Omnivision develops 200MP sensor

Samsung is the existing industry leader now but OmniVision seems to be catching up to them and closing that gap. Their new 200MP OVB0A sensor is just 1/1.395″ in size which makes it smaller than its predecessor and it also has 0.56µm pixels that making it the smallest one developed for mobile imaging purposes.

The latest sensor also has 100% quad-phase detection and quantum efficiency features that allow it to offer the best performance, the smartphone ties its predecessor when it comes to capturing the visible light spectrum.

The company claims that its 200MP sensor will not be available to customers right away, it is yet to be featured in any smartphones but you can expect the sensor to make an appearance on a smartphone soon.
