragging Indian Telecom Companies to court

One of the partners of Paytm, One97 Communications reached the Delhi High Court against all the telecom operators i.e. Jio, Vodafone Idea, Bharati Airtel, MTNL, and BSNL at the beginning of this month and blamed they all are not taking any action against spam calls and fraudsters.

Reliance Jio hammered the digital payment giant for this move and also stated, through this action Paytm is trying to shift the eyes of law from its financial frauds. Instead, it said to the High Court as per the Telecom Commercial Communication Customer Preference Regulation (TCCCPR) 2018 no telecom company is responsible for any kind of fraud activities happen over the call or via SMS.

Court_TechnoSports.co.in

“Under Section 79 of the IT Act, intermediaries are exempt from liability under the Act in respect of any third-party information, data, or communication link made available or hosted by them,” – Jio.

Jio also said the telecom Authority of India (TRAI) is “not empowered to itself act on fraudulent/unlawful activity, nor can it impose any legal obligation in this regard on service providers.”

In the court, One97 Communication also claimed ₹100 crores as a “financial and reputational loss” fulfillment and claims the telemarketers are needed to get verified before granting them to access customers’ data. The next hearing is on 24th June.

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly backed to be the next ICC Chairman

0

Many people are backing for Sourav Ganguly as the next Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC). After being backed by the Cricket South Africa’s Director of Cricket Operations Graeme Smith, the BCCI president has now got the Sri Lanka cricket support as well.

According to Sri Lanka news publication Daily News, SLC has declared that they’d support Sourav Ganguly as the next chairman of the ICC if he chooses to run for the post.

A SLC official told: “The SLC will lend support to BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly, if he desires to be the ICC Chairman; and, if he doesn’t wish to be appointed to the position and the BCCI nominates anyone from India, we will continue to favour anyone with our support.”

Earlier, CSA Director of Cricket Graeme Smith publicly said that the former captain [Sourav Ganguly] is the right person to lead ICC.

Graeme Smith said: “He [Sourav Ganguly] has the credibility and leadership. Someone like Ganguly is best positioned for that (the ICC role)… He is got the credibility, leadership and can take the game forward. The elections are coming, there are, of course, few other names in the hat, but in my opinion, someone with modern (perception) for the game should be the candidate.”

sourav ganguly

The present chairman of the ICC, Shashank Manohar has already publicly declared that he doesn’t want to seek any further extension. The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) former chairman Colin Graves is the only one who is still in contention for the role. But without support from BCCI, it will be hard for him to win.

Although, Sourav Ganguly has not yet told about his intention to run for the ICC Chairman post. The BCCI also has not yet announced their candidate for the ICC chairmanship. But if Ganguly decided to run for the post it will be a cakewalk for him.

A veteran cricket administrator & a former ICC president said to InsideSport: “If he [Sourav Ganguly] decides, it will be no stopping him. Everyone wants to be in BCCI’s good books at this stage, whoever they choose will win hands down”,

However, ICC is yet to declare the election norms – the criteria and procedures. Despite three meetings in the last six weeks, the ICC has not made anything public. Whenever that happens, BCCI and others are going to make their strategy public.

Barcelona offer Messi his last contract renewal at the club

0

Time and tide wait for none. So, with time the age of the best footballer on this planet, Lionel Messi is gradually increasing, which is very hard to accept for the fans. The little magician is 32 years old now.

While Xavi and Iniesta were at the club he used to finish the moves started by them or score solo goals. Now, with time and age, he has converted himself to a playmaker. This has also been due to Barcelona’s lack of quality after the Xavi-Iniesta era.

According to a report by Eldes marque, the Barcelona board has prepared to offer Leo Messi a contract extension until the summer of 2023, when he will be 35-year-old and sadly, this could be his last contract renewal with his beloved club. The contract renewal would also see Messi’s wages increase, however, the report has not specified the amount by which it would possibly increase.

Messi’s last contract with Barcelona will end in 2023. It will be hard to see the Messi-less Barcelona team. Real Madrid needed 2 seasons to fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo, though they weren’t dependent on Ronaldo as much as Barcelona depends on Messi. So you could think of the impact of Messi leaving Barcelona on the club. It seems they would require an eternity to replace the best footballer.

Barcelona needs to plan for its post-Messi era from now. If they need to bring in Neymar they need to do it now so that he can learn from Messi to lead the team and finally take the mantel after Messi leaves.

It would be interesting to see how Barcelona will tackle the post-Messi era.

TikTok eyes to earn $500 Million revenue in 2020 from the US alone

0

The short video platform is getting more and more popular these days, thanks to the likes of TikTok, who earns the top spot in this segment. Apart from a large user count in Asia including India, TikTok has expanded itself to both Europe and the US. It is reported that the Chinese app earned a whopping $200-$300 million in global advertising revenue last year.

On the other hand, the app’s parent firm, ByteDance, is reportedly setting the bar in 2020. According to The Information, the Chinese company is targeting earnings of $500 million from the United States alone this year. Valued at about $100 billion, ByteDance already has a major presence in Asia. However, the company’s presence in the United States and Europe is still somewhat restricted.

tiktok-logo_TechnoSports.co.in

As part of its monetization plans, ByteDance last year established itself as a self serve ad platform, alongside a brand new website tracking pixels and integration with the ads technology vendors. Overall, the company reportedly made $5.6 billion in annual revenues in the first quarter of 2020. Though the number has not been officially confirmed by the company, if accurate, it represents a 130% increase YoY.

The company is apparently aiming to become about 50% of the size of Tencent with regards to earnings at the end of this season. Tencent reported 377 billion yuan i.e. $53 billion in revenue. So it’ll be intriguing to see if ByteDance will get closer to 200 billion yuan i.e. mark by the end of 2020.

TikTok has shot up the popularity charts around the globe over the last couple of years. It lately notched-up two billion downloads worldwide, for example, 1 billion downloads on the Play Store alone.

Global-tiktok-downloads-by-quarter-TechnoSports.co.in

However, this might be a problem for the Silicon giants in the US as TikTok now reportedly has 50 million daily active users there – about 5 times more than last year. Already, rumours have begun that this progress of a Chinese app on the US soil has tensed the giants like Facebook, YouTube, and others. TikTok not only wants to expand but also gain more users in the US because it’s growing a strong team thereby hiring employees from Facebook, Google and others.

Surprisingly, the app had been the second most installed non-gaming program in April on both Google Play along with the iOS App Store with more than 107 million downloads. TikTok aims to attract more US companies to serve ads on their platforms and they are in fact, trying to get rid of its Chinese origin by separating its servers and client accounts. The company is even buying data and analytics company to make strategies on how to crack the wealthy US ad market.
