HP Inc, a computer and printer company, announced on Wednesday that it has begun local manufacturing of a variety of PC products in India, including laptops, as the government renews its commitment to the “Make in India” project.

At the Flex factory in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the company has started producing a variety of laptops, desktop towers, and tiny PCs.

In addition to display monitors, HP also produces them in India.

According to the corporation, certain of these products qualify for government public procurement orders and will be offered on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) platform to meet the demands of government agencies and other clients.

With devices such as HP EliteBooks, HP ProBooks, and HP G8 series notebooks, HP is the first company to manufacture such a wide range of laptops in India.

The company has also added a variety of types of desktop mini towers (MT), mini desktops (DM), small form factor (SFF) desktops, and All-in-One PCs to its domestically-built commercial desktops.

These products are available with both Intel and AMD processors and are aimed at a diverse set of customers.

From August 2020, HP has teamed with Flex to produce business desktops in the country.

“Computing is enabling hybrid work, hybrid learning, and hybrid playing, as seen by the enormous growth seen over the last year. Computing is becoming more mainstream, which is a great sign that we should expand our reach “Patel drew attention to this point.

HP’s upcoming products in India:

HP is producing a wide selection of laptops in India for the first time, including HP EliteBooks, ProBooks, and G8 series notebooks. To enhance its ‘Make in India’ portfolio, it has added several kinds of desktop mini-towers (MT), mini desktops (DM), All-in-One PCs, and small form factor (SFF) desktops to its list of locally built commercial desktops. Both AMD and Intel processors are available on these computers.

The company will also produce display units in-house to better meet market demand for these devices, which is being fueled in part by the existing hybrid work/education paradigm.
