Apple iPhone 15 Pro models could come without physical SIM card slots

Apple was one of the earliest brands to get rid of the headphone jack on smartphones and the move resonated well with its customer base. Apple also introduced support for eSIM on its devices with the iPhone XS and the XS Max which enabled users to have second network support on the device through the digital SIM along with the regular physical SIM.

Now, a recent report from a Brazilian site states that Apple is planning to rid its devices of the physical SIM card slot from the iPhone in the coming years.

As per the report, the Apple iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models that are set to launch in 2023 could lack a physical SIM card slot. Instead, the smartphones will only have support for eSIM cards for connectivity.

It is also said that there will be support for two eSIM cards, ensuring that there will be dual SIM functionality.

It is very early to get any concrete information with respect to the Apple iPhone 15 Series as they will launch in 2023 and we are not even in 2022 as of now.

If this information turns out to be true, we expect Apple to still manufacture Apple iPhones with physical SIM card slots for regions where eSIM functionality is not available.

Before this, there were rumors about Apple planning to remove the Lightning port from the smartphones and if the company also got rid of the physical SIM card slot, then it would be a step ahead for a seamless design as well as better water resistance.

Presently, it is all based on speculation and there is no concrete evidence to back any of these reports.

Apple, however, does not shy away from taking bold decisions so there is a possibility of this information turning out to be true. At this point, all we can do is wait and watch.
