Rashmika Mandanna’s Kodava Wedding Saree — Did Vijay Deverakonda’s Mom Gift Her the Special Drape for VIROSH Ceremony?

One of the most heartwarming details to emerge from the VIROSH wedding on February 26, 2026, isn’t about the decor or the guest list — it’s about a saree. Reports suggest that Rashmika Mandanna wore a special saree gifted by Vijay Deverakonda’s mother, Madhavi, specifically for the evening Kodava-style ceremony that honoured the bride’s cultural roots from Coorg.

VIROSH Wedding — Ceremony Breakdown

The Saree That’s Got Everyone Talking

The Kodava ceremony — held to honour Rashmika’s heritage from Coorg, Karnataka — carried a deeply personal touch that went far beyond the rituals. According to reports, Vijay Deverakonda’s mother, Madhavi, presented Rashmika with a special saree for this second ceremony. While official photos of the Kodava nuptials are still awaited, the gesture itself has already captured the internet’s heart.

In Kodava culture, traditional wedding attire holds immense significance — the bride typically drapes a saree in the distinctive Kodava style, pinned with traditional jewellery that reflects the community’s warrior heritage. The fact that her new mother-in-law personally chose and gifted the saree makes this moment quietly extraordinary.

Inside the Full VIROSH Wedding Day

The day began at 8:00 AM with a traditional Telugu ceremony steeped in “Old World” charm — Vijay in a Pancha and red Angavastram tied to Rashmika’s deep orange silk saree, a symbol of their union literally woven together. Rashmika’s family formally welcomed Vijay and his family with coconuts, betel leaves, fresh fruits, turmeric, and kumkum — all rituals central to South Indian nuptial customs.

The Telugu ceremony was attended by close friends and filmmaker guests including Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Tharun Bhascker, Rahul Ravindran, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Ashika Ranganath — all in line with the couple’s strict no-phone policy that kept the celebrations intimate and private.
