Google Pay Fashion Experience India: Try-On

You spot a friend’s jacket, or a styling video stops your scroll, and suddenly you want the look. The tricky part is turning that spark into an actual purchase. Google Pay thinks it can help, and it is testing a new fashion and lifestyle experience in India to do exactly that.

What Is the New Google Pay Fashion and Lifestyle Experience?

Announced on November 2, 2026, this is a pilot inside the Google Pay app, not a full rollout. It gives shoppers a dedicated space to discover, visualise and find products and looks tailored to them.

It is built on Google’s Shopping Graph, which holds more than 60 billion continually updated products, along with visual search, virtual try-on and YouTube videos. If you like following how apps are changing everyday shopping, our latest tech news coverage has more.

How to Check If You Have Access?

Access is limited to a select group of users while Google gathers feedback. To check:

Update the Google Pay app to the latest version.
Look for the Discover icon at the bottom of the screen.
Tap it to explore the experience.

If you don’t see it yet, don’t worry. That simply means you aren’t in the pilot group for now.

Virtual Try-On: See It Before You Buy

Online clothes shopping has one classic problem: you can’t tell how something will fit or fall until it arrives. Virtual try-on addresses this with product-level try-on from individual listings, so you can see how select items look and drape on you before deciding.

Google says pre-generated daily looks for outfit suggestions are coming soon, which could make the Discover tab a place to browse ideas, not just products. Google has also introduced its virtual apparel try-on tool in India, and this experience builds on that technology.

Find Similar Styles with a Photo

Say you see an outfit on social media but have no idea where it’s from. Inside the experience, you can snap a photo or upload an image and instantly discover visually similar products across the web. It is the digital version of showing a picture to a shopkeeper and asking, “Do you have something like this?” For more handy app features, check our how-to and tech guides.

How Buying Works?

When you find something you love, a quick tap takes you directly and securely to the merchant’s website. You then complete the purchase there with your preferred payment method. So Google Pay helps with discovery and the journey, while the merchant handles the final checkout.

Why This Matters for Indian Shoppers?

Google Pay is already an app many people use daily for payments. Adding fashion discovery to it means inspiration, visualisation and payment sit in one familiar place. If you want to understand the app’s background, the Google Pay Wikipedia page offers a helpful overview.

Since this is a pilot, features and availability may change as Google collects feedback. Keep checking Technosports for updates as the rollout expands.
