Tecno is on the verge of releasing its latest Camon 18 Series after the launch of the Tecno Phantom X. The series has two devices, the standard Camon 18 and the Camon 18 Premier. We may get to see the third device in the lineup as well, but there is little to no evidence that it may happen.

Coming to the display and design of the Camon 18 Series, we do not know much apart from the fact that it will have an FHD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080p. But looking at the photos of the device, it is safe to assume that the display is sized at over 6.4″.

The design of the Tecno Camon 18 Series is very similar to the Oppo Reno6 5G due to its near-identical camera module and less rounded edges.

Tecno has not revealed much about the camera specs of the upcoming series. However, some leaked images reveal that the phones or at least one of the models will feature 60x zoom. The zoom will be complemented with Tecno’s proprietary AI TAIVOS technology.

Further, the company’s official Instagram handle recently posted a video that showed the Camon 18 Series Gimbal camera in action. The Gimbal tech essentially results in super-smooth stabilization.

Overall, the new camera setup is said to capture significantly better photos than its predecessor.

The Tecno 18 Camon Premier is going to be the first device to have the MediaTek Helio G96 SoC. While the processor is pretty good, it does have one flaw, lack of 5G support. We are not sure if the processor is standard across the lineup.

Coming to security, the series is likely to have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner that will be embedded into the power button.

The Tecno Camon 18 Series will be booting into Android 11 out-of-the-box layered with HiOS 7.6. However, judging from the fact that the company has had an Android 12 Developer Preview Program, Android 12 should be hitting that lineup sometime later.

We can expect the Tecno Camon 18 Series to arrive in blue-gray and light-blue colorways. It is always a possibility that we may see more colors later on.

Coming to the storage configurations of the Camon 18 Series, we do not really know much.

As for the release date, the Camon 18 Series will make its entry sometime in October, no exact date has been revealed yet, nor has information about its pricing emerged.
