ATK Mohun Bagan has now been renamed as Mohun Bagan Super Giant and a new official logo has also been unveiled recently by the Kolkata giants on 3rd July. The Kolkata-based Indian Super League team is not only the oldest club in India but also in Asia. Mohun Bagan was founded way back in 1889. They are currently the defending ISL Champions, as they defeated Hyderabad FC 4-3 on penalties last season.

Despite winning the ISL last season, the MBSG management are sitting quietly. They have made many big-name signings ahead of the new 2023-24 season. They want to build a team to compete at the AFC level as well.

Indian defender Anwar Ali becomes the latest addition to the already glamorous Mohun Bagan Super Giant’s squad. Anwar has been a rock at the defence of the Indian team as they went on to win the SAFF Championship 2023 recently. Anwar was playing for FC Goa last season but has now joined the most successful ISL club. He will surely be a great addition at the back for Mohun Bagan.

In 2019, AIFF ruled out Anwar Ali from playing football as he was diagnosed with a rare heart disease, Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. In this condition, the heart muscle wall becomes abnormally thick and affects the pumping of blood. However, Ali was successful in getting a verdict from the Delhi High Court which allowed him to continue playing football. He has now currently become one of the best Indian defenders.
